Rep. Joe ‘You lie!’ Wilson: I needed to look up ‘dithering’ in the dictionary, but I still agree with Cheney.

In a speech last month to the Center for Security Policy, Vice President Cheney criticized President Obama on Afghanistan, saying he was “dithering while America’s armed forces are in danger.” The Hill notes that an interview yesterday with WorldNetDaily radio, Rep. Joe “You lie!” Wilson (R-SC) said that he agreed with Cheney’s assessment — but only after he looked up Cheney’s big word in a dictionary:

You know, I’m really disappointed, and I actually agree with Vice President Cheney that the President is dithering. And I actually had to look up what “dithering” meant, and it’s “indecisive.” And that’s what the President is being.

  23. A Patriot Acting says:

Didn’t the Chimp dither for years in Iraq? He called it “staying the course” is all.

  24. Zimzone says:

Anybody that needs to reference the meaning of dithering is blatantly displaying ignorance.

Of course, that’s what ‘You lie’ Wilson is proud of displaying.

Then NSC Rice decided that 55 warnings plus the “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US” was nothing to bother with and Bush old news, and Bush thought it was a joke and went off to clear brush.

THAT criminally negligent “dithering” has ultimately cost at least a trillion dollars, up to 500,000 dead and millions of lives crippled by hardship.

CHENEY and the Bush administration was the real threat, all along.

    Twittering twit.

  47. jjm says:

Undecided because you are thinking carefully is not indecisive, not dithering

  48. Xisithrus says:

one of the earliest [applications] of dither came in World War II. Airplane bombers used mechanical computers to perform navigation and bomb trajectory calculations. Curiously, these computers (boxes filled with hundreds of gears and cogs) performed more accurately when flying on board the aircraft, and less well on ground. Engineers realized that the vibration from the aircraft reduced the error from sticky moving parts. Instead of moving in short jerks, they moved more continuously. Small vibrating motors were built into the computers, and their vibration was called dither from the Middle English verb “didderen,” meaning “to tremble.”

  80. ralph the wonder llama says:

Why does Stormfront think CNN’s fall from the top 30 cable channels in prime time is bad news for progressives?

Could it be that our silly friend actually thinks progressives are as monolithic in their information sources as regressives are?

Could he actually think that progressives identify with CNN the way that regressive identify with Faux News?

If so, it’s probably because regressives seem incapable of abstract thought that doesn’t involve projecting their own deficiencies onto others.

  81. Harold Melvin says:

    “Progressives!” with a capital p?

  82. ralph the wonder llama says:

  89. Bilbo Hussein Baggins says:

Actually it’s more bad news for conservatives. CNN has been trying to compete with Fixed News for a couple of years now. Apparently it’s not working since Fixed has all the wingnuts tied up right now.

BTW, when you take a look at how many people watch Fixed compared to the total of all the Network News and other cable news outlets, it is a very SMALL fraction of the people in this country who watch Fixed.

  93. Marie says:

When was it ever determined that CNN was a “progressive” cable channel?
They had Glenn Beck, they still have Lou Dobbs, Campbell Brown, John King, Kyra Phillips — certainly, they are not progressive. CNN has been trying to be Fox-lite, and it doesn’t seem to be working. CNN was a real “news” channel at one time, but they decided to reduce themselves for broad appeal and lost their identity along the way.

  94. pete says:

    Marie,

To the troll’s, anything that isn’t FAUX is “left-wing” by default. And they even scream for the head of Shep Smith whenever he has a momentary attack of guilty conscience.

  95. texaslady says:

Even Joe Wilson’s wife asked “who was that fool that yelled at President Obama?” bush & cheney left Afganistan twisting in the wind for 7 years and NOW cheney wants action ? Where the hell has his voice been all this time ?
And all these tea baggers whining about spending so much money where were they these last 7 years ? bush fiddled while America burned but these idiots blame everything on President Obama !

  96. Virtual Pebble says:

No, Joe. Indecisive is that guy who was sitting on a stool with the abso-fracking-lutely classic ‘deer in the headlights, WTF do I do now?’ look on his face and a copy of “My Pet Goat” in his hands. Yes, Joe, your very own Shrub #43 is, to put it very mildly, indecisive. The very fact that he had to go on national tv and let everyone know that he’s the deciderer should have been a warning flag for Republipimps across the land.

Regarding President Obama, ‘having not yet reached a decision’ is not equal to ‘indecisive’. I think he properly serves the office by fully staffing out the issues that confront our nation. Better a fully considered decision than jumping willy-nilly into a pitfall.

  97. dasm says:

Apparently Wilson is quite comfortable showing himself to be semi-literate, perhaps one could even say “stupid”, given his position. Wilson is a lying, less-than-intelligent un-American person with no respect for the U.S. President or Congress. People like Wilson should never be elected; they have nothing to offer the country in any positive way.

  98. Powkat says:

I think I’ll move to the old South and run for congress – I’m a zillion times smarter than any of these clowns – I could lie until I got into office and then vote with the Dems all the time. They’d toss me after 2 years, but what the heck, I’d have a sweet pension and excellent health care for the rest of my life. And maybe do some good during those 2 years.

  99. ForTruth says:

I still miss when TP allowed the posting of photos.

Ahhh yes, the stormchaser assumes we are like him when it comes to news sources. For one, it’s a narcissistic tendency to assume others behave like yourself. And also it’s laughable that CNN would be so important to Progressives. It’s not.

This reminds me of a web-traffic study of political blogs. Huffington Post was the busiest for the left, and some other crap was busiest for the right. The point is, that web traffic from left blogs was very diverse, and crossed over to the right very often. Web traffic from the right blogs stayed within the confines of the right blogs.

It would tend to indicate the right is much more limited in their sources of information. They don’t want to check out multiple views. Storm has projected this tendency upon the Progressives by assuming CNN is so important to us.
