Tom Tancredo storms off the set of MSNBC during debate with DailyKos’ Markos Moulitsas.

Today on the Ed Show, former Republican congressman Tom Tancredo tried to argue that all veterans are unhappy with their health care under the Veterans Administration — as proof of why government-run care doesn’t work:

Every veterans group I ever went and talked to complained about the Veterans Administration and the way it was a bureaucratically-run program that didn’t serve their needs. They would much rather have vouchers that would let them go out and buy their insurance in a private marketplace.

When the other guest on the program, DailyKos founder Markos Moulitsas, started laughing, Tancredo replied, “You’re laughing, but talk to the veterans. They talk to me, and that’s why they said.” Markos then informed Tancredo that he actually is a veteran, adding, “I did not get a deferment because I was too depressed to fight in a war that I supported in Vietnam. I’m a veteran, Tom.” Tancredo became incensed at Markos, calling his comment “stupid” and demanding that he apologize. When he didn’t, Tancredo stormed off the set. Watch it:

As Markos noted, Tancredo was eligible to serve in Vietnam and was a supporter of the war, but received a deferment after “he went for his physical, telling doctors he’d been treated for depression.” After Tancredo left, Markos went on to say that Republicans are “terrified of government programs that work” because it threatens the myths they have built up.

good riddance, chickenhawk. don’t want to see you again. this is what happens when you confront a bully: he runs away.

  2. eyeswideopen1 says:

I guess Markos hit a nerve! Great job! Totally exposed Tancredo as the ultimate hypocrit that he is. I’d love someone to do the EXACT same thing to Limbaugh that that fat f**k never puts himself in situations to have to defend his views.

  3. had enough says:

When confronted and the lies, spin and smears can no longer work there is no where else to go except run away and hide ….which is what the video clearly demonstrates.

    Way to go Markos!

  4. Skyler says:

Well, a veteran named Markos Moulitsas must be a terrorist and, therefore, must be screened (this is snark).

  5. okie dokie says:

The way Tancredo bailed out in the line of fire,
it’s probably better he didn’t serve.

  6. Dr. Hussein Matt says:

Tancredo cannot stand up to the enemy, facts, or a liberal. Loser.

  7. konchster says:

Tancredo does the funky chickenhawk right off the set. I am sure he he never saw that one coming. Markos punked him just as he deserved

It is pretty normal for Republicans to leave the room when somebody starts telling the truth about them.

Or just telling the truth about anything, pretty much.

Man, you could almost see Markoss’ footprint on Tancredos ass as he got up and left the set.

Tancredo didn’t run from the set, he slithered.

  15. Paul the Sax Guy says:

I’m a veteran of the US Army, 1974-1982, SGT/E-5, Air Defense Artillery, and, although I was just a wee bit too young to serve in Vietnam (in hindsight, thank God), I’ve never heard the kind of crap from veterans that spewed by chickenhawks like Tancredo, Limbaugh, Beck, and the rest. No one prays for peace more than a combat veteran (and, in my case, a veteran of the European Baader-Meinhof crap… quite a few of my fellow Nike compatriots in Germany were targeted by them… not completely comparable to my brothers-in-arms who got shot at on a daily basis, but at least I get it).

It seems no one welcomes war more than those who never had any intention of serving, but have no problems sending other peoples’ family members to be cannon fodder.

Tancredo, you were pwned, and pwned royally. You go Kos!!!!
(and, btw, thank you for your honorable service.)

  16. Glenn Beck says:

It takes a special kind of courage not to serve and to vote for a war.

Tom Tancredo has that kind of courage.

  17. WillowOrchid says:

Tancrydo demanded an apology from Marcos. Pretty funny, demanding Marcos apologize for saying He was a Vet and that he hadn’t dodged the draft.

  18. Liz Morrison says:

Who got stuck with cleaning up the pile of chicken guano Tancredo left on his chair after he stormed off?

  19. Skyler says:

    Yo, Tancredo:

“I have seen war. I have seen war on land and sea. I have seen blood running from the wounded . . . I have seen the dead in the mud. I have seen cities destroyed . . . I have seen children starving. I have seen the agony of mothers and wives. I hate war.”

    a very rude and obnoxious liar… and a whiner…

    Funny story.

Last summer I was sitting in a Dairy Queen enjoying an ice cream cone on a hot summer night when who pulls up outside with his wife but Terrible Tommy.

His wife gets out and comes inside to order and there is a long line. Terrible Tommy waits outside. At first I didn’t recognize him, but I knew the face behind the wheel of the car. After a while he is getting steamed waiting and comes inside to see what the hold up is.

Now this is the funny part. Terrible Tommy is a short man, 5′ 6″ or so. He come in looking all around, back and forth like he’s expecting a Ninja to jump him. He talks quickly to his wife and heads out, back to his car and catches my eye staring at him and panic comes over his face. He’s been recognized!

I’m sitting eating an ice cream cone and reading a newspaper and little Terrible Tommy about wets his pants because he comes eye to eye with the Ninja he fears eating an ice cream cone. He jumps back in the car and I look at him and laugh. I can see his pissed that he’s been seen.

His wife comes out with Tommy’s treat and he backs out and about runs over a lady and her child trying to get out of the parking lot.

Terrible Tommy Tencredo is a little weasel afraid of his own shadow. He gets all puffed up when he’s around big dumb guys with red necks and shotguns and confederate flags plaster all over their pickup trucks, but Terrible Tommy’s a whimp, ready to pee his pants when confronted.

    Tancredo:
“Every veterans group I ever went and talked to complained about the Veterans Administration and the way it was a bureaucratically-run program that didn’t serve their needs.”

    LIE.

On progressive radio most, it not ALL vets calling in are very happy with their care.

Also, it has been my experience in comparing hospitals, VA hospitals rate top in cleanliness. Because they do not skimp on cost? Rules regarding sanitation are stricter and rigidly followed? And in for profit hospitals,I have seen wall to wall carpeting on floors where patient care is given. That is filthy as there is no way carpet shampooing will eliminate dirt, germs and body fluids that occasionally make it to the carpet.

it’s against the true warrior ethos to support conflict. In the barracks I was in at Ft. Benning they had a quote of Douglas MacArthur painted on the wall.

“The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.”

  30. Keith says:

I went to Wikipedia to see if TT is curently in the pay of the health insurance industry. They didn’t say what he is doing at present, but I was amazed that Wiki knows the future! They mention the Nov. 6 incident and say:

“The clip of this exchange was played numerous times on-line and in political talk shows over the next week.”

  31. Skyler says:

    Katy@28, quoted MacArthur:

“The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.”

And it is because of that, that our veterans deserve the very best medical care that we can, and do, provide. It is beyond my comprehension that someone like Tancredo, or the Holy of Anonymous Holds, Senator Coburn, could deny these men and women the care and benefits they have so earned.

Tommy is a liar and chickenhawk . . . and Marcos smacked his fat yellow cheeks so hard he left feathers in the chair . . . . well done.

Tan Crazy like other Law Makers skipped out of serving in the Military. Notice how Bush and Cheney didn’t service the Country during the Vietnam War but had no problem allowing soldiers to illegally invade Iraq to die. We see the Protesters for the GOP and people like O’Reilly, Beck and many others cheering for more troops and continue the Wars for Cheney. If Obama were to open the DRAFT all this would end because not one Republican who supports this horror will allow their child to serve in the United States Military. Just let others die so the GOP and friends can still get the money. Limbaugh is fighting Obama with his help of his Republican supporters and Law Makers. People often say Rush isn’t the GOP Leader but notice how every Republican who speaks out against Rush quickly bows and ask him for forgiveness.

Why are the advocates of potential violence against our duly elected President the ones who’ve never used a weapon in a military setting? We who have maintain our weapons expertise, but pray we will never have to utilize it.

Thirteen major military and veterans groups have joined forces to get Coburn to release the hod, according to Marine Corp Times. Yet another Republican chickenhawk who sees absolutely nothing wrong with supporting and promoting wars while simultaneously doing everything in his power to make certain that he-and-his don’t have to deal with the consequences. Surprise, surprise — NOT.

In my opinion, promoting a war in which you yourself refuse to fight and/or which you attempt to keep your child from fighting is not only an act of cowardice — it’s ethically unjustifiable. Granted, no one in his or her right mind wants to face the risk of losing a loved one to war — but every soldier is someone’s son or daughter. Whether one is willing to acknowledge this or not, people who support a war while refusing to participate are effectively demanding that other people endure the pain which they refuse to face themselves and from which they believe they should be exempt — which only serves to demonstrate how self-absorbed and callously indifferent such people often are deep down when it comes to other people, despite the religious beliefs which many of them claim to hold.

The chickenhawk crowd; the trolls, Republipimps, and pseudo-conservatives, are always surprised. They’re so fracking wrapped up in their own ego that they think everyone is just like they are. Apart from that, they have no respect; neither self-respect nor respect for others. It does them good to be blindsided occasionally; actual and verbal cream pies seem to work well in reminding them that they aren’t just spouting at a mirror.

Tancredo is a classic. At the first sign of a challenge to his (completely illegitimate and mostly spurious) authority, he throws a tantrum and runs away. He’s very much used to dishing it out and not being on the receiving end. In fact, from COprogressive’s comment @ #25, it’s obvious that the turd has not only arranged to not be on the receiving end, he’s also very much NOT the gentleman.

And that was excellent workmanship on the part of Markos.

  73. Paul the Sax Guy says:

WellstonesGhost, when you see “chickenhawk” on these pages it is NOT in reference to Cooper’s, Sharp Shinned or Redtail Hawks; this blog and it’s commentary is not, in the main, devoted to ornithology or actual raptors.

The word “chickenhawk” in reference to various people goes back at least to the Vietnam War era. At that time, most of the supporters of the war were referred to as “hawks”. When it transpired that some of the politicians who were supporting the war had also managed to evade service in prior wars or during the Cold War, in deference to their verbal courage, but general chickenness, they became the first chickenhawks. At that time, chickenhawk was also slang for an adult male homosexual who had a preference for boys. I think that clinched chickenhawk as an apellation for the politico-military version which had it’s main nesting ground in Washington DC, but could be found bellowing and braying across the land.

No one is maligning the avian ‘chicken hawk’; in fact, the raptors that are called that generally don’t prey on chickens and are hence, misnamed.

I am not one who, in contrast to the shrill loonies, advocates armed resistance… I say “Be Armed” with the voice of reason against the superstition of the Faux-worshipping mob! “Be Armed” with the voice of intelligence against the willful stupidity of the overfed pampered mobocracy. “Be Armed” with the voice of love against those who only know how to preach hatred, division, sedition, treason and rebellion.

So much for their misreading of the 2nd Amendment. It is much more powerful to be armed with those weapons that cannot be confiscated – reason, love, a sound mind, and a logically consistent belief system.

  81. Keith says:

Jefferson was not in the military. He was governor of Virginia. There was no “abandoning of his post”. There was no American army in Virginia at the time. Intelligence had said that the French would arrive in Virginia before Arnold and Cornwallis, but they did not. The whole Virginia government had to flee to Staunton (birthplace of my father and Woodrow Wilson, another civilian) in the Blue Ridge Valley. Jefferson stayed until the British were five minutes away. The Virginia House of Delegates unanimously passed a resolution saying that Jefferson’s conduct at the time was admirable.

Come on Londra, gimme your source. And tell me what country you fought for, when, and where.

  82. delafield says:

There should be a new law in America. Anybody who’s in favor of war must put on a uniform and go to the front battle lines. And that includes chickenhawk Presidents and Vice-Presidents like Bush and Cheney.

  83. Skyler says:

I had a knock down; throw them out argument with my knuckle dragging brother years ago when we illegally went into Iraq. He claimed I was against the war because Bush was president. I said it was wrong irregardless of who was president. If Clinton was president at the time of 9/11 and he initiated the current war with Iraq, I’d disagree and protest Clinton’s decision as well. I hate war. The only result of war is dead bodies, devastated families, devastated countries, devastated economies, et al. However, as much as I despise war, those who serve deserve to be the recipients of their country’s utmost honor: to have their wounds and their family’s wounds fully healed.

To listen to those who cowardly avoid war profess to know what vets want is an additional assault on those who served.

  84. bryan hussein says:

The exchange aside, we should take some time to think about what it is that Tancredo is proposing. Put vets out on the private market?

First, the high frequency of cranial injuries and mental health issues among soldiers returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan would likely make private insurance unattainable and unaffordable- no matter how big the voucher- without the types of regulation on the insurance industry that Republicans have opposed. Second, I’m not sure which veterans groups Mr Tancredo is speaking to, but The VA has consistently enjoyed higher patient satisfaction scores than any private provider.

But yeah, Tom had it coming.

  85. Paul the Sax Guy says:

    OT —

To all my fellow veterans, as Veterans’ Day is coming up, may I be one of the first to say that I hohor your service.

To the chickenhawks… even though mama raised a gentleman, the only response to you is “Eat Shit”

Thank you for your kind attention.

  86. Paul the Sax Guy says:

@85 – let that say, “honor your service.”
    Dad-gum big fingers on a short keyboard….

  89. Pennsylvanianne says:

    Markos was brilliant, as always!
It’s funny, but Republicans are often too quick to wage war and too slow to participate in one. The list of GOP chickenhawks is incredibly loooong, starting with Bush and Cheney. For his service, Markos has much more credibility, in my book, than Tancredo or any of these chickenhawks.

  90. Anders says:

This comment has been voted down. Click to read.

  91. Rodeskawler says:

I have yet to talk to a vet that said they wish they were given vouchers instead of VA benefits.

I also don’t see any reason for someone to apologize for telling the truth. I realize being exposed as a coward is embarrasing, but that could have been circumvented by Tancredo not sticking his head in the sand when he had the chance not to years ago.

Markos is correct. The fascists don’t want the American people to have the chance to experience healhtcare like the rest of the industrialized world, because they know it will be as successful as Social Security and Medicare.

If profiteers don’t have a chance to get their hands on your money, they cannot buy that 5th vacation home.

  92. stewarjt says:

In the words of Captain Wander from the movie “Street Kings,” “You (Kos) fu(ked ‘em (Tancredo) up!”

  93. Above the Clouds says:

Shuster is wrong: Tancredo-style unhinged crazy is not “feisty” by any stretch of the imagination. Did Ed producers call Tancredo and ask him to come on the air for the sole purpose of defending those holocaust photos? Whether they did or not, Tancredo was a disgrace and a joke for taking the bait.

  94. Rab says:

Markos showed how you deal with repugs, forget the respectable rout (they think its weak) and tell it like it is and like cowards they will run away.

  95. Rab says:

I like Big Ed but I don’t why he has that POS Tancredo on his show. That is a low grade of repug.

  96. DonS says:

My brother in law makes over $100 K per year, could get insurance from his employer, is eligible for Medicare — he chooses to continue to receive care through the VA because he is so satisfied at their total performance. I note he has had some delicate issues with his eyes that were a lifesaver.

  97. Cats r Flyfishn says:

Once again, Tancredo showed that he is a coward. He can’t stand the heat so he picks up and toys and leaves, just like a child. This man thought he had presidential qualities. Like Sarah Palin, he is a quitter. Are there any real adults in the Republican Party? So far, all I’ve witnessed is people that behave like children.

  98. Bobwurst says:

londra saysif they [oswald, mcvie] could get elected the fine, do you really think that would happen?

I’m certain they could get the republican nomination…

  99. angels81 says:

As a wounded Vietnam combat vet (67-68) and who use’s the VA, I know of no vet who would give up the VA for any private plan. I will never have to worry about losing my health care if I get some high cost illness. I will never have to worry how I’m going to pay, or if I will lose my house, or bankrupt my family.

If the rest of the people in this country had any clue at how good the VA was, we would have single payer in a heartbeat.

  100. Wiz says:

Most people walking out on their jobs would be fired. So if Tom walked out during a paid interview, then should he be fired?

  101. Bobwurst says:

    Anders says:
eh ? yeh, veterans are wonderfully taken care of, must be why they’re comitting suicide at record numbers.

They’re committing suicide in such great numbers because they spent mulitple tours seeing they comrades in arms killed, because they spent too many sunny afternoons sorting out body parts into piles for the next of kin at car bombing scenes, because when they come home they meet too many right wing idiots who think war is just like an episode from “Combat” you moran.

  102. eyesopen says:

Who missed the procedures here? Everyone knows that Republican propaganda is supposed to pass without comment when it is regurgitated. It’s the polite thing to do. You wouldn’t say anything if someone threw up on your shoes, would you? You wouldn’t wave garlic and a cross at a vampire, would you? If Markos Moulitsas were more “polite”, Tom Tancredo could have hung around to lie some more, like Republicans believe to be their right.

Ah yes, yet another instance where we see that laughter is indeed the best medicine.

  103. eyesopen says:

Oh, and by the way, Tancredo’s advocacy of vouchers to cover private insurance is still paid for by the government with tax money. It’s just another of those little things that Republicans depend on folks not noticing.

  104. angels81 says:

Bobwurst, don’t wast your time with slugs like Anders, they will never understand or care. I once had a guy tell me he knew what combat was like, because he had read a lot of books. Slugs like them have no idea and never will, so I found the best thing to do is ignore them.

  105. Above the Clouds says:

Was Tancredo more upset about being called out for his depression or for his lies about the VA? Either way–he is a disgraced clown and a fool. The lesson of this whole sad episode was the fact that the people of Colorado once thought this idiot was capable of representing them.

  106. Badger says:

In the Past, Health Insurance WAS affordable. It was NONPROFIT (blue cross /blue shield, kaiser) and insurance employees and health care providers made a decent living.

Then Corporations Went for the Profits. They accomplished this by offering Lower Rates to Healthy People (Cherry Picking) and Denying Coverage for Pre Existing Conditions (Recision).

Health Insurance Corporations employed their staff to find ways to deny coverage, and cancel policies for those who needed it Most…sick people.

This forced the uninsured into the emergency rooms…where health care is Most Expensive…and Costs are shifted to everyone else. And the Uninsured postponed treatment until it became Critical…and more difficult and Expensive to treat.

The Health Care system went off the Rails…but Profits and Salaries for CEOs went thru the roof.

Congress is in session Right Now… Debating Health Care reform…and they Need to Fix this . Now.

  107. evangenital says:

    All repiggies lie.

    It’s in their DNA.

Why would any of us ever want to vote for these liars?

They only look out for themselves and their corporate buddies.

    Tancredo is a lying SOS.

  108. Cats r Flyfishn says:

Tancredo’s voucher system is just another means of handing over tax dollars to private insurance. The GOP loves privatizing Government programs. Bush and Cheney even went as far as creating a “private army” to fight in Iraq. All those tax dollars that could be serving our veterans went to Blackwater. If Social Security had been privatized as Bush and Santorum wanted, the Wall Street crash would have cleaned out the account and seniors would have nothing to fall back on as they watched their retirements being wiped out by Wall Street greed. The GOP is the party of “tax and steal”. They try every way possible to hand over tax payers money to their corporate friends.

  109. ljm says:

    http://www.awolbush.com/whoserved.html

If you haven’t read/kept this site then you should take a look! Good list to use to shut up the chicken coop.

  110. Cats r Flyfishn says:

After I graduated college with my nursing degree, I went to work at the VA Hospital. I worked in the Addictions Unit. The vets received excellent care. The staff conducted themselves as caring professionals and there were always a sufficient number of staff available. It is true… there was a waiting list. Sometimes I wish that I had never left that job. Working for the VA Hospital was one of the best jobs I had. Even though I worked at a psychiatric hospital, I always felt safe.

The GOP has no shame. By placing a hold on further funding veterans benefits, it shows how immoral Republicans are.

  111. Cats r Flyfishn says:

    ljm… thanks for the link.

  112. RUCerious says:

    Paul the Sax Guy @#85
I don’t think I’d mind having my service hohored. If that means what I think it might>???!!

  113. ljm says:

Thanks for the feedback, Cats r Flyfishn. The list is getting a bit old but it’s still very telling isn’t it? I don’t know if there’s an update. It just amazes me how one sided it is, particularly if you go all the way to the bottom. The talkers are in a fantasy world, I think.

  114. Bozo The Neoclown says:

    well, tom,
if you don’t want to be called out for being a hypocritical pussy-boy coward then don’t be a hypocritical pussyboy coward.

  115. rat618 says:

Folks this could turn out to be quite humorous. I can see Tom Tancredo’s current health insurer raising his rates or canceling him altogether for his admission of a pre-existing condition of depression. I don’t think anyone believes that he has disclosed this little fact to his current health care provider.

  116. Bozo The Neoclown says:

as a former congressman, tommy tanCRYdo has one of those “government run” healthcare policies he rallies against for the rest of his life. courtesy of the u.s. taxpayer

  117. Shayne says:

If Tancredo ever runs for office again this will be a yummy piece of video to use in his opponents ad campaign.

  118. mauman says:

Once again chickenhawk Tancredo runs from a fight.

Tancredo is an advocate for small government (except for military and war issues). But check out his employment history.

1970 – 1976 Teacher, Drake Junior High School, Arvada CO.
1977 – 1982 Colorado State House of Representatives
    1981 – 1993 Regional Director, U.S. Dept. of Education
1993 – 1998 President, Independence Institute, Golden CO.
    1999 – 2009 U.S. House of Representatives

Up until he left Congress in January, Tancredo worked for about 39 years. For all but at most six of those years he worked in government.

  119. Leftside Annie says:

Paul the Sax Guy, RUcerious – and all the other vets on TP – I humbly thank you for your service; I’m very grateful that you had the courage to put yourselves in harm’s way for me and the rest of your fellow Americans. Thank you from my heart.

And Paul TSG – some hot smokin’ awesome posts on this thread! BRAVO!!!

  120. What the GOP REALLY means ... says:

You libs have hit my last g damn nerve.

I was furious last night, racing back and forth in my basement. No wall went untouched.

Markos Molitsos is now #1 on my black list. Osama Bin Laden falls further down to #120.

We will cordone off anything about our past to prop up our agenda and reserve the right to mislead the American people into thinking that our special “private” interests will trickle down to them.

    I am fed up.

I don’t care what rebuttal, what fact, what point you libs feel the need to make. Our status as chickenhawking, buddy-dealing bullshitters is none of your f ucking business.

I will now email Fox and demand they send Jesse Waters after him with a vengeance.

  121. Paul the Sax Guy says:

Annie @119 – Thank you, dear. Every day there’s something on TP that gets my ire up, but Tommy the chickenhawk and his defenders just frankly piss me off.

OT – apparently we live pretty close together – I’m in Panorama City.

  122. Fred says:

HF, hard to do that with your tail tucked between your legs.

  123. What the GOP REALLY means ... says:

What is “HF”? Some type of deferment?

  124. Paul the Sax Guy says:

    OK, HF, here’s a retort, loser….

Kos may not speak for all vets, but he damn sure speaks for me.

Oh, and here’s a nice cup of STFU.

    How’s that for a retort?

  125. Fred says:

hf, tom was a coward durning nam and he has just shown that he’s still a coward. You must be one too.

It’s a solid retort. Just because you don’t like it means less than nothing. It’s the truth and I wouldn’t expect you to even get it for that reason alone.

  126. Paul the Sax Guy says:

Oh, how cute… the trolls are voting us down.

    Here, trolly trolly trolly….

  127. What the GOP REALLY means ... says:

    HF says:

    “democrats still scrambling for votes”

    Cool headline…..

Sure, demblibs are the ones who can’t get their act out of the south. Please run with that.

  128. Trollspotter says:

HF is a proven racist who’s argued against race mixing, he says he hates the 9/11 families and he wants to drown the President.

    Why would that be?

  129. What the GOP REALLY means ... says:

At least Molitsos is a vet and can speak for many of them as it pertains to the overrall sound quality of the Va.

We’re just a bunch of ass-grabbbing chickenhawks “scrambling” for staff jobs at the pentagon to make up (read: look tough) for our pussified deferment days.

  130. Trollspotter says:

    HF says:

Tancredo should have knocked that loser out on tv…….

He can’t, Jeffy. Tancredo’s a nutless, gutless incompetent coward.

    Just like you.

  131. Paul the Sax Guy says:

See, HF — there’s the difference – I find nothing in your post at 132 with which I disagree, except that Markos misspelled “mercenaries” in what was, no doubt, a simple typo.

I honor his service – when was yours?

  132. Fred says:

HF means yellow from Head to Foot

  133. What the GOP REALLY means ... says:

First the troll claims the comment was impossible to locate; now he supposedly has the comment.

Is he trying to pass himself off as a Grade-A detective or are you libs rightfully seeing him as the prosecutor planting evidence?

Given your higher education levels, I’d vouch for the latter.

  134. Bilbo Hussein Baggins says:

Anyone besides me find it interesting that the people who are out there defending the Republic party and their policies are not the sitting representatives, but the has been’s? The Republic party is having to dig pretty deep into its has been legislators to defend the indefensible.

  135. What the GOP REALLY means ... says:

Name one lib poster who changed names besides YOU. Thank you in advance.

  136. Paul the Sax Guy says:

Never changed my name, and, HF – I’m one who tries never to post anything online that I wouldn’t say to a person’s face…

So here’s another cup of STFU

  137. Fred says:

HF wants to change the subject now that he’s been pegged as as yellow.

Tom’s yellow too. that’s the subject of the thread troll.

  138. What the GOP REALLY means ... says:

Repercussions like a return to republican power that handed Wall Street unprecedented power and outsourced the military to folks paid several times more than your strategic corporal?

  139. Trollspotter says:

I guess cowards just don’t see how ridiculous this sounds in light of the bush administration.

  141. Exit Stage Left says:

  142. Paul the Sax Guy says:

@146 – it’s you, asshat, that’s being voted down, not Kos’ comments. (and, I have to say, I did not vote down on that post, out of respect for the contents, not you.)

  143. What the GOP REALLY means ... says:

    HF says:

You losers all supposedly agree with makos comment, but, you are voting it down to make it go away? Kinda strange…..

The comment already went away because it doesn’t exist. You’re ripe to be barred for prosecutorial misconduct.

  144. Fred says:

    HF says:
    Kinda strange…..

HF, if you could comprehend the English language you would read your own posts here. Then you would understand strange.

I’m pretty sure you will find that those who have committed suicide were not under the care of the VA. The problem is that the Bush Administration has under funded the VA for years and there are now long waiting lists for vets to be able to receive care from the VA.

  147. Fred says:

    HF called us losers….heh.

Irony just fly’s over their heads.

  148. SoapBox says:

Go, Markos, Go! You did good work!

  149. What the GOP REALLY means ... says:

    Good work.

  150. just the bleepn facts says:

  152. What the GOP REALLY means ... says:

I’m sure markos would like to make it go away or pin it on someone else, but, he can’t! It’s on the internet, forever!

You really are dumber than the average troll. You believe the people who read Daily Kos have sympathy for the rapist/murderer types that work for Blackwater. If they had any integrity they would stay in the military and work for the government and follow the rules.

  161. just the bleepn facts says:

  168. Paul the Sax Guy says:

@172 – yes, asshat – let’s change the subject – is this evidence of how you think you’ve “won?”

Why is it that the wingers tend to think in “win/lose” and zero-sum terminology?

Ah… must be because anything more advanced than binary answers causes meltdown.

  169. Shayne says:

  170. just the bleepn facts says:

So, this asshat that calls himself “markos” claims to speak for all veterans? The same loser that said “screw ‘em?” Tancredo should have knocked that loser out on tv…….

  171. What the GOP REALLY means ... says:

Madam blow up is going to slap you in line, moran.

  172. Fred says:

I want to give special thanks to HF(Jeffie) for this mornings display. It’s always good to have performances like this to show to moderates and even right leaning folk. They are always shocked.

You do progressives a great service.

  173. just the bleepn facts says:

He erased it from the Google cache and the Internet Archive, and redirects the “permalink” on the page to an unrelated page at his site.

Because those where Republican “mercenaries” – you know blackwater – who were there to get paid? And not “soldiers”?

You claimed Markos attacked “soldiers” – when did that happen again?

Oh right. You “lied” again patsy! ;)

  176. What the GOP REALLY means ... says:

Shayne, I’ve erased my RNC performance reviews from the Internets Archive and teh Google Cache.

Michelle needs to investigate the VA patient list for unAmerican activities.

  179. just the bleepn facts says:

Poor HF our little fascist patsy is so “retarded” she thought blackwater mercenaries were “veterans”? How “embarrassing” of her! Just when it seemed she couldn’t possibly look more stupid! LOL!

  180. Paul the Sax Guy says:

    HF,

Xe (formerly Blackwater) is pretty much the military arm of the Republican party, and are there because of Erik Prince’s dominionist beliefs.

Our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines are there because they enlisted to defend our country.

    Next?

  181. delafield says:

Tom Tancredo ran off the set like a two year old child. Maybe he had to make a quick phone call to his mommy.

  182. just the bleepn facts says:

Tell us HF, did you serve? Or are you another “chickenhawk” attacking a “veteran” – Markos? Never mind. We “all” know you’re too big of a p*ssy to leave your momma’s basement! LOL! ;)

  183. Saint Augustine says:

    Shayne says:

    HF = Horsesh#t Flinger?
    HF = Human Feces?
    HF = Huge Failure?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

    Hopeless fu(kup
    Humongous fool

  184. Paul the Sax Guy says:

St. Augustine @196 (love yer mama, St. Helena!), I vote for the latter.

That’s how HF that patsy behaves. That’s how all of the Republican p*ssies behave. Rove nearly had a cow when he thought he was being called a liar by Dean – poor little p*ssy “liar”! This is why it’s important to get in the face of Republicans – they are by nature “fear” based and cowards! They’re bluffing, just like the little teabagging p*ssy that fell on the ground and claimed he’d been assaulted and appeared in a wheelchair at the next GOP rally.

    GOP = coward faker

  186. just the bleepn facts says:

    Saint Augustine says:
    Hopeless fu(kup

    Hasbeen Failure
    Helpless Fat*ss

Those come to mind when I see teabaggers in general… ;)

  187. Trollspotter says:

Posters who know Jeffy Bovine much better than I do have stated that he revealed over on the Olbermann stalking site that he extracts semen from horses for money.

    HF = Horse Fluffer.

  188. Wayne A. Schneider says:

    HF says:
Markos Moulitsas Zuniga of Daily Kos has done his best to make it hard to find the comment he posted on April 1, 2004, about the Americans who were torn apart and hung from a bridge in Fallujah. He erased it from the Google cache and the Internet Archive, and redirects the “permalink” on the page to an unrelated page at his site.

Personally, I find it hard to believe that anyone can get something erased from the Google cache. I mean, the entire point of having the Google cache is to keep a permanent record of everything that gets posted on the internet. In fact, that’s how TP is able to show us stuff that got taken down later by the original posters, by finding the Google cache image of the page. (I have never heard of the “Internet Archive”, but I imagine it’s the same thing as the Google cache.)

Maybe the reason no one can find it is because it never happened? I don’t know, but that seems a far more reasonable explanation than that Kos was able to do something no one else can do.

  189. Wayne A. Schneider says:

While it’s true that a majority of the people Blackwater/Xe hires are veterans, once they are employed by Blackwater/Xe, they are no longer properly called “soldiers” but “mercenaries”. And they should in no way be equated to our active duty soldiers, who put their lives on the line for love of country, not for love of money.

    Why would that be?

    Plagiarism again patsy – that’s a “crime”.

How many times do we have to tell you to “use your own words”. Considering most of your posts are single line “childish” words – is it possible you don’t have enough of your own words to look like more than a 12 year old little boy/girl? LOL!

Stop committing crimes – jackbooted p*ssy!

  195. just the bleepn facts says:

    HF says:
Too bad you were banned from lgf! ;)

Too big of a p*ssy to admit you’re a criminal and a liar? LOL! Of course you are Horse Fluffer!

As for others posting at “lgf”, you still don’t understand how the inertubes work do you d**chebag? LOL! What a moron!

  196. just the bleepn facts says:

    Fred says:
what’s lgf? You never hear it on MSM like you do Think Progress.

It’s the site she plagiarized and refused to give credit to. It’s where the search engine found her “plagiarism”. Patsy our stalker d**chebag still doesn’t get “search engines”! LOL! ;)

  197. just the bleepn facts says:

Come one Horse Fluffer – why did you lie about a “real” veteran Markos while defending “fake” veterans – mercenaries? Chickenhawk much – fluffer?

You got nothing you useless d**chebag, just STFU like a good little house b*tch…

  198. What the GOP REALLY means ... says:

I’d like to patty your cakes. Meet me in the office. It’ll be dark.

  199. Fred says:

HF, you’re funny. What have you done but make an ass of yourself here?

  200. just the bleepn facts says:

    HF says:
    Oh, contraire!

That’s you, you’re contrary to the facts and defend mercenaries and chickenhawks while attacking veterans. P*ssy.

  201. just the bleepn facts says:

    HF says:
patty cakes, you’re desperation showing, again….

Jeffy bovine the horse fluffer, you’re desperation is showing, again. Along with your poor grammar, stupidity, hypocrisy, and lies where you “desperately” attacked a veteran by “lying”. But you got caught – liar. Next?

  202. just the bleepn facts says:

    HF – Horses Fanny

    LOL!

  203. Paul the Sax Guy says:

HF, I’ve seen no intelligent discourse from you, more than snarky rw talking points, no doubt courtesy of Beck, Limbaugh, and the rest.

All I’ve seen from you are off-topic out-of-context comments, snarky, indefensible social commentary, and no evidence that you ever swore the oath to defend your country that we veterans of the US military have.

If you have a cogent comment to make, and can defend your views, I’m certain that at least a few of us will engage you intelligently.

Ah, but there’s the rub — one cannot truly defend the indefensible.

I see your dilemma, and offer you another cup of STFU.

  204. Winski says:

I lived in Tommy Turdblossum Jr.’s district. The people that had any brain cells still turned on HATED this jerk.

Remember: He’s also the one that doesn’t believe in evolution as demonstrated when he was asked the group question in the 2008 Re-Thuglican debate-o-rama….

This guy is an ass and will always be so. Kos punked him good and I don’t expect Tommy Turdblssum to be showing his face anytime soon to be laughed off the stage…

  208. Paul the Sax Guy says:

@223, at least, thanks for the “kid” — going on 53.
I’ve seen the same things you have, and yet have a different perspective.

While LBJ may have been a Democrat, he was not a progressive.

The so-called liberal social programs, while not perfect by any standard, are anything but failure, as an objective view would reveal, but then again, the word is “objective”

  209. Fred says:

I agree Wayne. I don’t understand many things that are going on. I have learned that Obama is a player though and am glad he is on our side.

We do need the public option and I have to assume that it’s just too big a leap for Americans to make comfortably in one step.

I think the republicans worst fear is that what we do get will be the foot in the door to advancing eventually to a public option. On this, I hope they are correct in their fears.

  210. gully foyle says:

Markos shamed Tancredo so the only thing Tancredo could do was to pull up his knickers and run off. It was either that or change the subject–as we see HF doing on this thread.

These SOB’s was too ashamed to face real vets and answer for their bullchit.

Good riddance–to both Tancredo and the troll.

  211. gully foyle says:

Oh and now Mr. Dook is leaving his droppings (prevarications) on the thread.

    Moving right along…

  212. Paul the Sax Guy says:

HF @228 – I’m a real vet. Do you presume to question this?

  213. Spiffarino says:

Markos’ best line of the night:

“I’m not pretending anything. I told you straight up.”

Markos Moulitsas has something Tancredo doesn’t: Guts — something that spineless tw*t will never have.

  214. Paul the Sax Guy says:

Again the question remains, HF – when was your service? Dates and branch of service requested.

    Oh, and….

    STFU

  215. Spiffarino says:

PtSG @ 231: How dare you impugn HF’s service! He is clearly a member of the Fighting Rightwing Keyboardist Battalion.

Unfortunately, you will never actually see a soldier of the FRKB as they are all stationed in their parents’ basements. However, I’m sure HF is wearing the official dress uniform complete with back flap and footies…unless he’s an officer in which case he will have the bunny ears as well.

  216. Paul the Sax Guy says:

    Spiff @ 232,

You owe me a keyboard – whiskey & salad spewed all over both! LOL

  217. Paul the Sax Guy says:

umm… meant both keyboard and screen.

  218. Paul the Sax Guy says:

Here’s an example for our chickenhawk trolls.

My beloved son-in-law, and father of my three beautiful grandsons, is a Gulf War Jr. vet, x2. He and my daughter are very conservative Republicans and, self-described born-again, spirit-filled Christians.

We can sit and discuss issues with respect, because we realize that each other has a different perspective.

Our chickenhawk trolls know nothing but reichwing talking points, and wait to respond until becky or limbaugh give them the points.

My kids can discuss our differences intelligently and coherently… I still disagree, but respect that their points are made from their own worldview.

So, HF, and the rest of you lily-livered cowards… can you articulate your views apart from that which are pronounced by the right-wing ideologues?

  219. fleetw1978 says:

That was hilarious. Same thing happened to DOM G in Philly talk radio today. Except it was his show and he got schooled by a caller when DOM decided to blast Obama as commander in cheif and not going to Ft Hood today. Caller kept pushing Dom, “werent you old enough to serve in Vietnam?” Dom: Yes I was. Caller: well did you get a deferment? Dom: NO. Caller: Well you didnt get drafted? Dom: No. Caller: why didnt you serve? Dom: I was in college, Ive covered that. Caller:”WOW” Disconnect. I love it when the chickenhawks get called on thier cowardice. Which is exactly what they are. COWARDS. What else do you call someone who will send you or your sons and daughters to fight and die, when they themselves seek any way out.. Again…. Talk show hosts ==COWARDS.

  220. Lora says:

Isn’t all too typical that the chickenhawk claims to know best what the veterans and/or troops in action want? I hope Tancredo goes into another depression so deep that he will never be able to appear again on TV.

  221. Virtual Pebble says:

    @ 212. HF says: Oh, contraire! November 7th, 2009 at 12:58 pm

Uh, HorseFluffer, it’s only pronounced ‘oh contraire’; it’s High Church Frog and it’s written, “Au contraire” and it’s meaning is ‘on the contrary’.

It’s unfortunate that those Blackwater/Xe dudes got whacked in Fallujah, but they weren’t supposed to be there. I also would note that unlike our own, our Marines, our troopers, the private security types don’t seem to be inclined to make sure they bring everyone back from an operation.

But then again, the Blackwater/Xe boyos are just there for the paycheck and there’s no unit honor to be upheld. They’re even a disgrace to some of the other mercenary units, who actually practice soldiery for hire, rather than security guard with too many guns and too little sense.

  222. linzloo08 says:

    ahhh the irony: IT BURNS!!

  223. SlappyBastinado says:

Just like I said……..things are spinning out of control. Obama is as lost as anyone in government I have ever seen. Those radical book learned theory’s are meeting head long into reality and it ain’t pretty. Keep your cameras ready its going to get ugly! And I will be watching from my front porch high in the hills and laughing my assoff. Got your silver and gold hid good when the dollar crashes? Plenty of food, water and ammo? You poor bastids in the low lying areas of the big cities are screwed, if global warming don’t getcha, H1N1, might….or how about riots in the streets, burning buildings…….run……run to the hills!

  224. Ape-Man says:

Tancredo had a chance to feign injury and escape so he did it. That’s his way – always taking the easy way out. He could have stayed and lost fair and square, but then he would have learned something and that hurts, right Tancredo?

  225. Ape-Man says:

    240 SlappyBastinado says:

Your visions are just echoes of Bush world. They will pass. If not they have pills for that.

  226. linzloo08 says:

    I can’t believe I missed this, urrgggh!
Didn’t he look stupid on DWTS, though?

  227. linzloo08 says:

The post-election GOP strategy: when faced with tough questions….LEAVE!! Haha lol.

  228. The Shadow says:

Good for Markos. Tom Tancredo is nothing but a coward who acts tough with other peoples children’s lives. This proves that he’s the punk that I always knew he was. He was too much of a coward to fight in Viet Nam, but he’s a war hawk now. I’m glad that punk walked off the set, because cowards don’t deserve to be heard when it comes to war or veterans. I’m a veteran and this coward makes me sick to my stomach every time I see his weak ass on TV. Why didn’t he have the nerve to get mad during Viet Nam. The punk was too busy trying a avoid the possibly of getting his a s s shot off. Dick-head Cheney is a coward bastard too, and he is always running his fat mouth about war. You didn’t see his coward a s s fighting for this country furing Viet Nam either. He’s a punk too, weak a s s, big mouth, no guts.

  229. CarmanK says:

Markos was really good on the Ed Show. It was great to see Tancredo back off. His republican rhetoric was just too much to bear.

  230. EugeneDebs says:

    SlappyBeggerino

Exactly what was the point of your spewing the ignorance you have been programmed with? Was it to highlight once more just hos incredibly stupid you are? We already know and there is no more pity for you here. Just STFU you will ALWAYS be a moron

  231. EugeneDebs says:

Ok HF you are stupid beyond belief. We all know so you can STFU now

  232. ctcadguy says:

Why apologize? He said nothing but the truth.

  233. WellstonesGhost says:

    Markos ROCKS! That was FABULOUS!

Tancredo is also a racist with a racist staff. Remember his little Korean racist assistant convicted THIS year of a hate crime, karate chopping a black woman in DC because she was BLACK – Marcus Epstein, NOT a Law Student at UVA. Just a criminal and a racist working for one.

    Go YOU HUSKIES!
