This morning, the House began consideration of the rule for debate of the House health care bill. As the Democratic Women’s Caucus took to the microphone on the House floor to offer their arguments for how the bill would benefit women, House Republicans — led by Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) — repeatedly talked over, screamed, and shouted objections. “I object, I object, I object, I object, I object,” Price interjected as Rep. Lois Capps (D-CA) tried to hold the floor.
In an effort to delay and derail the proceedings, the Republicans continually talked over the Democratic women for half an hour. They sought to prevent the debate by calling for unnecessary “parliamentary inquiries” and requests for “expanding the debate” by an hour.
After being repeatedly interrupted by Republican shouts, Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy (D-OH) observed:
Do I not have the right to be able to continue my sentence without objections that are trying to censor my remarks here on the floor that I have a right to make as a member of this House?
Watch a compilation:
The presiding chair of the House, Rep. John Dingell (D-MI), tried to assuage the Republican ruckus, without much success. The debate must be conducted with “a measure of comity and grace and decency,” Dingell urged. “There’s no advantage to be achieved by making all this fuss,” he told the Republicans.
Put it on TV. Show America.
November 7th, 2009 at 12:36 pmHF, you got your ass handed to you on the tom thread. You a glutton for punishment?

um… really? … ’cause it sure seems there is…

Pay no mind to democrats fighting amongst themselves, ok?
Pay no mind to “republicans gone wild”, that doesn’t reflect the “reality” of the situation. Does it Horse Fluffer? LOL!
Why are you Republicans such misogynists and bigots? Insecure much?
November 7th, 2009 at 12:45 pmHF says:
Pay no mind to democrats fighting amongst themselves, ok?
A better question is why you Republicans lie so much? Like you did on the Tancredo thread when you called greedy “mercenaries” – “veterans”?

HF, back to get your ass kicked again, eh?
Horse Fluffer has no self esteem, so her getting her *ss kicked reminds her of getting her butt tweaked by her daddy. She thinks that sort of “negative” attention means “love”. Poor little pathetic nutjob is unphased by “reality” or being made a fool of. She needs “serious” medical care – like the kind one might find with health care reform! ;)

Jeffy Bovine our little patsy is a Horse Fluffer for her day job. It’s why she can be here nearly 24×7, always one hand free for a one line stupid remark! LOL! ;)
November 7th, 2009 at 12:51 pmwhy does dingell keep talking about “respect” and “both sides of the aisle”?
it’s obvious which side is being DISrespectful and childish…
that was very hard to watch and listen to… worse than childish…
November 7th, 2009 at 12:52 pmSomeone needs to make commercials about how awful this party is. Whether or not a specific election is at stake is irrelevant. If most of the populace (who I can GUARANTEE you does not watch CSPAN) saw these things on a regular basis, I doubt Democrats would have much to worry about for a long time.
November 7th, 2009 at 12:52 pmIt should be obvious to all by now that the Republicans cannot win this debate on the merits of their arguments, because their arguments have no merits. So they will try to fend of defeat using every method, ethical or not, that they have. It makes absolutely no difference to them at all that they are wrong, they still think they can “win” this debate. And in the end, that’s all that matters to them. That they “win” and the Democrats “lose”. They don’t care one bit about the lives lost due to their stalling tactics.
And the truly sad and pathtic part is that if the Republicans are successful in their efforts, and there is no meaningful reform of our health care system, they will further lie and say it is a victory for the American people, that they won “fair and sqaure”, that the people heard both sides of the debate and rejected the “Democrat plan”, and that they were right all along. And they will believe every lie they’ll tell.
November 7th, 2009 at 12:53 pmHF decends even further into oblivion while thinking he is relevant. How sad.
You make a great promotion for progressives. No one, and I mean no one, wants to be associated with the likes of you.

November 7th, 2009 at 1:00 pmHow is it that this is allowed?? If students in grade school screamed & interrupted another student or the teacher, they would be removed at once. The GOP’s arrogant, spoiled, bullying tactics reveal what horrifically bad role models they are for young people. And why would ANYONE extend a debate in order to listen to 60 more minutes of GOP tripe? Kick these idiots out, & do it quickly. Debate? Repubs & tea-baggers have no desire to do any debating; they want only to obstruct & destroy democracy.

It’s called “Leadership by Example”, a concept totally lost on today’s Republican Party.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:01 pmLiz Morrison says:

It’s called “Leadership by Example”, a concept totally lost on today’s Republican Party.
That’s not leadership, it’s letting a child walk all over you. Leadership would give them a “timeout” and call them out for their bad behavior….
November 7th, 2009 at 1:03 pmIt’s comments like Bleepin’s that the gasbag-farthards seize upon to show how awful progressives are. If she/he/it really is a progressive, than keep your disgusting little daydreams to yourself.
As for the House Vote: If there is a group willing to sponsor a TV ad showing these jerks acting like 4 month old monkeys, I’ll contribute.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:05 pmOh, I’m sure Democrats will run videos like this in 2010.
Videos of Republicans, especially men, trying to silence women in Congress, particularly when they were talking about issues important to many women, won’t sit well with a lot of voters.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:06 pmI think the dems are letting them show their asses. I believe that this will be news soon even if it takes Barney Franks to push it.
America deserves a good look at these people. It would be our best tool against them.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:06 pm“Leadership by Example”…

i’ll never understand why troolls such as the mindless one here now is given ANY kind of attention…
never…
November 7th, 2009 at 1:06 pmjust the bleepin, I find Waynes posts to be intelligent and on the money. Just because you point out facts doesn’t mean you are a pessimist. We have to observe reality in order to deal with it in a positive way.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:08 pmHorses Fanny is glorifying being a childish d**chebag. Just shows what poor parents Conservatives are. They don’t teach kids manners, values or proper adult behavior and we get Horses Fannies as a result.

Okay, I’m positive the Republicans have been lying throughout this debate. I’m positive they have been negotiating in bad faith. I’m postive they don’t have your best interests in mind. Is that positive enough for you?

November 7th, 2009 at 1:09 pmThank you, Fred. I enjoy reading your posts, too.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:10 pmWe need no further proof that the GOPers have the mentality of a 2 year old having temper tantrums. They continue to follow their role model, George W. Bush. The 43rd President was well known for his temper tantrums and other childlike behavior. One has to be missing gray matter between the ears to even consider voting for these GOPer children.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:12 pmWayne, I wish I had your communication skills.
I envy you and Ralph and some others here. You know who you are.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:12 pmFred says:
just the bleepin, I find Waynes posts to be intelligent and on the money.
Actually they often contain only part of the facts.
Fred says:
Just because you point out facts doesn’t mean you are a pessimist.
They often are, but no big deal. If he prefers to focus on the glass half empty it’s his right.
Fred says:
We have to observe reality in order to deal with it in a positive way.
Observing reality has nothing to do with focusing on the negative. Observing the negative and the positive as part of the whole and navigating through most people find more productive. For instance while complaining about the GOP, Wayne fails to give credit to the huge momentum in Congress towards getting this issue done. A momentum that has taken us closer than we’ve ever been and that has us on the brink of success. That’s also dealing with reality, and not just the pessimistic aspects of it…

November 7th, 2009 at 1:14 pmHF, why don’t you want to talk about your “off the rail” leadership or lack therof?
November 7th, 2009 at 1:15 pmThese next 2 years are going to determine whether this country moves up and out or falls into a pit. I don’t want to sound dramatic but this fight on health care may very well be a fight for America’s soul.

Wow! Talk about jack-booted GOP thugs! These bastards don’t give a tinkers damn about civility, reason or process.

Good luck!
November 7th, 2009 at 1:22 pmWhoops, dasm at #30 beat me to it.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:22 pmRepublicans have now taken their rude and boorish Town Hall tactics into the House of Representatives.
They sound like two-year olds with their incessantly repeated “I object, I object, I object, I object, I object, I object, I object, I object, I object, I object, I object, I object, I object, I object, I object….”
I wonder if, for each “I object”, they receive a donation from the health insurance industry into their campaign funds.
But the sad fact of the matter is, there are millions of misinformed Americans cheering on each objection. We must redouble our efforts to oust all Republicans from elected positions, as well as their Blue Dog and Independent lackeys.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:23 pmK liz, Wayne points out the reality which is that republicans do this all the time and have been very successful at it and you want to condemn him for that?
If you ignore the inherent danger and forge forth you will continue to lose.
Who are these new democrats that are kicking ass and taking names? I see the same people, reasonable and calm for the most part and not engaging in the hystronics with the gop.
It worked for us in 06 and 08. Now you suggest that now that we are succeeding that we stop doing what we are doing and adopt the republican methods?
November 7th, 2009 at 1:25 pmThat’s why I love being a member of this f uckin party. You can go hog wild. I say they slip off the panties of every female rep and sniff them in unison before the gavel.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:27 pmjust the bleepn facts, are you trying to chase everybody out of here today?
November 7th, 2009 at 1:27 pmjust the, actually, it has been you who has attacked known progressives on this board this morning. Not the other way around.

November 7th, 2009 at 1:28 pmShayne says:

This is what I was referring to Liz. Many of the regulars would rather attack their fellow liberals than stand together and fight republicans. Shayne and Katy are both famous for this, you should have seen them during the primaries…

November 7th, 2009 at 1:32 pmShayne, that would add up.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:32 pmI don’t see Wayne’s posts (like the one @20) as pessimistic. I think he has a good handle on how the right will spin situations and how that spin will be amplified by the main stream and right wing media.
One can barely be sentient without some level of disappointment with the way the story of the past upteen years has been told to us by most of popular media. To predict the outcome of Democratic capitulation on healthcare is not pessimism, it is a warning, and I think, a cogent one. He would not give a warning if he did not hope to avert a situation he knows could be avoided.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:32 pmHF says:
factless, taking your own party to task from time to time is a good thing. Try it some time….
So when are Republicans ever going to give this a try? LOL!
November 7th, 2009 at 1:32 pmAs Fred pointed out RHF, you’re the one attacking progressives. You’re the one chasing people out of here today. Hillary is happy as Secretary of State as she should be. You should get over your bitterness from the primaries. Many of us were afraid Republicans had lots of dirt on Hillary and that’s why they were pulling for her to win the nomination. It wasn’t personal it was politics.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:33 pmInstead of arguing among ourselves, we could be looking at the Yin and Yang of politics. One must understand the negative in order to appreciate the positive.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:33 pmThanks Cats R Flyin. I wish I could put my thoughts into words better sometimes.

November 7th, 2009 at 1:36 pmLiz, I had been following your posts with interest until this morning. The statement above should embarrass you. You have no idea what you are saying.
Get down off your high horse and engage the progressive community instead of coming here thinking you can run things.
You are acting just like the gop.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:37 pmNo one suggests we shout back at the repugs, all I say is a strong voice and sense of outrage is needed. President Obama is not winning this debate for that very reason. You don’t reason with repugs, you steamroll them, (politically of course).
November 7th, 2009 at 1:38 pmShayne says:
As Fred pointed out RHF, you’re the one attacking progressives. You’re the one chasing people out of here today.
Actually I said wayne was “pessimistic” and a bit of a “debbie downer”, but that was “OK”. It was you and the rest of the “progressives” that then piled onto me. Way to avoid any personal responsibility.
Shayne says:
Hillary is happy as Secretary of State as she should be. You should get over your bitterness from the primaries.
Hey, I’m over it, and I hope that Obama gets another 4 years. The thought of a Republican follow on is scary. I’m not the one “piling on” and hold a grudge – that’s you sweet cheeks!
Shayne says:
Many of us were afraid Republicans had lots of dirt on Hillary and that’s why they were pulling for her to win the nomination.
Pathetic excuse. Republicans fabricate dirt (muslim, birth certificate, etc.,) so if that’s what you were “thinking”, Rush did his job in helping you to destroy the most capable and best candidate.
Shayne says:
It wasn’t personal it was politics.
Yet you managed to make it personal by posting those same Republican “personal” attacks against her on this blog. Your responses seemed completely personal to me.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:39 pmThese outbursts and childish tactics are the very reason the GOP is unfit to lead – or just unfit.

November 7th, 2009 at 1:40 pmREAL Americans KNOW that Bush and Cheney are TRAITORS who STILL should be held ACCOUNTABLE for their WAR CRIMES and TREASON.

November 7th, 2009 at 1:40 pmYes, you have resorted back to your old ways of spewing offensiveness in every post.

Projection and stupid remarks. If you leave because the “subject was changed”, I have pity on you. Nothing but pity.

The Price was right for the insurance companies!
November 7th, 2009 at 1:43 pmjust the bleepn facts and Liz Morrison started by attacking Wayne when they didn’t seem to read his entire comment:
And now everybody is fighting with everybody. That’s productive. Maybe Liz Morrison is Bartlebee and we can have a 72 hour fight.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:43 pmEveryone remember, trying to get progressives to agree on something is like trying to herd cats.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:44 pmCats R flyin, I even got it wrong then…..
Fly fishin is something I’ve only been exposed to once. When I worked in Butte Montana years ago.
I grew up in Fla. so I didn’t know for years that you could go fishing and not catch a fish….
November 7th, 2009 at 1:45 pmStepping out on a limb here… I do plan on using the Repubs tactics against them during next year’s election. No more being nice. There is too much at stake in Pennsylvania. There will be a Senate race and a Governor’s race. The GOPer running for the Senate is a “tea bagger” conservative named Toomey. He cannot be allowed to win. He is worse than Santorum.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:46 pm“I object! I object! I object!”
Poor Republicans, that was so close. The correct response should have been “I’m abject! I’m abject! I’m abject!”
November 7th, 2009 at 1:47 pmI was unhappy with bill on NAFTA. That was my problem with the Clinton clan. I was an Edwards supporter so what do I know.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:47 pmFred – that’s right! It’s called “catch and release”.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:47 pmLois Capps is my representative. I take great offense to this as a personal slight, as should everyone within Ms. Capps’s district here in California. How dare him treat my representative–MY voice in Congress–that way!
Rest assured that Congressman Price will hear from me and will be, quite appropriately, taken to task. I encourage all members of California’s 23rd District to make Tom Price feel our wrath.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:48 pmYou can meet me in the office and “Vote me up”, HF.

November 7th, 2009 at 1:48 pmWe all have courage here. We’re not Republicans. We have the courage to disagree. I’ve yet to see one of your congress members with that courage. Pansies every one.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:50 pm“Vote” is a euphemism for…
November 7th, 2009 at 1:51 pmSome liberal posters are infighting on a blog. That must mean the entire party’s in dissarray and it’s for the GOP’s taking, right?

November 7th, 2009 at 1:53 pmI’m fine with people fighting dirty on our side if that’s what they choose. To each his own. Nobody is trying to stifle that type of fight.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:53 pmI’m sorry, I’ve had enough of saber rattlers and chest thumpers running things.
I want managers. People who may not be superego’s but know how to get things done.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:54 pmRumors of our demise may be exaggerated.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:55 pmI think Alan Grayson showed how it’s done, speak truth to power and don’t back down.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:55 pmVote as in … tamper with my diebold.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:55 pmI hereby nominate HF as the minority whip. Seems to be doing what all of the GOP is doing in the video.
Might as well give Olby Sucks a title.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:55 pmPUT THIS ON TV!
Let the American people see this thuggery and debauchery that this so-called party is attempting to conduct on the House floor!

Will the repiggies start shooting people that don’t agree with their crap?
November 7th, 2009 at 1:59 pmHow in the world are other nations suppose to respect the repug club? They are up to their old ways because that’s what they do. They are idiots and an embarrassment to themselves.
They are representing what they are…loons.
They don’t respect democracy, our constitution, their constituents or each other.
They are a huge drag on the world.
Thank God they will never be in the WH again.

November 7th, 2009 at 2:00 pmRab, We have some people who speak out. MSM is our enemy. they belong to corporate America and for the time being we will be fighting an uphill battle and walking a thin line.
Exposing them and letting Americans decide has worked for us.
I would be embarrassed of any Democrat or progressive who behaved as these people did in the subject of this thread.
November 7th, 2009 at 2:04 pmI would prefer this thing be down to five pages so I could read it in 7 days.

I stand with Liz. Being part of the “pussy posse” may be vogue but it won’t solve our country’s problems. We need to fight for what we believe in. And we need to organize.
November 7th, 2009 at 1:49 pm
I’m surprised that Wayne is getting thrown under the bus. Did any of you even bother to read Wayne’s comment? Pointing out tactics in now way means one is a “pussy.” Being a reasonable voice does not mean that someone is not tirelessly calling and writing their Congress people, or actually going out and protesting — which I know for a fact Wayne has done.
By all means, let’s fight the Repiggie @ssholes with everything we’ve got, but can we avoid throwing EACH OTHER under the bus?
November 7th, 2009 at 2:11 pmFred,
Democracy is a messy process, sausage making and no one likes to watch it being made. These are battles, make no mistake about it. Blue-Dogs are a problem just like the repugs but there is too much as stake. I don’t worry about in fighting among progressives here, I’m a Liberal, always have been and always will be. Gotta go, everyone take care..
November 7th, 2009 at 2:11 pmSee HF and the Fort Hood mass shooter.
November 7th, 2009 at 2:15 pmSo this is how the Republicans deal with Americas serious Health issues..? Disintegrate in to school yard bullies, disrespectful, rude and obnoxious spoiled brats, when they don’t get their way…..? I certainly won’t vote for these GOP children! I think a lawmaker should be serious about serious matters, if they disagree…no wonder are children are behaving the way they are..watching grow-ups behave in this way, gives them the idea its okay to be bullies, be disrespectful, intimidating and threatening…! With only 20% of people admitting to voting “Republican”, this is how they garner votes, command respect and influence people…? By exhibiting their “mob mentality” in the “People’s House”..? Shame on them…the mid-terms are not that far away…. people will remember…you never see this behavior from them, when it come to funding their precious WAR or their Wall Street buddies…only when the American people need something, like affordable, accessible Health Care…guess we know who really hates America and Americans…its the GOP terrorists in Congress
November 7th, 2009 at 2:17 pmAre we on tonight or what, troll #24B?
Will you serve at the pleasure of my president?
November 7th, 2009 at 2:17 pmThanks, Zooey.
November 7th, 2009 at 2:18 pmHF, the shootings there are a direct result of your religious war on Muslims. You own responsibility for it just as much as the shooter.
November 7th, 2009 at 2:18 pmOn topic,
What the hell is this about? Has this type of thing ever happened before?
November 7th, 2009 at 2:19 pmBefore the sun sets tonight–the Republicans will have insulted every group in this country. The “gentlemen” of the House screaming at the “gentlewoman” of the house was a disgrace, but probable just the beginning. The President just left the chamber after encouraging the Democrats. 4 hours of debate has started. C-SPAN has it all–I keep flipping the channel–a little nervous. Sending positive thoughts to our representatives, trying to get this done.
November 7th, 2009 at 2:19 pmMy pleasure, Jane.
November 7th, 2009 at 2:21 pmHas my party always been a hub for terrorist creation? Your Army promoted the guy to major despite bad fitness reports. I’m glad G.W.’s military was chock full of high standards.
November 7th, 2009 at 2:22 pmHf, there is a direct link between your actions and the shootings.
Being disrespectful when you have nothing is the gop way eh? See title of this thread.

November 7th, 2009 at 2:25 pmThey would shut them up completely if they had the power. Remember when they relegated Dem caucus’s to the basement?
November 7th, 2009 at 2:25 pmWell, you turned into a stark raving lunatic. Oh yeah, you already were one.
November 7th, 2009 at 2:27 pmSo you acknowledge changes have to be made. Why are you talking down the great G.W. Bush? Are you having late night chats with the terrorists? I’m burrowed in the NSA and will arrange to have your phones wiretapped.
November 7th, 2009 at 2:28 pmyes hf, you create terrorists so you can crate false emergencies.
That’s because you don’t know what real leaders do. You have lost it all. Maybe you should have been a little more discreet and everyone would not have found out what creeps you are.

November 7th, 2009 at 2:31 pmI do enjoy liberals/progressives/dems’ arguements. At least it’s sane debating. True debate, the facts and how it’s perceived.
YAY!
My brain hungers for intelligent debates. This should be left to the liberals/progressives/dems. Not to the insane repugs.

REAL Americans KNOW this.
Not “hf”, of course…
November 7th, 2009 at 2:34 pmFred,
When the Republicans controlled both Houses recently, they shut the Democrats out of the Conference Report discussions entirely. They often stripped the bills of popular Democratic amendments. What ended up in the final bill was often purely Republican, with no Democratic input whatsoever.
I, for one, do not understand why Republicans should be listened to at all. They objected to health care reform even before any bill was written. They refuse to see that any problems exist, except maybe that the insurance companies aren’t as profitable as they theoretically could be.
And I think it was a huge mistake on the part of Obama to say he wanted a “bipartisan bill”. Nothing the Republicans wanted to offer would have helped bring down the costs of health care, nor expanded coverage to he millions who don’t have it now, nor saved any lives. Nothing.
The Republicans never had any intention of debating this issue in good faith. There was no point in giving in to anything they wanted because we all know that not one of them will vote for the final bill.
We need Single Payer and we need it now. If the insurance companies were required to actually compete (instead of being handed monopolies back in the ’40s), this reform effort might not have been necessary. But they were given a monopoly and they abused it, and now the Republican Party wants to do everything it can (legally or not, ethical or not) to maintain the surrent system. Why bother to negotiate with them at all?
November 7th, 2009 at 2:35 pmFor an encore, the Congressional GOP plans to hold their breath, stamp their feet, and kick and scream until somebody brings them their Binkies.
November 7th, 2009 at 2:38 pmI agree Wayne. I don’t understand many things that are going on. I have learned that Obama is a player though and am glad he is on our side.
We do need the public option and I have to assume that it’s just too big a leap for Americans to make comfortably in one step.
I think the republicans worst fear is that what we do get will be the foot in the door to advancing eventually to a public option. On this, I hope they are correct in their fears.
November 7th, 2009 at 2:42 pmThe GOP howlfest won’t do them any good with Teh People, tho it might scare the moderate Dems and Repugs. Where is the Right’s respect for Authority now?
Very few of our politicians have any idea what they are doing or why: they mostly follow their Owner’s (Insurance companies, bankers, Wall St) Instructions. It must be very confusing for many of them to have…. regular people making demands!
November 7th, 2009 at 2:42 pm@168 Wayne,
After the display the republicans have put on in the house, its clear that negotiation is not now, nor will be a viable option in the future with these rabble rousing loons. The Democratic Party should be taking steps through procedure to quickly minimize the disruptions these hateful bullies have been making to the process.
I agree with you. We need to show these republican children that such behavior is not tolerated amongst the adults.
November 7th, 2009 at 2:46 pmI am a life-long registered Republican who is embarrassed that it has become an obstructionist Party, with no apparent room for moderate voices.
I am employed with good benefits, live comfortably, and believe it is time to help those Americans that cannot afford health care insurance. I see nether fiscal conservatism nor patriotism at work in attempts to drown out opposing views. I see only something I want to disaffiliate with.
November 7th, 2009 at 2:47 pmThank you Bob, I live in a Red State and I have many friends, relatives and business associates who are conservative and reflect you opinion to me freely. It is confounding that these peopl seem intent on destroying the conservative party.
Not all conservatives are like these people. Some are actually very sane and reasonable people.

November 7th, 2009 at 2:54 pmhf, I’m not here to educate you. Everyone else understands. You lack of critical thinking skills is your loss, not ours.

November 7th, 2009 at 3:00 pmIs HF short for “huffer”? I’ve always thought that’s how this troll got through the day. Any guesses as to whether it’s paint or gasoline in that paper bag?
November 7th, 2009 at 3:01 pmknow who Bill Haywood was? I grew up in the union. I know it’s history well.

November 7th, 2009 at 3:07 pmLiz, I don’t know why you insist on making everything a competition. We are all in this together you know.
November 7th, 2009 at 3:08 pmHow utterly pathetic is it that a republicon troll would spend all day and night at a progressive site spewing it’s idiocies.
Go get a life loser! Perhaps you also need to get a real job instead of the one you get paid for by the RNC at $2.50 an hour to spew their rhetoric while trying in vain to disrupt threads.
November 7th, 2009 at 3:09 pmHF is helping us. Why just look at what all their hard work has accomplished for the PoNo’s
November 7th, 2009 at 3:14 pmRep Joe Barton, managing the Republican side of the debate today, just introduced the next Republican (I think her name was Rep Jo Ann Emmer?) to speak, as representing Rush Limbaugh’s home town, Cape Girardieu, MO. Nice to see them continue to pay these embarrassing homages to a person who will do more harm than good if he continues to speak as a leader, and not just one among many, of the Republican Party. (And Rush didn’t actually write his first book, The Way Things Ought To Be. He had John Fund do it for him.)
November 7th, 2009 at 3:18 pmLiz, I grew up in the deep south in a time where white and colored drinking fountains were in every store.
I remember Selma, watching it unfold and the peaceful resistance that ultimatly won those battles.
I was arrested in college in 69 for protesting the war.
I have been aware and involve in the struggle for many years.
You jump to judgement much too quickly.
Would you be offended if I asked how old you are? The only reason I ask is because you seem to exhibit youthful exuberance for these causes. Not a bad thing. Just causes one to jump to conclusions often.

November 7th, 2009 at 3:22 pmYou think this won’t pass? Are you blind, deaf and dumb?
I think you’re just afraid it will be successful. Driving yet another nail into your coffin.
November 7th, 2009 at 3:24 pmAre these the same Republicans who voted in favor of rape a week or two ago?
The new Republican motto:
November 7th, 2009 at 3:25 pm“Rape is good, women are bad!”
conservative guy says:

November 7th, 2009 at 3:33 pmpeace.
I thought it wasn’t about you or me. Honey, I don’t need you pushing me. Try following my lead if you can keep up.
November 7th, 2009 at 3:34 pmHow much did AFP have to shell out to bus these Rethug Nazis in? And when does someone yell out “you lie”? The Rethugnican Nazi traitor corporatist draft dodger party will do everything within their power to destroy the American middle class to satisfy their corporate masters and religious leaders. One other thing…was Boner sober today?
November 7th, 2009 at 3:48 pmso, cancervative lawmakers have nothing to offer other than bullying women? that must make their mothers REAL PROUD of them.
November 7th, 2009 at 3:48 pmThe Republican House member are starting to make the South Korean parliament look like polished boxers in comparison.
November 7th, 2009 at 3:54 pmnotice how it’s all of the shitstains from the south “objecting”? time to send them back from whence they came and cut of government funding to their districts
November 7th, 2009 at 4:00 pmLiz, I’m sorry it’s all about winning for you.
That’s how the gop operates. Win at any cost is expensive.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:02 pmA bunch of effing toddlers. The whole damn bunch should be treated thus until such time as they choose to act like adults.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:08 pm…nothing more than a bunch of teabagging filth, cleaned up in their Wal-Mart suits on the (R) side of the house of reps.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:11 pmTypical Republican, mistaking working out solutions for fighting. In your view, I suppose you would applaud them for simply moving in lock-step with each other, like the irrelevant Republican party? My gawd, why did the Republicans even bother having so many of them speak? They all simply regurgitated the same lies over and over again.
I’ve never been witness to such willful ignorance in my life as much as I’ve witnessed by the lying Republican party.
It’s too bad that we all know what they are REALLY afraid of. The Democrats are going to make a majority of the USA happy, and render the Republican party even more irrelevant because they chose party over country. Stay classy in the wilderness!
November 7th, 2009 at 4:12 pmThe TREASONOUS RapePublics are clearly still scrambling for ANY ideas that will HURT the President.
Because they have NOTHING that can help the American people.
The things they believe in ONLY HURT the American public.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:21 pmWhatever it takes to kill this pig of a bill.
It takes the ACTIONS of TRAITORS to America to do it.
The RapePublics, aptly named.
Like POX “news”…
November 7th, 2009 at 4:23 pmAt long last…No shame, not one ounce. Filthy pig dewshbaggers.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:26 pmAnd where is the Sargent at Arms and why isn’t he removing these disrespectful people from the chambers?
It’s pitiful what the Republic party has become. It’s also no wonder that only 17% of Americans call themselves Republics today.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:26 pmBoner doesn’t know the difference between the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. No wonder the terrorist teabaggers love him.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:37 pmLate to this thread, had to read all the stuff on the Kos thread (!).
I agree with Pete–these republicans are a bunch of whining toddlers who are due a major smackdown. It’s too bad that they choose to obstruct rather than legislate. They have no answer to anything except to yell “I object.” If they have no intelligent commentary or reasonable suggestion or argument then they should shut their collective yaps and let the business of government proceed. (This goes for the sh*tstain trolls on this thread too…)
Somebody get the whiny tots a cookie and put them down for a nap.
What a bunch of jive-ass turkeys the republicans have become.
Oh, btw, gully’s a proud member of a union. Been associated with three since I started workin’. Just sayin’.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:37 pmHF says:

John Boehner for President!
Yeah, president of the over-tanning and whiny-a** beyotch club…
…of which HF is a charter member.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:40 pmThis is a disgrace. First, the Repugs tried to kill a Bill introduced by Franken, now this? Their hatred towards women is astounding, This should be all over MSM. Let’s see how many women support the GOP after this awful display. Compound that with the obscene signs that the GOP so willfully ignored during the rally, and the GOP will be nothing but a Party full of unintelligent, old, white bigots. That will get them far in the 21 Century.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:43 pmThe GOP freak show is losing its shock value. Will they decide to get serious and do some work or will they just fade away?
November 7th, 2009 at 4:45 pm@241, You are talking out of your ass again. This BILl will make it cheaper in the long run. You and every other troll pull facts out of your butt. As for illegals, they won’t be covered. So why don’t you go to Rightie web site and they will tell you everything you wish to hear. Because you have no clear idea about the facts.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:48 pmHF,
Do you really believe the things you say? Or are you trying to portray a character?
November 7th, 2009 at 4:49 pm@242, FU. I think you are upset because many women are smarter than you. It’s quite obvious in your posts that you are not very smart. All attacks, no substance.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:50 pmPardon me if this has already been said, but a commercial with that monotone “I OBJECT! I OBJECT! I OBJECT!” played over and over and over again would bring home the fact that that is ALL the Donner Party has to offer…
God. I loathe those despicable a-holes. Seriously.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:51 pmCan’t take the heat stay out of the kitchen! Or in this case, stay in the kitchen at home!
You do realize that many, if the the majority, of chefs are men?
November 7th, 2009 at 4:58 pm#241
Look! Over there! I don’t have anything intelligent to say so I’ll make some sh*t up and post it!
#242
Flagged for gender-bashing comment.
And I’d boot your sorry a** from any kitchen I worked in–teabagger!
November 7th, 2009 at 4:59 pmI’m outta here. There is nothing worse than a unintelligent, racist troll.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:59 pmAh, HF, I see you’ve retreated to this thread.
Again, sir, your military service, dates and branch, please?
November 7th, 2009 at 5:02 pmUnemployment is over 10% and climbing, the democrats want to skyrocket taxes to pay for abortions and illegals. Nice, huh?
It would be closer to 18% if they figure unemployment the way they used to. And the number started climbing when the recession began in 2007. Those high fuel prices, because of speculation didnt help matters either. But what is the difference in record profits for big oil, wall street and taxes?
You can file on taxes and get a return. Not so with Exxon and Fail Street.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:03 pmWhy do you insist on showing your ignorance on a public forum? Anyone with the first clue knows that unemployment is a lagging indicator and always the last thing to improve after a recession.
Almost every other economic indicator is up, and we’ve gone from losing 750,000 jobs a month when Mini-Me was still in office to only 120,000 jobs a month.
But keep grasping at straws and straw-men, because it’s all you have left. LMAO
November 7th, 2009 at 5:05 pmWell, 2 out of 3 is nothing to brag about sir. LMAO
November 7th, 2009 at 5:06 pmAnd what about those emergency supplementals to wage war HF? You think that didnt increase the public debt? That the 4.97 trillion added to that debt wont result in more taxes? That the two trillion Paulson loaned out didnt increase that debt?
I wonder what color the sky is in HF world.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:06 pmHF, @254, I do not accuse of being a racist… merely a garden-variety coward.
Your dates and branch of service, jerk… enquiring minds are waiting.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:07 pmYes, because anyone who disagrees HAS to be a racist
No. we all got off Noahs boat. Your more like a famist
November 7th, 2009 at 5:08 pmThere are an estimated 13 Million Undocumented/Illegal Immigrants living in the USA. When they get sick..they go to the Emergency Room.
The Bill will not Provide One Taxpayer Dime to pay for Insurance for the Undocumented.
The Issue is ….Can they BUY Health Insurance. The GOP Amendment would prevent this.
Good Idea??? How about preventing them from Buying Car Insurance?
November 7th, 2009 at 5:14 pmFilm it, put it on TV as an advertisement on the Evening News with the word OBSTRUCTIONIST! plastered across the screen. Then do the same thing the Rethugs did when they had the House…..turn off the lights and mics, lock the doors and leave.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:17 pmNo, but anyone who agrees with a judge’s decision that a couple shouldn’t get married because the man and woman are of different races HAS to be racist.
The way you did, RACIST.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:24 pmThese obstructionists should be arrested, plain and simple! The republicans are destroying America with their vile behaviors! So now the crazies of the world have been given permission to be uncivil as they can get away with. Ugly americans anyone?
November 7th, 2009 at 5:33 pmLie much?
Go back to Stormwatch, Jeffy.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:46 pmStormfront, even.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:47 pmCan’t shut up about AAP after all this time, huh? That dude must of DESTROYED you. Broke you pretty durn good, didn’t he? ;)
November 7th, 2009 at 5:53 pmI think that we need to figure out every republicunt that kept interrupting every Democrat & even the SPEAKER while they were “talking” and call their offices over & over & over & over &over & over & over and when someone answers either ask for the representive or whoever answers just start saying/yelling “I object, I Object, I object, I Object, I object, I Object, I object, I Object, I object, I Object, I object, I Object, I object, I Object, I object, I Object, I object, I Object, I object, I Object, I object, I Object, I object, I Object!!! And if their voicemail picks up then just keep saying I Object until it cuts you off then call back & keep calling until you fill up their mailbox!
November 7th, 2009 at 6:14 pmWe also need to send that video clip or a link to it to your local news stations because one of our local stations is bound to play and then maybe a national news program will pick it up. Also send a link of this article to CNN, MSNBC and The BBC, don’t bother with Faux Opinion.
Don’t know what you’re talking about but it’s sure funny watching you think every poster who makes you look like the idiot you are is AAP.
It’s not quite as funny as watching you embarrass conservatism with every looney tunes post you make, but it’s still really, really, really funny.. :)
November 7th, 2009 at 6:18 pmHF has been trolling on these boards for 6 hrs straight. Jebus, get a life, you lowlife terrorist-loving hick.
November 7th, 2009 at 6:33 pmNot really, considering how you’re waaaaaaaay too dumb to realize I’m not the poster you think I am.
You’ve got more socks than a sock factory. I’ve got no sock puppets at all.
November 7th, 2009 at 6:37 pmSee? Conservatives are afraid of women. They hate anyone who acts like Mommy. Go to your rooms you whiny as*ed titty babies!!!!! No dinner for you until you can behave yourselves!!!!!
November 7th, 2009 at 7:08 pmVan Jones was right….republicans are as*holes.
November 7th, 2009 at 7:09 pmConservatives hate women! The proof is on video now!
November 7th, 2009 at 7:17 pmFirst, let me say this – Og Bless America. Only in This Great Nation could so many that are so uncouth and so ill-mannered use their used-car-selling skills to get elected to a position that allows them to vote – or in this case, not allow a vote – on important matters that effect the day-to-day lives of over 300 Million Americans. Now, I know correlation =\= causation, and I know folks like this have always been around, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a study done sometime in the future proves that Reagan’s dismantling of the Mental Health System has led to the dramatic increase of such individuals being elected to office.
Second – Is there a list floating around of all of those that were disruptive?

November 7th, 2009 at 9:41 pmBetsy mccaughey Is Wrong About Health Reform — Again!
Huffington Post - [Linda Bergthold Health policy consultant]
Saturday in the Wall Street Journal, Betsy McCaughey, well known for her distortion of health reform in 1993 as well as recently, made the following points about the health reform bill, HR 3962, which is being debated and voted on as I write this. As usual, she sprinkles some truth in among her assertions, which give them the patina of authenticity.
As I have done before, I am analyzing her points, one by one, so that you can better understand some of what is REALLY in this bill. …

Reps King, Hoekstra Attempt To Wrap Capitol With Health Care Bill
Early Friday afternoon, Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) announced his intentions to wrap the Capitol building in a massive copy of the 1,900-page health bill. “Let’s do it,” he proclaimed. “Let’s wrap the building.”
A security guard urged them not to try (”You can’t do that sir, you can’t do that.”) but King was determined. King and his partner Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Mich.) don’t appear to have made it all the way around the Capitol, but they did climb the steps and create a giant mess of paper.
Below, view their attempts to “wrap” the building.

November 7th, 2009 at 10:05 pmAmerica’s 5th Column of Far Righties teamed up with Muslim Brotherhood to attack the USA on 9/11. Same two states that killed JFK, took you to Iraq, brought you two Bush presidencies also allowed the 9/11 hijackers into the USA. Texas and Florida. It’s really time to do something about this underground network of traitors in America
November 8th, 2009 at 12:14 amWOO-HOO!!!!! Take that you Repub idiots! Oh….you must be foaming at your ridiculous mouths about now! You have become such a pathetic breed of ‘non-representation’ of your constituents. You are egostical slim and I foresee a very slim future for your party. God help you! I like Rab’s statement “a bell in hell ringing” …. Actually Satan himslef is smiling with his new members to be! You all just don’t get it, do you? Mind rot and pupperty are not very good qualities for your resume! However, DEMOCRACY does allow for the most pathetic to speak.
November 8th, 2009 at 8:19 amWhat an awful group of people. I am so disgusted by the behavior of these horrible republicans that I could scream. All they do is stop progress on everything, lie constantly, call everyone names, and scheme to bring down the government.
You know what? The fight is not left vs. right or even urban vs. rural. It’s Americans vs. republicans now.
November 8th, 2009 at 8:33 amI have been wasting the better part of my day, reading this tripe you people spew here. Republicans, Democrats, it makes no difference. You and I are all peons in the eyes of those in power, and if you think my reference to those in power means congress, or the president, you are all so very uninformed. This is not about healthcare. This is not about you. This is about power, and acquiring more of it. So while you democrats praise Obama, Pelosi, Reed and company, and while you republicans demean and denigrate their every move, remember this; none of you are anything more to any of them than a source of funds to finance their own private agendas. We don’t count… not any more. If you think Obama, Pelosi, or anyone in congress cares if you have health insurance, you are nuts. They do not! So what you need to ask yourselves is, why are they pushing this reform so hard? The answer to that, if you can find it, will open your eyes.
November 8th, 2009 at 2:42 pmFOX reported today that the Democrats were playing games with the rules. (I am summarizing in my words) They sent the women reps to the mic so that all of you could jump the Republicans today. In their game the 30 seconds to speak would not count toward the Dem side of the farce they called a “debate”. The Republicans could do nothing but stop it this way since the Dems were not playing fair. I have yet to find the rule that was being manipulated…and I am sure all of the bashers here are interested in the real truth…haha…..the Dems started it and gave the right no choice but to object.
November 8th, 2009 at 2:43 pmAs a moderate Republican, I find that Fox seldom reports things accurately when it comes to Democratic behavior. I am wondering exactly what was Gingrich listening to. Surely not the Insurance debate that I listened to very faithfully.
November 8th, 2009 at 8:49 pmHey, tough love. Fire all of the single party people. Let’s have a party for americans. The republican/democrat party just passed a bill giving billions of dollars to the filthy rich’s profits in insurance companies. This is really great.
The elected cry babies that have never held a real job behind a counter or in an office or as a manual worker have just contracted for all of their children to always have huge incomes as employees receiving dad’s or mom’s bribes recipients.
What do americans get? 96.5 per cent have a chance to move up from #37 in healthcare evaluations, to #36 at the cost of untold billions for the rich and the insurance executives.
OOPS, hold the phone, one of the former eastern European countries has yielded to their peoples’ demands and are going to fully fund medical care.
Sorry fools, as democrat/republican party voters, you are stuck at #37 but the rich and the insurance companies thank you from the bottom of their evil little hearts.
Now just bow down and pray that your children can be sold as slaves to the rich.
November 9th, 2009 at 3:53 amomg.. its like little bullies on the playground.. I felt this uncontrollable urge to shout STFU!!
November 9th, 2009 at 10:25 amI dont know how those women kept their cool!
Dingell is too old. Don’t these guys ever retire?
Cons suck!
November 9th, 2009 at 12:47 pmHaving been in the middle of a town hall meeting I videotaped — one of the “would-be town hall putsches” — I should not be surprised by such bullying tactics.
However, as an American, dedicated to the rights of free speech and democracy, I am saddened and sickened by this anti-free speech behavior in our very Congress, as well as by the “Obama as Hitler” signs and slogans that I saw at the town hall meeting (brandished at other events and perhaps at this by self-identifying neo-Nazis) and the “health reform as holocaust” sign and the like that adorned last week’s GOP “press conference” on the steps of the Capitol.
As Paul Krugman has noted, the Republican Party has been commandeered by the very fringe elements it once exploited, to the detriment not only of their party but also of our entire nation.
As for this particular episode, I can think of no more fitting label for those Republican men who shouted down Democratic women than “sexist pigs” — with apologies to all self-respecting swine.
