How about a turkey? We could probably manage to convince them that it’s a patriotic symbol and calls to mind one of the Founding Fathers since Benjamin Franklin once expressed the sentiment that he’d rather have the turkey than the bald eagle as our national bird. However, since most Tea Baggers don’t appear to be all that swift and seem to have problems comprehending either irony or subtlety, they’d probably miss the analogy…a flock of vain, silly, aggressive, puffed-up posturing birds that run around and make a lot of superfluous noise for no discernible reason. Works for me…

Of course, they funniest part will be watching all the hate radio hosts and FAUXites trying to sell a fundamental split in the GOP as some kind of validation for causing said split. They just won’t stop squawking until they have purged all those who display any hint of moderation or individuality.

Lake County, Fl. is full of tea bagger fruit cakes. It’s almost solidly republican/tea bagger. There are some real crazies down here. If the rest of America voted for a Dem, Lake county would still vote repub even if there was no repub candidate running! I’ve never seen anything like it. Oh, and they are all christian too. Some states have a closed primary system which forces people to take a Dem or Rep ballot. If the teabaggers run, then the ballot will have only the offices that their party is running a candidate. We have that in Illinois and while it would be nice to cross over, we lose the ability to vote for other offices. I would be happy to cross over if the teabaggers run on the Republican ballot.
