O’Reilly warns of a coming ‘tax revolt’: ‘Pelosi will be bobbing up and down in the Boston Harbor.’

BoldFresh

Glenn Beck had Fox News host Bill O’Reilly on his radio show today to promote their upcoming “Bold & Fresh Tour,” which will take the two right-wing personalities around the country to preach “the truth — straight up, whether you like it or not.” When Beck brought up Dennis Miller’s appearance on the O’Reilly Factor last week — in which Miller warned of a coming “insurrection“– O’Reilly predicted a “tax revolt” that will “get nasty” and end up with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) “bobbing up and down in the Boston Harbor.”

BECK: Last week, I head you say that — you were on with Dennis Miller. … You two were talking about an insurrection coming.

O’REILLY: Tax revolt.

BECK: He used the word insurrection. And not in a comedic way.

O’REILLY: Yeah, tax revolt. I think people, when they figure out how badly they’re going to get hurt in the next few years, there’s going to be a tea party on taxes and its gonna get nasty. Nancy Pelosi’s going to be bobbing up and down in the Boston Harbor.

This statement appeared to be too much for Beck even, who replied, “Uh, I don’t think that’s necessary.” Listen here:

Bill, you will be the one bobbing up and down. Get over yourself you selfish POS!

  2. noseeum says:

    Bold and Fresh!

Yes, but will it get out the really nasty stains?

  3. MCMetal says:

Isn’t blatantly threatening the life of the Speaker of the House grounds for a charge of treason and subsequent arrest ?

    Pipe down , you bald-headed moron …………..

  4. P.D. says:

‘Bobbing up and down in the Boston Harbor.’ OMG! These guys use references like this to incite dangerous behavior. First some Jack-ass wants to burn Pelosi in effigy and now Billo makes a remark like that? These guys are immoral cretins.

  5. lurkmode says:

Bad when you’re nuttier than Glenn Beck.

That’s it … if I ever see Papa Bear O’Reilly near water he’s going in.

  6. lurkmode says:

I bet a falafel came to mind when O’Reilly thought of Pelosi all wet like.

  7. Trittydi says:

I actually support a tax revolt if they pass the current BS health care reform.

They want us to be all excited about a bill that will help almost no one and can barely be considered reform. It a big sloppy wet kiss on the ass of the corporate health care industry.

It’s garbage and the likelihood it will get even worse is pretty high.

  8. mike from Arlington says:

C’mon! Don’t you all get it?!?!?

Nanci Pelosi, dead, bobbing up and down? I mean that has to be the best joke I’ve heard. I mean, who doesn’t think jokes about our elected leaders floating dead in harbors is funny!

  9. EnnuiDivine says:

Man. Even BECK found O’Reilly to be tasteless and offensive. That’s a sure sign of far-out dementia.

  10. Leftside Annie says:

Heh. I guess Billo the Clown is trying to out-crazy Becky.

    Delicious.

  11. MCMetal says:

O’REILLY: and its gonna get nasty.

Was there moaning heard along with this ?

  12. Hoodathunk says:

    Bold and Fresh!

America! Take to the Streets! The evil Dems are trying to spend your taxes on you instead of shoveling it overseas to support wars in places that want us gone! They are trying to tax your taxes away from Wall Street so they can pay outrageous salaries and bonuses while the banksters rob your retirement funds. They are trying to take away the God given profits of the healthcare industry while you sweat over how you are going to pay the medical bills.

    Protest! Revolt!

I’m trying to remember if there was this kind of call to burn Dennis Hastert (or even Newt Gingrich) in effigy. Or claim that either one of them would be “bobbing up and down” in any harbor. Or if people disgusted with the GOP’s thuggish ways routinely called for acts of violence against them.

I can’t remember any instances. There may have been some, but few and far between and only by rare crazies.

    What is wrong with people?

miss@22, Yeah. Gauranteed these ‘Tea-Baggers’ had no idea WHO was the leader of the House. My own father was biching about ‘Pelosi’, when I asked him who was the speaker before her. He had no idea! the fact Nancy is a WOMAN really pisses off these old, white dudes.

  27. NinerFan says:

Actually, the original Boston Tea Party was in response to a tax cut, not a tax hike, but I wouldn’t want to spoil the fun.

  28. Jackie says:

Itchy and Scratchy are about taxes but it’s only for those who make over a 1 million a year. It’s a small increase but the Rich would rather the taxes go up on the middle class and poor. Itchy is still paying that harassment lawsuit so this is something he doesn’t need. Notice how the Media people who make at lease 1 million are upset while those that bring them coffee have no problem.

  29. Purple State says:

I dare the Tea Partyists to come up to Boston Harbor and give it a shot. Tea bags, boxes of tea floating in the Harbor, Pelosi effigies…I would be amongst the thousands keeping you from pulling any of that in my free state.

    Insurrection:

And, further, these guys are promoting doing it violently.

A government that the majority voted for.

    Treason:
the offense of attempting by overt acts to overthrow the government

Nope, nothing wrong with that, right?

  36. Oval12345678 aka James K. Sayre says:

Americans will probably be hurting economically in the next few years. True enough, however, we need to look closely at some of the root causes: millions of American manufacturing jobs shipped overseas by Republican-controlled corporations in the last twenty eight years. Economic treason. Millions of high technology and low technology (customer service) shipped off shore in the last fifteen years by Republican-controlled corporations. More economic treason. Endless stupid, pointless and costly imperial occupations in Afghanistan and Iraq, started by Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld and continued by Prosident Obama. Three billion dollars a week wasted; money which would be better spent repairing our crumbling infrastructure and providing health care to Americans.

  37. Tachinidae Leporello says:

I’ll rake her through the mud, bring up things in her life and make her so miserable that she’ll be destroyed. And besides, she wouldn’t be able to afford the lawyers I can or endure it financially as long as I can. And nobody would believe her, it’d be her word against mine and who are they going to believe? There may be a bit of a semantical difficulty with the ideas of insurrection and treason. Since it appears our government is at least tacitly run by corporations, lobbyists and special interests, the claims by Bildo and bin Gleck are more in line with supporting this status quo and hence neither insurrectional nor treasonous.

    _____________________________________________________________

Excellent point — I’d be willing to bet that many of these people cannot name ANY other Speaker of the House besides “Pelosi”. And I’d be willing to place a side bet that these same people mostly have no idea what a Speaker of the House does (hint — the Speaker isn’t a dictator who writes and passes all legislation by herself).

By the way, for those of you who are now counting Speakers on your fingers trying to remember the last ten or so — here they are:

    Nancy Pelosi (2007 to present)
    Dennis Hastert (1999 – 2007)
    Newt Gingrich (1995 – 1999)
    Tom Foley (1989 – 1995)
    Jim Wright (1987 – 1989)
    Tip O’Neill (1977 – 1987)
    Carl Albert (1971 – 1977)
    John McCormack (1962 – 1971)
Sam Rayburn (1955 – 1961, plus two other times*)
Joseph Martin (1953 – 1955, plus one other time*)
*From 1940 to 1961, the Speaker was either Rayburn or Martin, who seesawed back and forth whenever the majority changed hands.

For a fun party game or conversation energizer, challenge your friends (or enemies) to come up with any name on the above list. They don’t even have to know what years they served.

I keep hoping that they will burn themselves out, or that someday soon, the majority of America will realize that these two bring no value and are of no help in solving our problems.

Do they really think that the corporate bigwigs who brought us to the brink of disaster – jobs shipped overseas and domestic jobs eliminated, while they kept enormous bonuses for themselves – are going to care about what happens to Joe Average?
Do they think that the financial industry cares about Joe Average, when they, too, are run by CEOs with the same mentality as the corporate heads? Profits over people.

It’s all about profit for them – and they don’t pay taxes in the same proportion that Joe Average does – yet the morons tell people that that ratio will change! (I say, when pigs fly)

These moronic talk-show people make too damn much money and they constantly spew nonsense, demagoguery, propaganda and other bull-$h!t — they are as out of touch as their fellow repugniscum.

  82. 5th Estate says:

    # 27 NinerFan says: Actually, the original Boston Tea Party was in response to a tax cut, not a tax hike, but I wouldn’t want to spoil the fun.

Technically yes, but there’s more to it than that.

The East India Company was in dire straits because the Brtish Government controlled where tea could be sold, and ALL of it (from India especially) had to pass first through London where the Government taxed it massively.
Only the very rich could afford the tea ( and for them it was practically a narcotic) which limited the market.
The Government was basically taking all the profits and the EIC’s shipping expenses were naturally pretty high.

A couple of bad seasons in India caused massive starvation and ruined crops, which pushed the EIC towards bankruptcy.
THE EIC however was “too big to fail” and something had to be done.
Apparently it was Ben Franklin’s idea to allow the EIC to sell tea to the US directly, w3ithout the usual government taxation on it.

Int the US was popular and desirable, but the colonists supply came mostly from the Dutch. The Dutch was inferior to the Anglo-Indian tea.
A simple mathematical calculus of US tea traders, their profits and volume showed that US traders were only declaring 1/3 of their volume as taxable sales, the remaining 2/3rd was sold without paying the import tax and sales tax ( which still made the tea MUCH cheaper than the Anglo-Indian product, but VERY VERY profitable for the US tea merchants.

Franklin’s plan would thus provide better tea at a lower price to the US consumers than the Dutch import, by getting rid of the London Tax, just for the US.

As a consequence the US tea merchants would see their lovely profit margins significantly reduced, EIC could make a profit and the British Government would still get its taxes without driving EIC out of business.

The founders of the Boston Tea Party were, like thhe organizers of today’s Teabaggers, businessmenkeen to protect their profits.
Being educated men as well, they were able to spin the situation into an existential battle about citizens rights—even though the citizen consumers would be getting a good deal.

The opposition that Sam Adams and the like fired up brought a predictable reaction—British troops were sent in to restore order and to enforce the collection of taxes ( there were no police remember).

Of course their techniques were heavy-handed, and then civil rights. representation and the reach of government really didbecome the issue.

Maybe so, but their vision was first severely impaired by stupidity.

I’m talking about the tea party idiots – the gun toting..the effigies.. the ridiculousness of the entire thing – I’m talking about the fact that a disgusting underbelly of American ‘kind’ has surfaced… it seemed at first all to be a reaction to Obama.. but yet, the ugliness started waay back with Dubya.

I said in the above statement – that they are blatantly believing those who are confirmed liars – confirmed not only by our own eyes.. but individual agencies with no partisan platform.

I was trying to wrack my brain to find one thing they could claim Obama ‘lied’ about… and I realized that it must be their Kenya claim… I followed it with ‘Jesus Christ’ showing my immediate reaction to that thought..

You got me wrong Game of Life.. I write things stream of thought – I think it has more impact that way.. but can lead to misinterpretation I guess..

    Ape-man –

I agree.. I believe there’s about 30-35% that can be swayed by a simple word. It’s like hypnotism.

The poll numbers reveal this fact… if people weren’t so easily swayed by anything said.. why would people’s party affiliation change on practically a daily basis…

they’re lost.. confused – and exceedingly wishy washy.

  101. pete says:

    lux,

Just a minor point, if I may?

The teabagging movement predates ol’ Chimpy by a fair piece. It’s as old as Man himself. Xenophobia. Nativism. Tribalism. Call it what you will. The particular fear changes through history but that’s largely irrelevant.

Beat me to it. Can’t believe no one saw it in the graphic. Only in the U.S. of A. Tell’s a lot about the makeup of this country, doesn’t it? Quite a sad commentary.

Would someone please tell me why there’s apparently nothing wrong with a right-wing pundit like O’Reilly suggesting — no matter how subtly or indirectly — that a high-ranking federal official like the Speaker of the House deserves to be attacked, physically assaulted, and/or assassinated?? Yes, O’Reilly is entitled to his opinion and even has the right to voice it…but I do question whether he should be allowed to continue using the airwaves and making so much money after making what amounts to an indirect threat against a leading governmental figure. I ask you…what would have happened if a liberal pundit had suggested during the Bush administration that Dennis Hastert deserved to be drowned in Boston Harbor? I don’t think it would have been taken too well…

I mean, let’s face it — even Glenn Beck (of all people!!!!) thinks that O’Reilly went a little too far this time, which is really saying something!

Actually, the original Boston Tea Party was in response to a tax cut, not a tax hike, but I wouldn’t want to spoil the fun.

You really are stupid. How do you survive being with yourself? Progressive logic and stupidity.

The British East India Company had controlled all tea trading between India and the British colonies. As a result of the tea tax, the colonies refused to buy the British tea. Instead, they smuggled tea in from Holland. This left the British East India Company with warehouses full of unsold tea, and the company was in danger of going out of business.
The British government was determined to prevent the British East India Company from going out of business. It was going to force the colonists to buy their tea. In May 1773, Prime Minister North and the British parliament passed the Tea Act. The Tea Act allowed the British East India Company to sell tea directly to the colonists, bypassing the colonial wholesale merchants. This allowed the company to sell their tea cheaper than the colonial merchants who were selling smuggled tea from Holland.

This act revived the colonial issue of taxation without representation. The colonies once again demanded that the British government remove the tax on tea. In addition, the dockworkers began refusing to unload the tea from ships.

The Governor of Massachusetts demanded that the tea be unloaded. He also demanded that the people pay the taxes and duty on tea.

    Insurrection:
an act or instance of revolting against civil authority or an established government.

And, further, these guys are promoting doing it violently.

A government that the majority voted for.

    Treason:
the offense of attempting by overt acts to overthrow the government

Nope, nothing wrong with that, right?

Mary, you are the stupidest of them all here. No one was killed at the Boston Tea Party and that insurrection led to the formation of the United States of America. You idiots call it The U.S. of KKA

    Treason???????

  119. linzloo08 says:

Hmmm whats with all the name calling here? Both sides have been doing a lot of it on this thread. We just gotta remember to respect other people’s opinions, even though we might not agree with them ( I’ll be the 1st to admit that I haven’t exactly done this myself, but I need to remember to be respectful). Both opinions are valid, and shutting someone off the debate just beacuse they don’t agree with you weakens the debate. I won’t name names but some of us have been doing more of this than others..
