On Wednesday, Sarah Palin excitedly announced on Twitter that she was going to be running a 5K Turkey Trot charity race in Washington state on Thanksgiving day. Large crowds of people turned out to catch Palin at the race, hoping to get the chance to meet the former Alaska governor. Palin, however, quit the race early to avoid many of her fans:
Palin had announced on Twitter that she would be running the 5k race organized by the Benton-Franklin Chapter of the Red Cross.
She didn’t finish the race, opting to leave the course early to avoid more crowds at the end. About 40 minutes into the run, word started trickling out to people gathered at the finish line that she was gone.
Wonkette also points out that Palin said she wasn’t going to be making a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving because it was “too much work.”
I’m sensing a trend…
November 28th, 2009 at 2:16 pmPoor Todd… I bet she doesn’t finish anything… or do anything considered “work”…
November 28th, 2009 at 2:19 pmThis comment has been voted down. Click to read.
Probably had a Gulfstream to catch for the next leg of her “bus tour”.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:20 pm•Yeah, anything that resembles real work turns out to be too much for failin palin…
November 28th, 2009 at 2:21 pmHas this woman finished anything she has started? This is the best the wingers have? Is this their idea of a strong woman? Someone please explain to me why anyone would look up to someone who can’t finish anything.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:23 pmHi Zooey! I haven’t heard from you in a while. As for Palin, once a quitter, ALWAYS a quitter. Does she honestly think that people will stand for this treatment? She dicthed hundreds of her fans after they waited for hours in the rain, and now this? What a jerk!
November 28th, 2009 at 2:23 pmCan’t take the heat of having your candidates roasted, Trace?
November 28th, 2009 at 2:25 pmShe is dysfunctional and can’t finish anything. Imagine, if McCain had won and this freak was in charge of distribution of the stimulus funds to jurisdictions. She would have made John McCain’s life and ours miserable. He should be grateful every day that he lost, I know I am.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:25 pmWow, Palin is turning into quite the diva. She simply must avoid the “masses” of her fans, and oh, work… that’s for the common folk, not someone as famous as she is..
And she’s so fashionable! She uses Twitter!
Well, at least that fits. She is, after all, a twit.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:26 pmTracy@3, Silly? The woman NEVER finishes what she starts. We are right to critize her. The woman is a trainwreck. So don’t begrudge us a little fun at your heroines failings.

November 28th, 2009 at 2:23 pm
Hi, PD. I spent the week on the Oregon coast — no television, no computer access, no phone, no radio — it was heaven. I hope your Thanksgiving was good. :)
I think the Quitter doesn’t quite get that the “attention whore” gig means she will get lots of attention, and will have to return that attention. Must have quit in the middle of Quitter School.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:27 pmPalin’s publicity agent has her on a very tight schedule. I’ll bet a dollar that she’s charging $50 for a photo op and $10 for souvenirs.
How many more months or years can Palin stretch her celebrity status out before the right wing lunatics reject her?
November 28th, 2009 at 2:29 pmOnce again, the Tracist fails to distinguish between hatred and ridicule/contempt.
Shocker!
November 28th, 2009 at 2:29 pmI don’t hate Palin, Trace.
I dislike the direction of her policies.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:30 pmWe love her. She just keeps giveing…..to us.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:30 pmTracy@14, LOL! So, ‘loveliest’ huh? Becareful, you might droll on your keyboard. Who give a sh*t what the woman looks like? What a creep.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:31 pmMost people can walk 5K (3 miles) in 45 minutes, and after 40 minutes Palin couldn’t finish the “run.” That goes to show that Palin being an avid runner is just another lie also, too. Who woulda thunk?
And, poor Todd home on Thanksgiving fixin’ the brand new roof on their brand new house.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:32 pmTracy, tell us what she has done to become the loveliest woman in America? Has she cured cancer or given us world peace? God man, she can’t even finish a 5k race she said she would run. She hasn’t finished anything she’s done, when it becomes hard.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:32 pmPersonally I wish the media (including TP) would cease to provide this waste of protoplasm with one iota of coverage. Who really cares if she runs a race or lops the head off a turkey or stays in bed all day long? The woman is a mistake and has no business in politics or anything else for that matter. By breathlessly covering everything she does or tries to say the media are only reinforcing her. Just let her slip off into oblivion. You dont hear much about Joe the Unlicensed Plumber any more do you? Think there’s a relationship between no coverage and fading away???
November 28th, 2009 at 2:33 pmPalin quits before finishing the 5K Turkey Trot race.
– - Oh Sarah, you are such a hoot.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:33 pmSorry fellow TP’ers. It looks like my post at #4 is not too popular. I really cannot understand why Palin gets so much press but others seem to enjoy it. I withdraw my comment at #4 and will just bypass any other threads on this waste of time person.
PS Tracy_5, get a clue to the real Palin. She would crap on your grave for publicity.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:34 pmTracy@14, ‘Seething hatred’? Damn, I think you are reading into our comments all wrong. Quite frankly, the woman is a joke. The fact she could have been President is truly frightening. So, ’seething hatred’ is misplaced here. The fact is, the woman is dumber than a bag of hammers and YOU know it.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:35 pmLib@24, LOL! Crude, but probably true.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:37 pmOh crap, and all those “Palin is a Quitter” signs she never got to see, darn.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:40 pmLib@24, she’s the gop choice. They are pumping money into events for her.
She speaks for the gop and will be around in 2012 in some capacity.
I know it sounds incredulous to us but that is what appears to be happening.
I couldn’t be happier but I want to be sure that everyone knows who they are really looking at.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:41 pmI’m still amazed that these ‘Palin supporters’ can generate enough electrical energy in their brain to signal their muscles to propel their fat a$$es out to these things.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:42 pmI blasted through Tri-Cities on my way home last night — I’m glad I didn’t stop to spend any money. ;)
BTW, I made it all the way home, having not quit the last part of the journey.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:42 pmPalin quits before finishing the 5K Turkey Trot race.
– - So Sarah is kinda the anti-Rosie Ruiz now. And seriously, a 5K is like 3 miles and the “accomplished runner” couldn’t finish? Did she even start?
November 28th, 2009 at 2:43 pmPalin is splendid Comic Relief. Living with all this angst and fear and frustration- it’s a treat to laugh at Palin. And to marvel. Also.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:44 pmTracy, go fck yourself, you are a typical wingnut who doesnt understand the damage that the b!tch palin could do to our country.Wake the fck up,dont you think eight years of bush/cheney did enough damage.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:44 pmThatcher was a national leader.
Palin didn’t finish her term as a state leader.
*pushes button*
“That was easy!”
November 28th, 2009 at 2:45 pmEver predictable, the Quitter has her handy-dandy Kid Shields ™ in front of her.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:45 pmdefine “real Americans”
If you can’t then your statement goes where it belongs. in the trash heap.
•Is a gay person not a “real American”?
•Are black persons not a “real Americans”?
•Are Asian/Americans person not a “real Americans”?
etc.
Or, are they the 20% of Americans who think Obama is the racist?
November 28th, 2009 at 2:45 pmI think someone is doing a Tracy_________5 parody.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:46 pmP.D.
It’s Palin that’s dumber than a bag of hammers and Tracy who’s dumber than a bag of nails.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:47 pmZooey, Seems pretty blatant on the rhetoric doesn’t he…
November 28th, 2009 at 2:47 pm.
#28 Dear Tracy Five Cheetos fingers,
Are you postulating that there are “fake” Americans in our midst?
p.s.
Prime Minister Palin was NEVER, will NEVER EVER be.

November 28th, 2009 at 2:48 pm
Woo hoo! Good for her — she let something escape her body that was going to find a way out anyway.
I’ve given birth to children, and I didn’t hand them off to nannies to raise OR use them for personal gain.
Somebody give me a cookie.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:52 pmShe is a quitter…a great quitter.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:53 pmL-A-Z-Y She ain’t got not Alibi, cause she’s lazy.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:55 pmThe real danger arises that she might disqualify herself from Republican consideration before 2012. Just think how much more difficult it will be if we have to run against a candidate that managed to thread three I.Q. points together.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:57 pmZooey at 2:52 pm
Somebody give me a cookie.
Done!
November 28th, 2009 at 2:57 pmThanks, House. ;)
November 28th, 2009 at 2:59 pmTracy–Ronnie Reagan, Margaret Thacher and Milton Friedman all shared the same theory of economics. Starting in the eighties these three, more than anything else, are responsible for the collapse we find ourselves in today.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:01 pmSo you may be right, Sarah would do just as much damage–she still thinks “trickle down” is the way to go.
Of course, Quaylin didn’t cook a turkey. It’s not that it was “too much work”, though. As dumb as Quaylin is, she still knows better than to eat one of her own kind.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:01 pmOnce a quitter is always a quitter when it comes to Lady Blah Blah.. Sarah is sad person. She didn’t finished the 5k race which is the easiest race in the Turkey trot as well as a marathon race. Next to Sarah’s face in the dictionary under the word “quitter” should be: Never finished what she started.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:01 pmGov. Palin (Quittsilvania) is wearing gloves to hide the fact that she is quitting her marriage…
November 28th, 2009 at 3:01 pmHow can you run a campaign when you can’t even run a race?
November 28th, 2009 at 3:03 pmShe quit multiple colleges, her position as governor, her book-signing stint (leaving fans in the rain) and now this race. Sarah “Quitter” Palin is compiling quite an unenviable record. And what’s with the “turkey is too much work” remark? Did her children join her for Thanksgiving? Or did she quit them and leave them up in Alaska for a change?
November 28th, 2009 at 3:04 pmIsn’t Tripp her grandson?
November 28th, 2009 at 3:11 pmLiberalVoter
I understand what you’re saying, you hardly can call this news… but as long as she is actually considered a contender for President, we have to keep bringing these things up about her.
If we don’t point them out.. who will? She appears on Runner’s World.. but doesn’t bother finishing a 5k race? She’s pictured as ms. Conservative America.. but doesn’t bother making a turkey cause it’s ‘too much work’?
She’s a quitter at everything she does. She doesn’t give a crap about her fans.. that is, once they’ve paid the 4.95 for her book. She’s uninformed, she’s a liar, a loony and a hypocrite – and people need to know that.. so we, unfortunately, have to endure these articles about her until her ‘fans’ realize it.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:11 pmLarge crowds of people turned out to catch Palin at the race, hoping to get the chance to meet the former Alaska governor.
The crowds couldn’t easily be estimated to be in the thousands so she quit.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:11 pmThis is a TP hachet job. The great George Bush showed you can quit the presidency without leaving the White House. So the visual of Sarah Palin sending in her resignation letter to Secretary of State John Bolton and leaving the White House with Itederod wolves in tow aint. gunna. happen.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:11 pmSarah has a problem.
She is unable to finish whatever she starts.
It was something observable in her since she was a student.
We don’t know what else in her private life she has begun and not completed, but we do know her governorship was cut short for apparently no real reason.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:12 pmdelafield says:
How many more months or years can Palin stretch her celebrity status out before the right wing lunatics reject her?
Palin’s shelf life is getting shorter. She endorsed the teabaggerin NY, Hoffman, and he lost. The elections in 2010 could be her Waterloo. If she endorses more people who lose, then she will be gone from the public eye, no matter how hard she tries to stay in the spotlight. Palin will become a persona non grata in conservative circles.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:16 pmI recall that Sarah was asked about Thanksgiving dinner last year and she said then, that her mother and sisters take care of that. It sort of fits the pattern for the former beauty pageant winner — as long as you look good, you don’t have to do much, no matter where you are – home, college, governor’s office — just sit there, coiffed and in fashion — that’s her “job.”
November 28th, 2009 at 3:18 pmTracy says: “We asked some questions, we found some answers”.
Who’s the “we”, sweetpea? Would that be you and the 20 other voices in your empty little head?
November 28th, 2009 at 3:21 pmA concise, definitive smackdown of Palin. This is good stuff:
– - Maybe it hasn’t come soon enough…the end I mean. After all, book critics have been tearing into the mind numbingly absurd pages of the Palin propaganda piece for almost two weeks.
It’s getting unbearable. The daily updates on her book tour which comprises stops in communities where apparently the only people reading her book are those who fear for their life, liberty and Medicare coverage. People who can’t name one public policy or foreign policy position Palin endorses but can only say “she’s real”
Real what?
Look sister, until you have enough guts to roll the rogue express down Broadway and hold a book signing in Manhattan, you’re not real, you’re just really fooling yourself about your marketability and your rogueness.
In fact, judging from film coverage from the small Midwest towns where Palin has dared to venture, if Palin’s book tour were a Starbucks, it’d be a sea of plain Vanilla steamers at a time when the country is becoming more of a complex carmel macchiato.
Yeah, I know the story line. Those who line up to buy her book are disillusioned by the perceived East/West coast “elitist, smarty pants” mentality that they believe looks to the heartland with a disparaging eye. Talk about a red herring.
Do the parents in Port Washington, Pennsylvania really hope their kids grow up “not smart enough” to have a shot at getting into the best (dare I say elite) colleges in the country?
Ironically, the people in rural America are supported heavily by the federal income tax dollars that flow from East and West coast inhabitants, that pay their farm subsidies, auto industry bailouts and Ma and Pa Jones Medicare and Social security.
But they apparently want a return to the simple times when you could gather around the kitchen table and not worry about the complexities of a global economy and the real challenges of governing a country where our greatest strength is our diversity.
It’s all noise, generated by the Sarah Palin’s of the world who want to distract from their inability to articulate real solutions to real problems by repeating meaningless phrases. Last week in answering about a dozen questions from Rush Limbaugh, Palin said some combination of “solutions,” “conservative” and “commonsense” twenty-five times.
Here’s a tip: If you have to repeatedly qualify what you’re saying is a commonsense solution, than it’s not really a commonsense solution.
The beauty of commonsense solutions is that they are common without having to be labeled as such. In fact it’s all common “nonsense.”
A desperate attempt to conjure up a bogeyman for the ills of America and pretend things like we can send more troops into battle without having to face the reality of supporting them, not just with yellow ribbons and empty pep rally rhetoric but with ways to pay for them.
This however is an anathema to the twenty something percent who still believes Sarah Palin is lucid. This approach creates an uncomfortable reality that without someone to demonize, they’d be force to accept responsibility and offer real solutions, not soundbites.
In short, Palin has become the definition of Twitter. She’s limited to 140 characters no matter what the topic.
And lets face it, the more you read or hear about her 413 page affront to known facts and basic intelligence, the more you realize just how thankful we should be to be that she came along at a time when enough Americans believed that having a grasp of issues was more important than entertaining a delusional narcissist.
But I digress.
We’ve had our fun here at andrewhalcro.com with our take on Palin’s book. The videos inspired by Tony Hopfinger at (www.alaskadispatch.com) proved that not sometimes, but every time, laughter is the best medicine. However in closing the discussion for one final time about Palin’s “somebody done someone wrong song,” I feel compelled to respond to what was not in the book rather than rehash what is in the book.
The first thing that is noticeably absent is the lack of any character arc.
There is no personal growth in the entire book, from the beginning where she blames the old boy network (Ruedrich, Allen, Stevens, Murkowski) to the final chapter of blaming the new boy network (Schmidt, Bitney, Wallace et al.) she exhibits no personal growth as a person, a candidate or in her role as an elected official.
In every capacity she is always the aggrieved party, even when she is in charge and has the power to change the circumstances. But more importantly, her tale of woe proves one thing; Sarah Palin is no Barracuda, she’s more like a spineless jelly fish.
She writes about former Public safety Commissioner Walt Monegan’s bad behavior in her book, but did she ever talk directly to Monagan? No. In fact she had her acting Chief of Staff fire Monegan, but not before she cowardly got on a plane to Philadelphia.
Now there’s a leader you can be proud of.
How about Chuck Kopp; why isn’t their a page or two dedicated to his brief ten day tenure as Monegan’s replacement? At least Palin could have done is explain why she hired him so quick then paid him $10,000 to leave just as quickly.
Palin reportedly regales readers about how hard she paddled years ago to induce labor, so how come she didn’t tell us why she paddled so hard just last year to get away from Kopp while dropping ten grand of taxpayer money in the wake to make him go away quietly.
Again, more signs of a trusted leader and a competent manager.
And what of young Frank Bailey? Not one page dedicated to the man who made an “unknown and unauthorized” call to an Alaskan State Trooper in order to get Palin’s former brother in law fired. I would have expected a truthful explanation of what happened and why it took her three weeks to discover Bailey made the call after denying any phone calls or pressure had been brought to bare.
In addition, why didn’t she explain why an employee who supposedly misrepresented that he was calling on her behalf was punished with a two month paid vacation.
She writes harshly about John Bitney, but did she ever talk to him directly about his Blackberry or anything else she took issue with? No. In fact when Bitney was fired, he found out only after trying to use his state issued Blackberry to call his office and it was turned off.
Then to blame him for not communicating with lawmakers about her vetoes is another sign of her ability to lie. The fact is in June 2007, in the weeks leading up to Palin’s vetoes, lawmakers knew she was considering cuts to the capital budget and tried desperately to meet with Palin but she refused.
Again, a competent leader who is not afraid to show spine.
And then there are the things she conveniently left out about during her two hundred word assault on me. Oh the stories I could tell…and will in time.
Palin writes about how my gig as a radio host and blogger was a “step up from my previous job as a limo driver at Todd’s cousin’s wedding.”
Why didn’t she write that I owned the company and I was driving because the chauffeur originally scheduled for the run was sick? I guess in Palin’s world a small business owner should take the same approach she did when faced with a challenge; give up and quit instead of taking care of your responsibilities.
And why did she leave out that when I was elected to the State House in November of 1998, she sent me a hand written note congratulating me and saying she hoped I’d bring my “small business” experience to Juneau?
Why?
Because in doing so Palin would reveal what many of us found out years ago; her inability to tell the truth is only second to her inability to accept the truth.
And of course my favorite part she left out was the truthful nature of our very limited and brief discussions prior to the 2006 campaign.
She left out how we were brought together to meet by Andre McLeod and in fact we only talked twice…twice, about our thoughts regarding the upcoming gubernatorial campaign; once at Cafe Del Mundo in December of 2004 and again in June of 2005 in Palin’s living room.
Why did she exaggerate our discussions? Because the third time we met we were both well on the campaign trail and that was the infamous April 19, 2006 meeting at the Hotel Captain Cook when she looked across the table and said: “Andrew, I watch you at these debates with no notes, no papers and yet when asked questions you spout off facts, figures and policies and I’m amazed. But then I look out into the audience and I ask myself, does any of this really matter.”
I’m proud to say that quote was printed in almost every newspaper from the New York Times to the London Times during last years presidential race. If it caused one person to change their view on Palin’s competence, I’ll gladly take full credit.
The truly amazing thing about her 2006 quote was it still had shelf life two years later. Her lack of public policy knowledge captured in that 2006 conversation was her Achilles heel in 2008 and a major reason why she had the highest negative ratings of any Vice Presidential candidate in history.
When you think about it, a year has passed since the defeat in last years Presidential race and the book represented Pain’s best opportunity to address critical public policy issues and provide a blue print for the future.
However Palin’s diatribe does little more than simply reinforce the growing belief that she is only able to play the role of the cheerleader not the leader, the victim not the protector and the mean girl instead of the compassionate Christian.
But to Palin’s defense, she’s never been forced to change or as some would say, mature. Her supporters love her for what she is, not what she knows. In fact it was one of the most interesting phenomenon’s of the 2006 campaign was that she was never forced to compete on ideas because her populist appeal was so strong.
Even after being summarily dismissed by a majority of voters in November 2008 and growing evidence that the more the country heard from Sarah Palin, the more they believe she is unqualified, her supporters defended this as a quality to be cherished.

November 28th, 2009 at 3:26 pmLyin palin surfaces again……palin really wanted to avoid the press. Any questions tougher than a hannity or van susterin interview would be too tough for the greedy, ignorant and pathological liar, palin.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:28 pmthe conservofacists love palin so much because they need a strong quitter as a leader right now. they need someone who can quit with the best of them so they can quit the legacy of george bush.

What a pathetic and miserable whiner you must be. If you put your ignorance on a soapbox like lyin palin does, you better expect to be criticized for you actions or inactions. Palin has proved over and over to be a liar, a hate monger and a hypocritical “value moralizing” opportunist. She deserves all the negative news that comes her way.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:33 pmPalin has dreams of being the first woman to quit the presidency.

November 28th, 2009 at 3:42 pmmarcella, go here.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:47 pmThat’s it, libs. We know Sarah’s taking not a niblet of independents in 2012. We therefore will push for an extra large order of diebold machines to be used for caucuses, primaries and the general election. Democracy is best when the masters decide for the masses.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:47 pmTracy__5 eye-poppingly twaddles thus:
Governor Sarah Palin is our Margaret Thatcher
First, is former governor Palin.
Second, as much as I disagree with conservative politicians, I just have to give Margaret Thatcher credit for: a) being smart, b) being competent at what she did (she is still the longest-serving PM ). Thatcher never was a whiny little person, complaining about being criticised by her opponents.
Sarah “can I have cheese with my whine” Palin is neither smart nor competent -which is probably why braindead morons like Tracy__5 like her so much.

November 28th, 2009 at 3:51 pm- – Heh, sorry Z.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:53 pmZooey – I’ve got oatmeal-raisin and chocolate chip-walnut. Take as many as you like!
I ran a 5k race in school once. It was much more difficult than I thought it’d be, partly to the extremely quick pace the frontrunners had set. About halfway through I was very tempted to quit, I must admit, was hurting bad, but just then my coach showed up and ran with me a bit and I didn’t want to let her down, so I finished it. Did pretty well too.
I would hope that anyone seeking higher office and/or someone seeking to influence public policy and the country’s direction would be able to at least summon up a bit of that for her fans, that “I can’t let them down!” spirit. She doesn’t seem to have much substance and certainly not enough to lead this country.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:55 pmFound it, thanks.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:55 pmTime to start a list. Someone please correct me if I make an error or leave something out:
o She quit her job as a TV Sportscaster to run for Mayor.
o She quit as mayor to run for Governor (or after she was elected).
o She quit her job as Governor 2/3rds through her first term.
o She “quit” a book signing when they reached “the letter N” and left fans waiting in the rain/snow.
o She never even started to try and cook Thanksgiving dinner because it was “too much work”.
o Almost certainly Ditto on writing her book.
o Now she quits a 5K run in mid-race.
Did I leave anything out?
November 28th, 2009 at 3:57 pmHow many schools did she quit?
November 28th, 2009 at 4:00 pmThis business of her and Michele speaking at the upcoming teabagger convention – am I the only one who finds that really odd?
I mean, aren’t most teabaggers Libertarian?
November 28th, 2009 at 4:01 pmShe “quit” college five times because she wanted to get away each time from the liberal elitists who were threating to redistribute her final grades to the underperforming students.
November 28th, 2009 at 4:02 pmPalin quit the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.
November 28th, 2009 at 4:07 pmThanks, mary lacewing, I’ll have one of each. :-)
November 28th, 2009 at 4:10 pmThe whole world is a-twitter
Over ex-governor Palin, the Quitter
Yet she forsook
Those who purchased her book,
Now we wish we could only forget her.
But the media puts her in our face:
Look! Now she’s running a race!
With a wink and a smile,
She ran for awhile,
And then quit without leaving a trace.
She was the best that McCain could pick,
To be his Vice-Presidential side-kick.
And the GOP,
Loved this VP to be,
But now she’s making them sick.
So here’s to Governor Quitter:
November 28th, 2009 at 4:25 pmMay we never-ever forget her,
And give her her due,
When she quits right on cue
With her poll numbers’ down in the s_itter.
Palin said she wasn’t going to be making a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving because it was “too much work.”
Well, at least she didn’t say: “It was hard work.”Like our most recent former President.
November 28th, 2009 at 4:25 pmPalin quit her twitter . . . .
I think she quit quitting twitter this fall
November 28th, 2009 at 4:33 pmto promote the book she didn’t really write, though.
Tracy_XXIX says:
All this seething hatred for one of the loveliest women in America? Shame on you!
C’mon, tell us the truth. You’re really Rich Lowry, aren’t you?
Do you “sit up a little straighter” when she winks?
November 28th, 2009 at 4:39 pmWell done, BnF. Well done. :)
November 28th, 2009 at 4:40 pmBah hahahahahahaha! Sarah has quit again! I can’t wait for her to run in 2012. We have so much to go on. Hell, her Quitter File is huge!
November 28th, 2009 at 4:41 pmI sit up VERY straight when she winks. Then I look down.
November 28th, 2009 at 4:42 pmCouldn’t her presidency be like a Bush/Cheney arrangement, where Vice President Beck does the leading in an undisclosed bunker and Palin’s trotted out to do the scripted shilling and to take the heat?
November 28th, 2009 at 4:45 pmTracy__5 says:
Apart from all of Palin’s other failings, can I just point out what a terrible idea it is to run for President on a platform of “I’m more beautiful than you”?

Great quitters list going here… and what a great campaign ad. This should be enough to wake up some of the star struck Fox viewing goons that idolize her.
November 28th, 2009 at 4:47 pm@tracy__5
she is not governor palin anymore because she QUIT. she is simply sarah palin. so will you please stop calling her “governor.”
November 28th, 2009 at 4:49 pmLet’s picture Sarah Palin as president overseas talking with heads of state….*seeing Sarah in my mind’s eye up and leaving the table in a huff because no one is commenting on her hair*.
Embarrassing!

Are you accusing your Moose Goddess of smearing herself by giving up? I’m sure that violates at least five questions on the Republistalinist Party Loyalty test.
November 28th, 2009 at 4:54 pmWhen inconsistencies are put on the projector screen for my pro-Palin party to realize, that is “smearing.”
How dare you, libs!
November 28th, 2009 at 4:57 pmOSTL says:
Smear Palin much?
Please, in all seriousness, how do you define the word “smear”? I’m asking politely. I really want to know.
November 28th, 2009 at 4:57 pmNo, she smears herself.
November 28th, 2009 at 4:57 pmSmearing Palin allows her to play the victim. See? One day she’s touting on her Twitter page how she’s going to run in the 5k Turkey Race and then when the race is on she quits halfway through it, because she doesn’t want to face her friends on the other side of the finish line. And this will be our (liberals & the MSM) fault? Yep! I’m sure she’s concocting up some story at the moment to blame all of us for her quitting for the umpteenth time!

Look at the RNC payroll, Slappy. Is your name on it?

Name at least one worthwhile quality that woman has going for her? Maybe in the appearance dept…. but that is also as phony as the personality she is set up to be.
Foam, padding, make up, psycho babble con are not worthwhile qualities.
November 28th, 2009 at 5:05 pm#95: Apart from all of Palin’s other failings, can I just point out what a terrible idea it is to run for President on a platform of “I’m more beautiful than you”?
– - “I’m more beautiful than you” was, concidentally, the obviously flawed and failed slogan Richard Nixon used in 1960.
November 28th, 2009 at 5:07 pmIs “spunky” a quality?
November 28th, 2009 at 5:08 pmOnly an ignorant fool would believe that Sarah Palin wouldn’t quit on them. She is not capable of following through on anything that doesn’t involve her standing or sitting in front of a camera. How sad… in another 6 years she will be fifty and considered “over the hill” by her followers.
November 28th, 2009 at 5:11 pmIs “spunky” a quality?
“I hate spunk.” – Lou Grant
Can we also add “flunky” and “punky” to the list? Who knows what else? Drunky? Skunky?
November 28th, 2009 at 5:13 pmWhen Sarah becomes satisfied with the rung she’s achieved in the millionaires club, I will happily buy the excuse that she’s leaving behind her supporters to spare them the wrath of the liberal elites and media.
November 28th, 2009 at 5:24 pmWhy did she even bother announcing her participation in the race? If she hadn’t taken the time to TWEET about it, none of us would have know. Some people say that she has “such great political instincts,” but all I’ve seen is FALSE STARTS and QUITTING.
November 28th, 2009 at 5:29 pmPalin is all surface. She doesn’t have an ounce of depth in her. She knows how to play in front of a crowd. You give her all the people who never got and have no aspiration to get past the 5th grade; she turns them into her minions, i.e., Tracy_5. (although I have a sense that Tracy is doing their best to rile people here up. I’m not taking the bate though. Even her fan base can’t explain why they like her…. they just do.

– - We apologize for not being able (or willing) to compete, and compare Palin to Hitler, Stalin, Karl Marx. I actually think Palin is more like Gladys Kravitz from Bewitched. How’s that for a smear?
November 28th, 2009 at 5:42 pmOnly not as smart.
November 28th, 2009 at 5:46 pmA fine piece of snark I found at a site called rumproast.com:
Cut her a break, will ya?
Once you reach the halfway point in a 5k race, you’re pretty much a “lame duck” for the rest of the run. You’re not going to accomplish anything else, and you’re just going to be challenged on all sides by other runners with an agenda to wear you down and prevent you from pushing your double-stroller over the finish line.
Bailing out early was a decision that served the best interests of Alaskan voters and the American Red Cross. Also, as the Yakima Herald pointed out, the race was holding up her dinner plans.
November 28th, 2009 at 5:47 pmFor me,the creepy thing about Sarah Palin is how the wingnuts immediately fall in love with someone who was chosen.
There are plenty of Republican women out there–Christine Todd Whitman, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Olympia Snowe, who have won elective office, served for years, handled tough and complicated policy decisions–who could be held up to show that the republican party is not all old white men. Women who could in fact be their Margaret Thatcher. But are they enthusiastic about these tough, smart right-wing women?
We had our female candidate–who waged a long, hard campaign, walked the walk, talked policy until blue in the face, faced truly awful interviews with poise and force, and very nearly won. I think she would have made a very good President. But she didn’t win. And Democrats and liberals accept that.
But Sarah? She was chosen. She fought nobody, walked no walk, talked gibberish–and immediately was America (R)’s Darling.
I think Michele Bachman is an idiot–but she got where she is by winning elections and by her speeches. Her popularity doesn’t creep me out the way Sarah’s does.
I think we had a Sarah-like moment on the Left when suddenly, in the choosing of a replacement for Hillary’s Senate seat, there was all this noise about appointing Caroline Kennedy to it. That creeped me out in almost the same way. Thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster they chose who they did. Much as I admire many Kennedys, I balk at cheering for Chosen Ones.
Sarah herself doesn’t creep me out. She’s both dumb and incurious, arrogant and oblivious. What did make me shiver is the way the adoration went on like a light switch, and has stayed on, it seems, simply because Liberals Hate Her.
You’ll fall for it every time, won’t you?
November 28th, 2009 at 5:51 pmGood point, Badmoodman. My party’s outlandish comparisons of Obama to those oppressive figures in history cannot be considered smearing. My party says so.
November 28th, 2009 at 5:54 pmLet me see. If making a turkey dinner is “too much work”, where would being President be on that scale? Geez, it is looking like we have another George W. Bush on our hands here. After all, Bush complained that being President was “hard work”. Just look how “well” that turned out (not).

My opinion, and what I know about the right, appearances are everything. A photo of her at the end of a run, a true look at her real appearance, may be very disappointing to those caught up in the glitz. .. my opinion why she quit.

Lol, you can’t make this stuff up.
November 28th, 2009 at 6:20 pmpbeeq @ 120,
This liberal doesn’t hate Palin. She has sparked a curiosity, but not of the person (nothing is there of interest).A year after the elections and the Republican Party still has no voice or leader. Can we consider Palin or Bachmann as viable leaders of the Republican Party, let alone presidential candidates? I am cynical and believe both Palin and Bachmann are diversions to keep the Republican Party in the lime light, regardless of any negative press.
The floating of Cheney’s name as presidential candidate appears to be serious but the downside of his candidacy would require the vetting of the “Bush Legacy”, not a palatable choice for the rank and file Republican.
Consideration for the American Presidency was a prestigious honor once upon a time.
The Republicans have reduced it to a ploy.
Disappointing to say the least!
This is my reason to hold Palin and Bachmann in contempt, but not hate.

Let me see. If making a turkey dinner is “too much work”, where would being President be on that scale?
Good point! But these days she’s all about “common sense” solutions so maybe she thinks that she could just ’shoot from the hip’ her way through ‘all that hard presidenting’. ‘Cuz it’s just common sense, right?
November 28th, 2009 at 6:33 pmHas anyone asked Sarah yet why it’s so hard to put a turkey in the oven, mash some potatoes, boil some veggies, and make a pie or two? Seriously, it’s not like we’re asking her about reading newspapers….we’re asking her why she has never made a Thanksgiving dinner and why she still is calling herself a patriotic American!!!!
November 28th, 2009 at 6:37 pmIf I may, I would like to say something about Sarah Palin from a mans point of view. I have heard the stories about the repug party wanting palin in the mix because her good looks can only help the party out. When palin was on Oprha the only thing that I saw was her hairdo. Think about it, her head looked like a huge square block with her ugly ass hairdo.
November 28th, 2009 at 6:39 pmI will say that I have seen pictures of her in her bluejeans, I will admit that the lower half of her body looks hot.
Then she opens her mouth and talks and she has no clue as to what the fck she is talking about. I think that is the biggest turnoff for anyone. Seriously, all you have to do is read the comments on TP from the women who are regulars here.
Their intelligent comments are more of a turn on then some wingnut in bluejeans. I love liberal and progressive women.
Palin:quitter::Palin:quitter. Not saying much, or saying it all, you decide…
November 28th, 2009 at 6:39 pmI was so upset. I waited to President Palin at the finish line and she did show.Damm the liberal press for being there, all she wanted was to be with her people, can’t they understand and let her alone.
upset teagagger
November 28th, 2009 at 6:40 pmThis woman quits everything. She has no place in public office. Let’s never forget. And— what else is “too much work”, you lying quitter? The Vice-Pesidency? Yes-definitely. The Presidency? – don’t even think about it, you lying, quitting, racist, ignorant, hate-filled, vengeful dolt. Have tea with the tea-baggers; it’s all you’re good for.
November 28th, 2009 at 6:40 pmHow can anyone – especially women– support this ignorant, no-nothing quitter named Sarah Palin(R)? If she’s the best Repubs have, they might as well concede right now. You’d think the GOP wants us to believe all women are even more stupid than Palin is (since she’s the best). They’re wrong.
November 28th, 2009 at 6:44 pmTo Quit or to Twit, that is the question…
November 28th, 2009 at 6:47 pmSarah Palin is ‘conservative pretty’ which means she’s pretty on the outside but butt-ugly on the inside!
November 28th, 2009 at 6:47 pmPretty soon Sarah will be asking those around her, “Honey, I’m too pretty to walk to the other side of the room. Can you carry me over there please?”.
November 28th, 2009 at 6:48 pmSlappy @ 106,
November 28th, 2009 at 6:52 pmYou always have a way of framing an arguement. I can honestly see the male conservative’s perspective on Palin.
Thanks Slappy
Who wants to bet Sarah Palin would quit the conservative “purity test” half way through:
http://videocafe.crooksandliars.com/heather/mary-matalin-defends-gops-purity-test
November 28th, 2009 at 6:53 pmI think that when a person quits things over and over again it becomes an acceptable way of doing things for them, and obviously her supporters also think one can be a successful college student, mayor, member of a state energy commission, governor, book signer/faux author, race runner, and president if one has a history of quitting.
I’d love to see their reaction if firefighters, police officers, doctors, teachers, EMTs, nurses, and all other government-employed/licensed officials quit.
Would quitting be as acceptable to them then?
November 28th, 2009 at 6:55 pmCooking a Thanksgiving Dinner is too much work?
I drove 1156 miles to Kansas City to cook a Thanksgiving meal for my elderly father then drove the 1156 miles back to the east coast. Time on the road: 4 days. Time at Dad’s: 2 days (1 day shopping and cleaning for him, the other day cooking and more cleaning). Too much work? No, not for my father. Got home about two hours ago.
This woman epitomizes the term “slacker”. If it’s too much work to fix a meal for her family (on a holiday set aside to give thanks for all of one’s blessings), how will she deal with the issues that arise from being called President Palin? Never mind, the question answers itself.
If she decides to run in ‘12, she’ll be as cooked as Dad’s Thanksgiving turkey. Stick a fork in her.

Personally, I think that men who are secure in their ‘manhood’ realize they have nothing to fear from a smart, feisty woman who speaks her mind and, indeed, have everything to gain with such a woman by their side.
November 28th, 2009 at 6:57 pmYes he does, Mary Lacewing! LOL
November 28th, 2009 at 7:01 pmMary, you should see how the men/imbeciles in my town react to me after their buddies (the 3 slimeballs on our Selectboard) fired our female REPUBLICAN town manager (she’s one of those good republicans we haven’t seen for decades now!) and I started showing up at their meetings with protest signs! Let’s just say I’ve had…
My house paintballed
Bags of dog crap thrown in my yard
Morons driving by my house yelling obscenities at me
“Someone” (always sounds like the same truck) rev his truck engine at my house to “mark me”
Have I given up because of intimidation? Nope! I bring larger protest signs now! LOL Also, myself and others petitioned for a recall ordinance for our town, it was on the ballot this past November and it passed by 2/3 of the voters. Oh yeah! We’re not gonna stop till the last slimeball has dried up and blown away!
November 28th, 2009 at 7:07 pmHey Kay, we ALL have a thing for you.
And every other woman on this blog.
Liberal men know that if we restrict our relationships to women who aren’t as smart as we are, we’ll never learn anything.
A belated thank you to you all. I hope the men (and women) in all your lives know how lucky they are.
November 28th, 2009 at 7:07 pmKay, sscncturn64, have I been missing something here lately?
November 28th, 2009 at 7:11 pmI hope the men in all your lives know how lucky they are.
I know I am. I could never marry a stupid person. That’s why I married Jane.
November 28th, 2009 at 7:12 pmAt this rate Palin = quitter will become a word in the dictionary like Quisling = traitor
November 28th, 2009 at 7:13 pm“…I hope the men (and women) in all your lives know how lucky they are.”
Bobwurst, of course Wayne knows how lucky he is, and he’ll be the second person to tell you so! :D
November 28th, 2009 at 7:14 pmOops, okay, Wayne WAS the first! :D
November 28th, 2009 at 7:14 pmWe liberals are a force no matter our sex, color, or creed, Bob! Why do you think the neck drooling knuckle draggers are copying us lately? They’ve got nothing Bob on how to be patriotic, work as a team, and be REAL. They’re shallow hallow armpits.
November 28th, 2009 at 7:16 pmKay and Mary, Did I make it obvious that I have thing for Kay?
November 28th, 2009 at 7:17 pmSomething about a woman with wits and intelligence just makes my heart thump.
KayInMaine – wow! Keep up the good work and I just hope that the ones who are overcompensating (cough – how big are the tires on that truck?), that their intimidation efforts remain relatively tame! They sound a bit like some of our trolls, incapable of engaging with honest debate and reason so they resort to threats and juvenile behavior.
You’re my kind of lady!
November 28th, 2009 at 7:18 pmHi vote down baby…
November 28th, 2009 at 7:18 pmAnd the pathetic VD troll strikes again…must be askeered of smart women…

November 28th, 2009 at 7:21 pmWhy do you bother? For real I am interested. I mean the stupid votes are erased almost instantaneously. Wouldn’t you be more successful at swaying minds if you used words?
Ah, yes … the I-Quitarod strikes again.
November 28th, 2009 at 7:22 pmThanks Mary, likewise.
November 28th, 2009 at 7:23 pmJane, I really don’t know why the VDTs even bother! It totally backfires on them as everyone else clicks away to erase the undeserved negative vote and their target just ends up with an even higher vote tally than they probably would have had otherwise!
But I guess it has something to do with that lack of reasoning. Either that or the juvenile striking back behavior that we see at times.
November 28th, 2009 at 7:23 pmMary, I AM dealing with trolls here on a local level. They hate my guts which means……….I’m winning! One of the local buffoons with a mullet has started a forum online and one of the first posts he did was called, “Moonbats???”, and he named me and one of the 70-something women in my town as examples. (The moonbats are winning! LOL)
This is the same guy who was so upset about the recall ordinance passing overwhelmingly that he said in the paper he was going to recall one of the Selectboard members (he’s one of the slimeballs), because he has RED HAIR. Well, that prompted me last Monday to bring a protest sign to the meeting reading, “IF YOU HAVE RED HAIR, PLEASE LEAVE THE BUILDING!”. The red haired slimeball was not amused. :-)
November 28th, 2009 at 7:24 pmJane, of course trolls are askeered of smart women.
November 28th, 2009 at 7:29 pmThe trolls beat up women who threaten them with intelligence.
Thats all they know, like their boss beck say`s a woman belongs in the kitchen.
Well, Mary, being juvenile and lacking reasoning can go hand-in-hand, so…
Kay, you be careful up there – Hope no one gets violent!

Maybe the mystery troll is self aware enough to know that silent vote downs are more effective than any arugment that is dull enough for it to think up and use.
It’s the odd manifestation of that old saying
November 28th, 2009 at 7:31 pm“It’s better to be silent and be thought a fool then to speak and erase all doubt.”
Todd did marry someone smarter than him…shudder…
November 28th, 2009 at 7:32 pmJane, I know. That’s why I’ve written letters to our local paper talking about this behavior. If anything happens, the police will know where to go first. These buffoons intimidate hoping someone like me will back down and be quiet. If they just ignored me it might work! LOL
November 28th, 2009 at 7:33 pm“Thats all they know, like their boss beck say`s a woman belongs in the kitchen.”
Well, sscncturn64, I’ve got a nice hard rolling pin to help send a message to ‘boss beck’ about women and kitchens!
November 28th, 2009 at 7:35 pmKayInMaine,
November 28th, 2009 at 7:35 pmBecause he has “red hair”?! lol
Too funny. How can you possibly resist reasoning and logic like that?
A friends daughter has a genius level IQ and skipped several grades in middle & high school. When she graduated was accepted at USC, UCLA and a couple of Ivy League schools and decided to go to – the University of Maine.

November 28th, 2009 at 7:39 pmAyyah…
I still laugh at “JessicaBeehive” on Twitter. She’s Sarah Palin’s hairdresser in Wasilla, Alaska. What makes me laugh? She uses the famous quote by Laurel Thatcher Ulrich, “Well-behaved women rarely make history”, but she supports Palin who quits walking halfway across the room for gawd’s sake!
I’d love to know what JessicaBeehive has done in her life to live up to that quote. Probably nothing. Maybe she did a color & a perm at the same time? Wow! She’s a force to be reckoned with!
November 28th, 2009 at 7:39 pmThis Kay problem really irks my party. It’s like she prevents our full breakthrough on the tubes, propaganda, lies & all. I’m going to attempt to distract her neverending truth campaign by mailing her a pack of twizzlers. We can actually get in some unchallenged truths as she chews away. Or, maybe I can request Rupert Murdoch buy the entire internets and ban Kay.
November 28th, 2009 at 7:40 pmWell, Mr. Mullet was trying to say that because our recall ordinance didn’t list out specific reasons for removal, he wanted to show that he could recall someone just because they have red hair. This just shows me that he and the rest of the buffoons don’t take government/laws/ordinances/bylaws seriously. Not one person on my side of this issue would ever recall anyone for hair/skin color or for any other reason accept: abuse of power (which is what we’re dealing with!). My protest sign was saying to the Selectboard on behalf of the buffoons that we do not allow red hair in our town! They hated that. LOL

As you can see, apparently she DOES drive some men crazy!
November 28th, 2009 at 7:44 pmLOL
What the GOP, I don’t think that twizzlers will cut it. You’ll need something more chewy, with nougat and caramel and stuff. But that still won’t stop her hands…
November 28th, 2009 at 7:44 pmWhat the GOP Really Means….

You know? I’ve been thinking about this. Men in Palin’s party are A$$h*les. Ones who think their women are to be kept in their proper place, and yet its Bachmann and Palin who are ginning up the base yahoos. If this scenario continues, this will also help fracture the Conservative/Republican party.
November 28th, 2009 at 7:45 pmMy trolls take FOREVER to chew a twizzler. Slobber drenches the floor.
November 28th, 2009 at 7:47 pmThis has spurred a conversation. I wonder if the nation’s esteemed “defense” contractors have devices in the works that silence problematic bloggers and fact-checkers against the GOP?
November 28th, 2009 at 7:50 pmI just found this quote, apparently from the last paragraph of her book:
The role of government, Palin writes, “is not to perfect us, but to protect us.”
What crap. Who has ever asserted that the role of government was to “perfect” us anyway? Oh wait, I guess there is that ‘Purity Test’ thing.

It is just another straw man argument, like so many that people like Palin and Bachmann make. Whenever you hear one of them say, “…and the American people don’t want that,” you can bet that whatever came before that was never something the American people ever said they wanted.
“People think, ‘Well maybe we should close GTMO and turn the terrorists loose on the American streets’, well I can tell you, the American people don’t want that.” None of us ever said we did, but that didn’t stop these two from saying things like that.
November 28th, 2009 at 7:54 pmWasn’t it Sarah Palin’s party who gave us the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, 9/11/01, and illegal surveillance behind the backs of Americans?

Well I guess that may be partly to imply that the CURRENT government is not protecting us enough, you see, so go out and stock up on that ammo!
Funny though, try protecting the people by passing an environment-related law and listen to them howl! We don’t need clean air and water! The government is just trying to ‘take over’! Bunch of socialists trying to protect our health like that…

November 28th, 2009 at 8:05 pmIf I was trying to be discrete about my thoughts its obvious that all of you beautiful women on TP wont allow that.
Gotta love it.
So let’s see. Palin quits her job as governor in order to draw more attention to herself, makes outlandish comments on a weekly basis in order to draw attention to herself, writes a book in which she attacks her former campaign team in order to draw attention to herself …. and then quits a simple 5K charity race in order to avoid the crowds that are the inevitable outcome of drawing attention to oneself.
What part of cause and effect does she not understand?
November 28th, 2009 at 8:05 pmIs there a new SNL tonight? How the show already receiving summers off can skip weeks on-season is beyond me. Has my party NOT left them with some catching up to do?
November 28th, 2009 at 8:08 pmPalin quits a 5K forty minutes into it, a person could crawl faster and do the whole thing, this clown is the biggest fraud to come along in a while.
November 28th, 2009 at 8:09 pmSarah spends so much time away from her husband.
November 28th, 2009 at 8:13 pmThat cannot be good for any marriage. He is probably just like the rest of the educated men in the country who look at her and just want her to be far away. She will stay with him if she intends to make a run at the whitehouse in 2012, but I gaurantee she will have to pay him a boatload of money to stay with her and keep his mouth shut.
Sarah has always solved this little issue by cheating on Todd. See? That’s the one thing she doesn’t quit half way through I may add! LOL

The funniest part is she was so incensed about the Newsweek photo of her in her “running suit”. She said it was sexist, but then she participates in a real 5k race (to an expert runner this is an easy distance to run!) wearing a frumpy getup, and then quits half way through after having a temper tantrum because people were looking at her. Say wha? She confuses me. Maybe she wants everyone to respond to her as Hitler’s people did: NO EYE CONTACT BUT WITH THEIR ARMS RAISED.

Someone told her there were people at the end of the race wanting her to sign her book – so of course she had to quit!
November 28th, 2009 at 8:21 pmIn order to be a strong woman, or person, you have to have a strong mind. I can be for hard work, making it across the finish line, you know, the whole enchilada of views to force on others.
But if I’m lazy, quit half-way, and violate my belief system in other ways, it doesn’t matter that I believe in god and the bible, that does not make me qualified to be president.

Back in the campaign, we worried about the Palin pick because McCain was getting on in years and was statistically likely not to survive his first term. Clearly, we had nothing to worry about. If we had elected McCain in 2008, we’d have President Pelosi in 2011.
November 28th, 2009 at 8:29 pmSoldier_girl, did you know the sanctity of marriage to republican Governor Sanford is defined by his as: one man, one woman, a mistress, and a handful of girlfriends?

The idea that liberals are afraid of Palin or that liberals are trying to gun her down exists only in your mind and Fox News. Most of us are amused by the antics of someone who reached beyond her talents and was found wanting. She is no competition for Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama and a lot of other women, conservative and liberal, who can intelligently put together more than two sentences.

Seriously, can you burp, change the diapers, and cuddle with a zygote? I give the microphone back to you now…

November 28th, 2009 at 8:32 pmSoldiergirl, Sarah palin is one of the stupidist,moronic,selfish,bush/cheney ass kissing fcking idiots to ever have the pleasure of walking on our planet. When your and palins god created the planet 6000 years ago, palin was an experiment to see how many stupid people there would be in the year 2009. Im sure he`s thinking that he fcked up and he needs to go back to the drawing board.
November 28th, 2009 at 8:33 pmI don’t know about the state of her marriage, but I do know she spends too much time as the attack dog for her reputation, which I suspect she fears to be delicate. How will she ever find time to fulfill the duties of the presidency with that kind of paranoia?
She fired up a base in 2008, as she’s doing now, but independents quickly soured on her out of pure respect for the presidency.
Sarah is good at putting out the aura of being a winner, but when it comes down to the nuts and bolts of winning, she leaves her toolbox at home.
November 28th, 2009 at 8:33 pmsoldier_girl @ 202,
What is the problem President Obama’s personal example of the family. He has had only one wife, two beautiful children and appears to enjoy his role as father and husband. Or is it only conservatives who can corner the market on family values.
I guess Obama does measure up to the Palin status when it comes to family values. Is this what you are implying?

Legal abortions are not dependent on your personal or anyone else’s viewpoint. People have a right to control their body. Once you allow the government to outlaw a medical procedure, then you have conceded the right to allow the government to outlaw any medical procedure. That would include a man’s right to a vasectomy. I can foresee the religious fanatics wanting to outlaw such a procedure, if they could.

Thanks for your perspective, soldier_girl.
If you seriously think that the left directs ridicule at Sarah Palin for the non-reasons you enumerated (“she is a Mother and Wife and believes in God and the Bible”) then you’re not paying attention.
Sarah Palin is a joke exactly because she does NOT believe in God and the Bible, at least if her actions are any indication. Not the Bible I have studied and read, at any rate. She may be a good Mother and Wife, but again, outward appearances suggest otherwise.
If you are truly interested in discussing things with progressives here, as your approach suggests might be the case, then you will be able to do that if you have a thick enough skin. There are plenty of reasonable progressives here willing to discuss things calmly and rationally with folks like you.
But if you insist on presenting simplistic right-wing clichés as if they were compelling arguments, you’ll soon find yourself receiving the same treatment that dear Sarah gets.

Yet one more endeavor which Palin decided that she shouldn’t be expected to finish…surprise, surprise. It’s not hard to come to the conclusion that this was nothing more than a self-serving publicity stunt and that she probably never had any actual intention of finishing. I gather that Palin has run marathons in the past — but over the past few months, have there been any news reports to indicate that she’s been training as she probably would have (and should have) been if her intention to run had been serious? I haven’t heard of any — and based on what I’ve heard from people who do race competitively, entering a race is not something you decide to do at the last minute. (Then again, Palin strikes me as the sort of person who doesn’t believe that she needs to prepare for anything, which is how several people have succeeded in catching her with her proverbial britches down.) Or could it be that one of the reasons why Bailin’ And Failin’ decided to quit was because she was…trailin’?
What I consider most ironic about this is that although she appears to have done this purely for the sake of publicity, publicity was also used as the excuse for the reason why she didn’t finish — namely, because she supposedly wanted to avoid her fans! And if she didn’t want to deal with the fans, why did she herself announce that she was (supposedly) running? Am I the only person to whom this seems almost insanely paradoxical?? If you’re going to seek publicity, you have to be prepared to deal with the fans…it’s that simple. It’s at moments like this when I’m inclined to think that Palin has a love-hate relationship with attention — even though she seems to crave it desperately, I don’t think she really knows how to handle it.

As a continuation of my post @229, Sarah is so much in remedial mode, she couldn’t put together a toolbox by 2012.
And in light of the massive problems we continue to face, the focus should be on supporting the cleanup efforts of the new president people worked hard to elect. We have a president now as a result of a two year campaign. Any excitement to change presidents before Fall 2011 is simply irresponsible. We should be more excited about governing.
Ask yourself this: Are there governors who are better-versed than Sarah on national issues? Of course. Yet, only a miniscule percentage of capable governors will be elected president. The odds are better for a cabinet post.
How does Sarah stand out as a half-term governor mirred in ethics complaints?
November 28th, 2009 at 8:57 pmI’m sure the pro-lifers like Soldier_girl & OSTL would be completely for stopping the flow of semen in America by making all teenage boys have a vasectomy, then harboring their sperm, and when they’re old enough, mature enough, are financially stable, and actually WANT to have a baby, they can have a reversal, use their harbored sperm, and THEN they can have a child.
Since most of the pro-lifers are “Christians” and they don’t believe in birth control, then this would be a great way in making abortion non-existent. Right?
Or is it more fun ridiculing and threatening young girls and women when they choose to have an abortion?

Lemme get this straight, soldier_girl. You sacrificed your life, yet you are still here with us, spelling badly and mangling the language?
You haven’t sacrificed your life until you’re dead or so badly maimed that you might as well be dead. You may have sacrificed some time and put your butt on the line, but you haven’t sacrificed your life – not yet, anyway.
Speaking of spelling, it’s “Pray”, not “Prey”. All Muslims, not just those being harassed by the Taliban, pray five times a day; it’s one of the five pillars of the religion. You are correct, they do pray to Allah, who is also known as the God of Abraham, YHWH, Yahweh, Jehovah, and God the Father (and a few other names too; ninety nine, if you’re one type of Muslim, but probably an infinite number for certain other Judeo-Christo-Islamic believers).
Prey is what carnivores kill to eat.

soldier_girl @ 276,
I assure most American’s don’t want their children growing up under the influence of any radical ideology. I would like to know what you call secession, or questioning the legitimacy of this sitting president. Explain how the right to bear arms factors into a Sunday school curriculum. Explain how one party wants to assume the complete control id determining the direction of the country against the wishes of the voter.
This sound radical in my book!!!!
November 28th, 2009 at 9:17 pmYoung boys & men should all be wearing condoms! Right? I mean, you talk with your boy all the time don’t you about protecting himself? And you tell him that if he gets a girl pregnant he’s on his own, right?
You do realize a girl/woman cannot get pregnant without sperm, correct? If you’re homeschooled then maybe you don’t. *cringe*

I’m taking bets that you were pregnant when you got married.

We need to stop blaming girls/women for getting pregnant. Carrie Prejean can attest to the fact that masturbating in your room with not a man in sight results in NOT GETTING PREGNANT!
One needs sperm to get pregnant, so I say…
BOYS SHOULD BE FORCED TO HAVE VASECTOMIES SO GIRLS CAN’T GET PREGNANT.

There have been NO verified cases of parthenogenesis in human history. Put in layman’s terms, it takes two to tango. The responsibility does not lie solely with the woman. Precautions should be taken by both partners because pregnancy is not the only concern.
And, I feel I should add that with an attitude like yours, I find it difficult to believe that you are actually a female. I could be wrong, of course.

Soldier_girl
I would like to submit a progressive spin on the abortion argument. If human life is so valuable in the womb, what happens once it enters the world? The number of children living in poverty is going up steadily. Our school systems are failing. The amount of open space for children is shrinking.
American’s have not provided an environment where all children are wanted and nurtured.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:38 pmAbortion would not be a problem if there was a world that truly wanted all the children.
soldier_girl says:
…if she does not want a child well she should take care of it before she has sex.
Wow! Brilliant! I don’t know why noone has thought of this before! I mean, just because it has not worked for the last two million years—there’s no reason it should not work now.

November 28th, 2009 at 9:40 pmForced conversion to Islam has never, ever been part of Islamic practice. Not even under its most expansionist and severe. If you asked Osama Bin Laden whether Allah would respond to forced prayer, he, like any Muslim, would react with horror and disgust. Christianity, otoh, really really likes the practice.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:40 pmWhat radical Islam does impose, and what is worth fighting against, is their brand of social straitjacketing, and that mainly for women. The practices prevalent in Saudi Arabia and under the Taliban have little if nothing to do with core Islamic faith, which is why the vast majority of Muslims do not live under them.
Kenneth, did the meds help?

November 28th, 2009 at 9:43 pmOh we were having so much fun before ’soldier_girl’ showed up.
This one is for her (since she cares SO much for the little babies):
Doctors in Iraq’s war-ravaged enclave of Falluja are dealing with up to 15 times as many chronic deformities in infants, compared to a year ago, and a spike in early life cancers that may be linked to toxic materials left over from the fighting
What do you think about that soldier_girl? We invade a country based on lies (for oil and ego) and now, thanks to some very questionable weapons used by Americans in Fallujah, voila – deformities in the defenseless babies.
Save some of your (faux?) outrage for the babies of Iraq.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:43 pm#351, flight, let’s take that a little further…
If human life is so valuable in the womb, why does the right fight to protect an insurance company’s right to deny a woman coverage because she’s had a previous C-section?
November 28th, 2009 at 9:43 pmNo silly. That would be illegal to do! LOL The boys in America after having a vasectomy can go on to live their lives and when they’re ready to have a child, they would have a reversal using the sperm that was harbored years ago. See? It’s all good. I’m sure Soldier_girl and the other neck droolers would be completely for this because they are against women/girls getting pregnant and then having an abortion. There would be no more abortions!

November 28th, 2009 at 10:33 pmfor ’soldier_girl’ (they’ve begun to look into the invasion of Iraq over in the UK, fyi – if you pay attention you might learn something):
What makes Iraqis very bitter is that more than six years after the invasion, the situation for most of them has deteriorated beyond all gloomy expectations. One Iraqi last week was in tears as he spoke about his extended family, for whom life has become dominated by death and destitution. He told the Baghdadia satellite TV station:
“How long will we continue dying like this? When the bombs don’t get us, we perish of water-borne diseases, as we drink the dirty water. When the bombs don’t get us, our babies are born deformed because of the depleted uranium they used on us. Six years of hell were preceded by 35 years of oppression. When is it going to all end?”

November 28th, 2009 at 10:37 pmIf China and Russia invaded and occupied the US because we had a bad leader and 935 other lies———-would that be all right with you? And we really do got WMD! And we have used them in the past.
Keith, watching him that day you could tell he was nervous about presenting the “evidence”. It was such a joke! I remember being pissed off that a guy I once trusted had stooped to George Bush & Dick Cheney’s level! He has saved his image by supporting President Obama during the campaign. His words were eloquent and well done.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:37 pmSoldiergirl@384, No, im in the real world. You on the other hand are on another planet like the rest of the repugs and wingnuts. Like I said while your on a lib blog your husband is in the middle east banging an Israeli girl. Oh sh!t, maybe he`s doing an Iraqi girl. Just imagine your hubby bringing home a little bundle of joy from the middle east who wants to grow up being a muslim. That would fck up your day huh.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:37 pmsoldier lady doesn’t think Bush is a war criminal because he was trying to get back at Saddam for trying to kill his dad.
Please explain this logic.

Oh by the way I was pregnant before I was married! I was also offerd the simple solution by the Army.

November 28th, 2009 at 10:37 pm@432, Or you shi*ting me???? ‘Kill his daddy.’ Or you friggin nuts? Death AND destruction for THAT! What a tool you are!
November 28th, 2009 at 10:39 pmYou’re stupid. You’ve been brainwashed by the military and Fox News obviously, because you have no idea what you’re talking about.
Tell us what a radical Muslim looks like so we can pick them out since you’re such an expert! Idiot.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:40 pmmary lacewing,
November 28th, 2009 at 10:40 pmVery good. And that investigation in Britain has already turned up that Bush was talking about an Iraqi invasion in early 2001!
Would that be the 100,000+ he helped into their grave.
Jesus are you a miserable psycho.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:42 pmOh ’soldier_girl’ – can you say Lied Into War?
One memo, however, that the inquiry needs to examine carefully is the one seen by international law expert Philippe Sands QC, in which Bush was noted as telling Blair that perhaps they should paint a US plane with UN colours, hoping that Saddam would shoot at it and give the US the pretext for war. The memo of the 31 January 2003 meeting also makes clear that both leaders acknowledged lack of evidence on WMD
November 28th, 2009 at 10:42 pmNo amount of mea culpa by Powel buys him forgiveness for sitting in front of the world and telling bold faced lies.
Which I might add for anyone who was paying attention, we knew they were lies.
Only the sadly misinformed and wantonly ignorant and delusional believed the shi* storm that spewed from the white house.

soldier_girl, you should be easily be able to answer the following:
Where was your training base?
How long was your basic training?
What is your MOS?
How long was your MOS training?
What is you unit name and number?
What is the name of your embarkation base?
What weapons are you qualified on?
What is a gig line?
What is the difference between supply Class I and Class VI?
Take your time. You can probably find the answers on Google.

Uh, “soldier_girl”, you presumably took an oath when you entered the military, something about protecting and defending the Constitution of the United States, blah blah blah…did you happen to know that there is nothing in that Constitution that allows a President to go to war for the reason of revenge for “trying to kill my daddy”?
Yeesh, what a delusional troll.

Yeah, the repbulican party.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:47 pmKeith – Coming from you, I appreciate that. Thx.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:47 pmMary @ #449, funny you should mention George Bush’s idea of painting a US plane with UN colors, because on the morning of 9/11/01 right before the first plane hit the WTC, there was a pager intercept (WikiLeaks has posted over 500,000 of these pager intercepts) stating IRAQ HAD SHOT DOWN A SPY PLANE:
http://911.wikileaks.org/files/messages_2001_09_11-08_40_2001_09_11-08_44.html
Weird huh? It’s almost as if the Bush Regime was thinking….”if today’s attack isn’t successful we’ll have a backup plan to get into Iraq with”!

November 28th, 2009 at 10:49 pmThese have got to be the most uninformed, pathetic trolls have have seen in some time. They are all over the damn place. And they are making fools of themselves. For every outrageous statement they make, I have no time to respond. They are truly hopeless sheeple.

I don’t care what Kerry said. He was given false information by Bush too.
Do you see how that works?
November 28th, 2009 at 10:52 pmGeorge Bush had also approached the TELECOMS about spying illegally on Americans IN FEBRUARY 2001……….SEVEN MONTHS BEFORE 9/11! Oh, but you trolls believed him when he said, “We gotta spy on ya ’cause of 9/11 ’cause we wanna protect ya, okay”.
You’re fools, tools, and droolers.

November 28th, 2009 at 11:06 pmOSTL @ 463,
May I remind you that G W Bush was extended the benefit of the doubt. All presidents are responsible to protect the country. When that trust was betrayed through lies do you extend the blame to those that trusted Bush because he was the president?
Unfortunately the “Conservative Legacy of G W Bush” has perverted this country, our Congress and our Military (QED: She_solider). I would tread very lightly extended the blame except where it belongs; you end up begging more questions than would you care to answer.

You’re just another weekend warrior with magnetic bumper stickers on your vehicle.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohXsdbF-7jc
He’s five foot-two, and he’s six feet-four,
He fights with missiles and with spears.
He’s all of thirty-one, and he’s only seventeen,
Been a soldier for a thousand years.
He’a a Catholic, a Hindu, an Atheist, a Jain,
A Buddhist and a Baptist and a Jew.
And he knows he shouldn’t kill,
And he knows he always will,
Kill you for me my friend and me for you.
And he’s fighting for Canada,
He’s fighting for France,
He’s fighting for the USA,
And he’s fighting for the Russians,
And he’s fighting for Japan,
And he thinks we’ll put an end to war this way.
And he’s fighting for Democracy,
He’s fighting for the Reds,
He says it’s for the peace of all.
He’s the one who must decide,
Who’s to live and who’s to die,
And he never sees the writing on the wall.
But without him,
How would Hitler have condemned him at Dachau?
Without him Caesar would have stood alone,
He’s the one who gives his body
As a weapon of the war,
And without him all this killing can’t go on.
He’s the Universal Soldier and he really is to blame,
His orders come from far away no more,
They come from here and there and you and me,
And brothers can’t you see,
This is not the way we put the end to war.

Our “Warrior President” couldn’t drag his sorry butt out of bed to complete his reserve duty, and all Bush’s service records mysteriously disappeared.

Kay, these trolls have no idea what it is like to serve their country. As a volunteer, I have seen ‘Conservatives’ belittle people who do things that are truly selfless. Their motto is, “Hey, if you don’t get paid, you are a loser.” Well, as a volunteer, go ahead and call me a loser. I will serve people who need it, and I will do so willingly.

November 28th, 2009 at 11:35 pmA guy cannot carry a baby so it is not his body that has to worry about getting pregnant. He only has to choose between marriage and child support. — Soldier Girl
***********************************************************
Good grief, lady…have you ever really bothered to listen to a man?? For that matter, do you comprehend the difference between hearing and listening — as in, merely using your auditory apparatus vs. making a sincere effort to understand the other person’s perspective even if they’re having difficulty expressing themselves? Based on the posts which you typically leave here, my guess is that the factual answer to both questions is firmly in the negative.
You seem to think the majority of men view marriage and child support as being a walk in the park, when in fact nothing could be further from the truth. Many men are at least smart enough to know that being a husband and a father is a huge responsibility — one which, unfortunately, some men don’t succeed in handling as well as they should. One of the reasons why many men display ambivalence when it comes to marriage and children is because they’re secretly worried about possibly disappointing people whom they love and who love them. This is because men in this society get their rewards, internal as well as external, by being productive and accomplishing the goals they set out to achieve — and failure to do so is one of the things many men fear most. Unfortunately, boys in this culture aren’t encouraged to be honest about their more vulnerable feelings — indeed, are often actively discouraged from doing so — men often have difficulty voicing what they feel. (I’ve even heard that sex is actually one of the few real emotional outlets that some men have, which may be one of the reasons why some of them crave it so much.) Like many things in life, fear affects different people in different ways and not everybody knows how to deal with it constructively. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that most of the mistakes which people make in this life are the result of not knowing how to deal with their emotions constructively.
Men are only human which means they aren’t perfect and make mistakes — unfortunately, making mistakes when it comes to their own sexuality can have some very serious ramifications including unplanned pregnancy. Women may be the ones who get pregnant, but they don’t get that way all by themselves — which is why men should be taking responsibility for their own sexuality by making certain they’re using contraception instead of playing emotional Russian Roulette by passively and conveniently assuming that it’s the woman’s job. Mayhbe condoms aren’t much fun…but having to support a child you don’t want or marry a woman you don’t love is a lot less fun! This is not to let women off the hook, because women should be doing the same, but accidents sometimes still happen even when people are using contraception because not even the most reliable forms (which tend to be expensive) are 100% effective — and for that matter, many of the same people who are opposed to abortion are also opposed to contraception and sex education because they believe that life begins at conception and that sex should be reserved for marriage.
In short — as I said to you several weeks ago in a reply addressing this same topic (which appears to be a point of obsession for you) — life is not as simple as you want it to be and like to pretend it is. I advise you to GET OVER IT.
November 28th, 2009 at 11:35 pmReally? Got proof of this? LOL! Wow trolls, ANOTHER DIVERSION.
November 28th, 2009 at 11:36 pmostl,
My brother volunteered and served two tours in Vietnam. He said killings like My Lai were not that unusual—they happened all the time. Now people do not lie in that direction. They lie in the other direction. They would say civilian kills do not happen, when they do. They would not lie and say they happened when they don’t.
It took 18 months of struggling to get the “liberal” media to print the story of My Lai.

November 29th, 2009 at 12:33 amSoldier Girl, throughout this thread you’ve given Palin Christ-like qualities, with many references to fishing. Sarah is not your savior (nor is she mine) as she is incapable of loving or caring for ALL people. Christ loved and fed his enemies as well as his followers. Palin only loves and feeds those who give her money. Like the money changers in the Temple.

A concise, definitive smackdown of Palin. This is good stuff:
– – Maybe it hasn’t come soon enough…the end I mean.
Even after being summarily dismissed by a majority of voters in November 2008 and growing evidence that the more the country heard from Sarah Palin, the more they believe she is unqualified, her supporters defended this as a quality to be cherished
This is reality, deal with it you sick fck conservatives.

I understand 6214 american soldiers have died in Iraq/Afghanistan and 2752 Americans died on 9/11. That is war. I do not think you understand.
I speak for no one but myself here, so do not attribute my words to all the other regulars here.
Your casualty numbers are a bit off, but that’s just one of your minor mistakes. The major one was in viewing the attacks of 9/11 in the frame of a war. They were crimes. Horrific crimes, no doubt, and worth the harshest penalties a civilized society could impose. But they were crimes, not “acts of war.” Just because the people who did it may have termed it an “act of war,” it was not because it was not the act of a nation state. (At least, “officially” it wasn’t.)
IMHO, it was improper to respond to these criminal acts with the full force of our military. I would have supported sending in special forces units to infiltrate and eliminate any actual terrorists associated with the people who attacked us, but not a full-scale invasion of troops. The very size of the forces we sent in has contributed to the problems we have faced in achieving our goals there, whatever they are supposed to be now. (From what I understand, the people we went into Afghanistan to fight have moved to Pakistan, their nuclear-armed neighbor.)
There are goals that must be achieved that go way beyond our revenge war in Afghanistan (and our totally illegal and unconstitutional invasion of Iraq). We need to have Peace and stability in that region. Running around with tens of thousands of armed soldiers is not going bring Peace as quickly as you might think. Do you even know why our troops are still fighting there? (BTW, not to take it out on you personally, but I am getting sick and tired of right-winigers claiming that I don’t support our troops just because I don’t support the mission they are on. That’s f ucking bulls hit! The troops didn’t choose the mission they’re on! Just because I don’t support what they are there to do does not mean I don’t support them. They didn’t choose the mission which I oppose.)
Anyway, you need to understand that one of the primary purposes for the Bush Administration starting this war in the Middle East was so that there would be a war in the Middle East. That there be a war was far more important to them than that there be a good reason for a war. That’s the only reason our troops were sent into Iraq. And it was both illegal and unconstitutional. And you took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. How could you support a war repugnant to it?

November 29th, 2009 at 11:29 amBuckie Boy @ 621:
Excellent post…and for me, it only serves to cement something I posted on a related thread last week to the effect that Palin is hardly the “pit bull in lipstick” that some Republicans are determined to portray her as being. If she must be compared to a canine, a more apt description would be one of the breeds in the Toy class — a small fluffy lapdog which yaps a great deal in an attempt to disguise the fact that it poses little actual threat and serves primarily as a living accessory. If Palin were truly the strong woman that her supporters claim she is, one would think that she’d be willing to take more responsibility for her own mistakes instead of looking for someone else to blame. Also, since lack of critical information seems to be a recurring theme in many of the situations which have made her look foolish, one would think a strong woman would be taking more initiative to make certain that she has all the relevant information next time — but she appears to keep making the same mistake again and again, and an inability to learn from one’s own mistakes is not a character trait one typically associates with good leadership. Then again, as I stated above, Palin doesn’t appear to be someone who places much value in preparation — and the section from Buckyboy’s post related to Palin’s 2006 encounter with Andre McLeod seems to bear this out. While Palin claimed to be impressed, the rest of her statement made it all too clear that she couldn’t see much or any value in the information which was brought to the table (information which, by the sound of it, failed to coincide with what she believed and wanted to be true.)
Conservatives typically love to lecture others about the importance of taking “personal responsibility” for their own choices and the consequences thereof…but when faced with her own mistakes, the woman whom some compare to an attack dog folds like a dinner napkin and depicts herself as the helpless and innocent victim of other people’s efforts to sabotage her. Unfortunately, the fact is that there are actually very few people in this life who do not play at least some role (even if only unconsciously or reluctantly) in their own misfortune — if there’s any real truth to the notion that Palin is being sabotaged by some of the people with whom she chooses to surround herself, the very least that she should be asking herself is what might be prompting her to choose people like that and/or what it is about her that makes them want to sabotage her.
To a perceptive individual, all of these qualities put together — her inability to accept information which fails to coincide with what she wants to believe, her refusal to take responsibility for her own mistakes, her apparent lack of preparation, her habit of leaving tasks unfinished, and her arrogant self-assurance in spite of it all that none of these traits represent a significant threat to her leadership ability — are incredibly reminiscent of another prominent neoconservative politician.
That person is GEORGE W. BUSH.
If you ask me, it’s precisely that similarity in temperament which explains why she’s so popular with the birther-deather-tenther-teabagger element — and it’s the same reason why this woman should never under any circumstances be given the opportunity to hold federal office. In my opinion, we should count ourselves incredibly lucky that this woman was not placed one heartbeat away from the presidency…because in many respects, she’s simply George W. Bush in female form.

Sarah’s grandbaby’s daddy, Levi Johnson, pointed out in one of his interviews that neither Sarah or Todd ever cooked and that the children were left to fend for themselves. I guess Sarah just made that easier to believe.
In addition as the mother of one child and someone who works out of the house so I can be available to meet the needs of my child when necessary I still often feel that I am an imperfect mother. Sarah is obviously incapable of feeling any such guilt or remorse. And the way she foists her lies and guilt trips on the general public can you imagine how she manipulates those children? I suspect there will be some awesome “Mommy Dearest” type books when those kids are grown.
November 29th, 2009 at 4:01 pmJeezus H. Christ, is soldier_girl still here?
I guess she can add “trolling for the RNC” to the list of causes for which she’s willing to “sacrifice her life”.
November 29th, 2009 at 4:47 pmShayne, I’m sure that any contribution you might have made would have been invaluable. You weren’t even tempted to do a little whacking yourself? ;)
November 29th, 2009 at 5:08 pmFormer Republican Governor from Alaska Sara Palin who resigned in the middle of her term…..quit a 5k Marathon? This lady is a joke! Ran for Lieutenant Governor of Alaska in 2002 = FAILED, Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission ‘03-04′ (RESIGNED) = FAILED, Alaska Governor (RESIGNED) = FAILED, Vice President = FAILED…. President? Please, she said she was “ambushed” when Katie Couric asked her…what newspapers do you read? If that’s an ambush, how is she going to be The President of The United States?
November 29th, 2009 at 8:16 pmUnemployed Alaskan blogger quits again. Why doesn’t that surprise me.

I’m sure the pro-lifers like Soldier_girl & OSTL would be completely for stopping the flow of semen in America by making all teenage boys have a vasectomy, then harboring their sperm, and when they’re old enough, mature enough, are financially stable, and actually WANT to have a baby, they can have a reversal, use their harbored sperm, and THEN they can have a child.
Since most of the pro-lifers are “Christians” and they don’t believe in birth control, then this would be a great way in making abortion non-existent. Right?
Or is it more fun ridiculing and threatening young girls and women when they choose to have an abortion?
As a Gay Man, I kinda like your idea…then there wouldn’t be the messy clean-up afterwards. >grin<

Quiting is becoming a theme for Palin.
