New basketball league open to whites only, to get away from the ‘street-ball’ played by ‘people of color.’

A new professional basketball league called the All-American Basketball Alliance (AABA) sent out a press release on Sunday saying that it intends to start its inaugural season in June, with teams in 12 U.S. cities. However, the AABA is different from other sports leagues because only players who are “natural born United States citizens with both parents of Caucasian race are eligible to play in the league.” AABA commissioner Don “Moose” Lewis insists that he’s not racist, but he just wants to get away from the “street-ball” played by “people of color” and back to “fundamental basketball.” Lewis cited the recent incidents of bad behavior by NBA players, implying that such actions would never happen with white players:

“There’s nothing hatred about what we’re doing,” he said. “I don’t hate anyone of color. But people of white, American-born citizens are in the minority now. Here’s a league for white players to play fundamental basketball, which they like.” [...]

He pointed out recent incidents in the NBA, including Gilbert Arenas’ indefinite suspension after bringing guns into the Washington Wizards locker room, as examples of fans’ dissatisfaction with the way current professional sports are run.

“Would you want to go to the game and worry about a player flipping you off or attacking you in the stands or grabbing their crotch?” he said. “That’s the culture today, and in a free country we should have the right to move ourselves in a better direction.”

The AABA is targeting Southern cities, but one proposed city — Augusta, GA — is opposed to the league. Several other cities have reportedly told Lewis to “stay out of town.” Watch a report by August tv station WJBF:

Look – sports are not populated by people of a specific race, they are populated by people with a specific set of skills and talents. When it comes to basketball players, it seems that blacks have a natural tendency to be better equipped for the game – they tend to be faster runners and higher jumpers. Not always, of course, and there are plenty of white players who have done very well for themselves. But whether you like it or not, that’s just the way it is.

It’s not just basketball. Almost any sport that requires quickness and agility is dominated by black players.

In your original post regarding black-only organizations and the justification for their existence, your reasoning was good. But you lost it entirely when you got to basketball being black-dominated because you forgot the crux of the original purpose of black-only organizations – our society has routinely shut the door to non-whites for centuries. b-cup, you seem to have a moderate reserve of intelligence. I just don’t understand why you have such a block with certain concepts.

Basketball — sports in general — is a field in which performance is easily measured. If your field goal percentage sucks, or if the guy you’re guarding regularly exceeds his scoring average, you’re gone.

Business and education aren’t like that. They should be, but they’re not. Mediocrity has a much easier time disguising itself in a boardroom or a classroom, where few of ones superiors may be paying attention. There is no place to hide on basketball court.

Further, there is the considerable factor of opportunity. Basketball is a sport that attracts underprivileged kids because it is simple to play and requires minimal equipment. Every schoolyard in America has an outdoor court.

Conversely, there are very very few blacks in the top ranks of sports like tennis, golf and swimming, where young talent develops behind the walls of expensive clubs.

Likewise with business and education. Poor facilities and narrower opportunities are steep barriers to the kind of success that suburban kids take for granted. And let’s not even get into legacy admissions at universities and the kind of contacts in business those opportunities provide.

it would be wonderful if we had a society that was a true meritocracy. But it’s not. If it were, George W. Bush would have wound up selling used cars instead spending eight years as the President of the United States.

Business and education are much more complicated. The process of deciding who’s the best marketing analyst or the best purchasing agent is much more subjective. And, when you add history to it, subjectivity is a real problem. If people of color have historically been denied equal opportunity in business and/or education, some of us feel it is entirely proper to give them an extra hand-up to counter in some small way the institutional racism that hindered their opportunities in the first place. 161. smidget says:

But, there is a cloud over similar white people.

I’m not sure I agree with that statement. Not often do you hear of a successful white person being criticized as having only been successful because they are white. Also, I have heard MANY people say that the only reason Obama is President is because he is black. Obviously, that suggestion is silly and unfounded, but there are those who claim as much. Let’s not deny that.

It actually seems far more likely that a person who is black succeeding in what was previously considered a white man’s world are often credited with gaining that success through their skin-tone as opposed to their skill.

So yeah…I have to disagree with that sentiment for the most part.

There are, however, examples of institutional exclusivity that is based on factors other than aptitude present in our society, even if it’s not based on race. A good example is that of legacies at colleges. I’m not just talking about Ivy League colleges, either. A college near my home town offers full scholarships to students who get a 4.0 in high school AND who have at least one parent alumnus of that college. Yeah, the 4.0 is a good standard, as it indicates you will do well…but it’s not based on merit because they didn’t give it to people with a 4.0 who had parents who went to a different college.

Merit-based systems are CLEARLY the most fair, and are what I think most of us ultimately want (with exception, of course, of those who have succeeded only because a merit-based system didn’t exist….I’m looking at you, W….), but in our current system, that just isn’t what exists. Because of that, there has to be an additional factor…basically FORCING the use of a merit-system in some sectors on those who are resistant to taking on people who meet the qualifications but for some reason or another are passed over for the white guy who doesn’t…and yes, this still happens.

I sincerely hope that one day, that’s not a problem anymore. However, I also hope that we never forget that it once was. But that day is not today.

I believe in evolution. I believe that man is an animal.

I don’t know how prevalent it was, but I have the notion that there was a practice of slave owners breeding slaves. To either be stronger or better workers.

That idea is repugnant to me. It shows utter disregard for human dignity. It was wrong.

If it happened, however, wouldn’t it be a possible explanation for some of the superior athletic abilities of black athletes?

Hard work is obviously a factor in athletic ability. But isn’t genetic aptitude also a factor?

It’s not my intention to insult anybody or to forward racial stereotypes.

But, how do I reconcile my advocacy for the idea of evolution, my acknowledgement that man is an animal governed by evolution, the idea that slave owners ruthlessly bred slaves for generations; but somehow, evolution hasn’t influenced an apparent disparity in athletic ability among today’s athletes?

  210. smidget says:

If it happened, however, wouldn’t it be a possible explanation for some of the superior athletic abilities of black athletes?

It did happen, and it has been offered up as an explanation as to why blacks tend to be better at sports which require greater athletic prowess than whites.

I personally feel that there are a lot of factors that go into it, but this is not outside the realm of possible. Actually, it’s pretty likely that this does contribute.

I don’t see why these ideas must contradict. One does not create traits through selective breeding, one enhances traits. Evolution has played a role by making people of African descent more adapted to living in an environment that requires speed, agility, and overall athletic ability as opposed to Europeans, who benefit more from being shorter and heavier to protect against the cold. Slave owners simply noticed these traits and enhanced them further than nature had already done.

Yes, the breeding of slaves is a repugnant part of our history, and it’s also a likely factor in the athletic legacy of the American black community. I understand why it’s difficult for people to talk about, but I think it’s an issue that can be reasonably discussed. Slaves were, after all, seen and treated as livestock by plantation owners.

On a related thought, wingnuts seem to think that whenever a liberal notes a racial characteristic, it’s evidence of racism (that standard doesn’t seem to extend to conservatives, however). My guess is it’s because they have a limited imagination.

Racism, as I see it, is a belief that a person’s race determines his character.

well said, smidget. It is b-cup’s evident capabilities that make his failings so infuriating.

  216. pete says:

Actually, b-kup. long before slave owners started practicing eugenics, those Africans who evolved on the plains had longer limbs than most other branches of humanity. This gives people from that heritage an advantage in many sports.

One could also make an argument that a disproportionate number of Caucasian athletes take the chicken’s path of playing wimpy ol’ baseball. It seems like those lazy whites are afraid of competing against all those big strong black athletes.

However, if one looks at football, the largest group of Caucasians are offensive linemen. In case one isn’t familiar with football, the offensive line is the position most dependent on sheer size and brute strength.

Then we return to basketball. Take a look at the recent influx of white Europeans. It’s no longer rare to see white NBA players although there are quite few who were born and raised in the good ol’ U.S.A.

So? One can make a case that white Americans shun basketball and those who are tall enough bulk up with steroids until they can be offensive linemen. The little fellers play baseball.

  217. ElBruce says:

    backup says:

Hard work is obviously a factor in athletic ability. But isn’t genetic aptitude also a factor?

I suppose, but there are two problems with this notion.

    1. There’s no way to test for it. There are a great many people in the world in each “category,” and only a few of each are capable of high levels of athletic competition. So there’s no way to get a representative sample for each group. In fact, the entire point behind high level sports is that the athletes are not representative of the general population. If on the other hand you were to gather a representative sample from different groups, it would be nearly impossible to factor out cultural differences in how much different groups might exercise, or what sports they might have practiced to what levels. That is, not and have the sample remain representative.

    2. There’s no way of knowing that slave owners were using an effective “breeding” program, and a number of factors at work that might have undercut it. Some sympathetic/more-humane slaveowners might have been more likely to let their slaves choose their own partners. Many slaveowners were inserting their own DNA into the pool – hardly any African-Americans descended from slaves have 0% European DNA. There’s no clear/specific trait that we can say they were breeding for. Runing speed? Lifting capability? Disease resistance? There are too many divergent possibilities. Simply put, slaveowners had way too many competing priorities. Finally, there isn’t really a way to guarantee parentage with humans the same way there is for livestock, since we don’t work on an annual “estrus” system.

So there’s your perfectly cold-hearted and rational answer to the question.

  218. ralph the wonder llama says:

ElBruce, your sound objections noted, I think it’s still reasonable to assume that slave owners who saw their slaves as livestock would seek to breed stronger and physically more capable “property”, just as they did with their cattle. It’s also simple genetics. Some parts of the planet have produced specific physical characteristics that tend to give those people an advantage in certain activities. Very long limbs, for example, are useful in certain sports (basketball, swimming) and required no breeding programs to get the result.

In regard to sports, particularly in this country, it’s also impossible to eliminate culture as a factor. Certain sports are popular in certain cultures and produce exceptional athletes as an obvious result. Ever wonder why so many MLB players are from Latin America? It’s got nothing to do with breeding programs.

  230. backup says:

The problem with entertaining the notion that blacks are superior athletes due to evolution, is the converse.

When people use that same logic to assert that disparities in other areas aren’t due to bigotry of the system, but natural evolutionary differences.

It starts to sound too much like Hitler logic.

So, although it seems intuitive to me that blacks enjoy some superior athletic ability due to natural selection and evolution, expanding that idea to consider that success or failure in other facets of life are also governed by evolution; becomes much less comfortable.

It suggests an idea that the basis of our inequalities are natural and somehow acceptable.

I don’t believe that. I believe that all men are created equal. Whatever is going on under my skin is the same thing that is happening under the skin of a black man.

But, because I believe in evolution, it is difficult for me to discount it’s influence in disparities we acknowledge today.

  232. smidget says:

expanding that idea to consider that success or failure in other facets of life are also governed by evolution; becomes much less comfortable.

I think that the problem with this kind of thinking is that people put too much stock in the ability of our genetic pattern to determine our individual destinies. I do not accept this as reality.

It suggests an idea that the basis of our inequalities are natural and somehow acceptable.

I think we’re making too much of an effort to push equality where it doesn’t exist. All people are equal in their worth as human beings. All people are equal under the eyes of the law. But people aren’t all the same. Some are better than others at certain things. That doesn’t necessarily make them a better person or more worthy of this, that, or the other. But we are different. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

Whatever is going on under my skin is the same thing that is happening under the skin of a black man.

Well, pretty much. There are more differences than just skin color between the races. The physical structures of our bodies are different. Again, that does not make one superior to the others. It just makes us different. Ignoring the differences in the races is actually kind of dangerous. For example, prevalence rates for diseases are different for different races, and that’s not just due to social standing. Refusing to acknowledge this out of the fear of being considered racist is not productive in properly treating the disease in question.

I think the basic crux of the discussion at this point is that there are differences between the races. These differences come from both the natural world and the external influences of humanity and culture. The problem is when people think that those differences immediately equal inferiority in one or more of those races as opposed to simply being a diversity of the human race.

I am all for celebrating our differences. It’s one of the beautiful things about humans. I’m all for recognizing and understanding how deep those differences run. But I also recognize the danger in assigning a naturalism to it. I would hope that the enlightened people, at least, would understand that just because we are genetically different from one another does not mean we aren’t still, basically, the same.

And with that, I believe I have spent my reserves on this topic. I thank everyone for the discussion. Have a good evening!

  233. backup says:

Humans are animals. We could employ or be affected by selective breeding; just as any other animal. But there seems to be consensus that selective breeding (solely on the basis of physical attributes; void of emotion) is antithetical to our values.

  234. backup says:

smidget. I appreciate what you’ve had to say. Thanks. Good nite.

  235. pete says:

And the point I’m trying to make, b-kup, is that basketball is largely dependent on the length of one’s limbs. I’ll use myself as an example.

I was 5′11″ by the time I was 15 (though I topped out at 6′1″). I also have very little athletic ability or much desire to achieve it. However, due to my long limbs, I was able to dominate much better athletes in our informal basketball games. I was also able to win races against kids who were much faster than me, on level ground, when hurdles were added to the course. My long limbs gave me an advantage.

As for “athletic ability”; that’s something that’s learned. Athletic ability, or training to be more precise, is how relatively short people can overcome those with long limbs. The NBA always has a small number of, relatively, short guys who’s desire and training allows them compete against “storks”. Historically, those “short” players are more evenly split, between black and white, than those who have long limbs.

We really can’t have this discussion without dispensing with the idea of “natural ability” and “God-given talent”. Is it possible to have a genetic makeup that gives one an advantage? Yes. But, if one studies athletes to any extent, one will see that those who wholly devote themselves are the ones who excel.

  236. pete says:

Good ol’ b-kup. Always ready to leave when the conversation moves beyond his comfort level. Oh well. Just in case he stops back.

I don’t think there’s any conclusive evidence that people of African heritage are “superior athletes”. Many do, indeed, have relatively long limbs; giving them a natural advantage in some sports. However, in order for the “superior athlete” meme to be true; Shaq, and other seven footers, would have to be able to shoot free-throws as well as the little fellers.

Such is not the case. Their height is a disadvantage because they don’t get a three dimensional look at the basket which interferes with their depth perception. I haven’t shot a free-throw in twen.. thirty years and I’m confident that I could beat Shaq in a contest.

    backup says:

The evolution that happened in Africa would have the bigger influence.

Correct. And that only comes down to things like skin cancer, sickle-cell anemia and vitamin D production.

In order to make any physical assertions about Africans, you’d have to break it down by tribe, which is a lot like breaking Europeans down by specific ethnicity as well. At this point we aren’t talking so much about “race” in the way that we use the term today, but rather about very specific genetic lines. For example, the Maasai do tend to be very tall. It’s possible that many NBA players have some Maasai genes. But you’d have to do some fairly specific genetic testing for that. And even if you did prove such an assertion was true, the question remains: so what?

    .

    ralph the wonder llama says:

But wouldn’t journals and records of plantation owners count as valid data? In other words, first-hand or historical accounts of such breeding should serve every bit as well as genetic testing, no?

Since so many slaveowners were taking the prettiest young females out to the back of the shed, the data is in considerable doubt. Genetic testing can prove that nearly all the “samples” have been corrupted at some point.

Humans have a very long childhood relative to other animals, as measured between birth and fertility. That slows down any breeding program considerably. Furthermore, it’s humans running the program as well, so a workable program would have to remain consistent across many generations of slaveowners. A great many slaves changed hands between slaveowners as well, which also works against consistency.

Just because some historical racist monsters thought something would work, doesn’t mean they succeeded in pulling it off. Otherwise there’d be giant Nazi robots all over the place.

Shaq can’t make free throws because Shaq thinks he’s too good to practice free throws, and that’s the end of that story. Hmph!

  239. backup says:

pete. I agree with you that aptitude or genetics play a role and that devotion and drive can be even more determinant.

I am a freak about the idea of evolution. I have come to believe not only our physical attributes are evolved and genetically preprogrammed, but even the propensity for devotion and drive are also genetically preprogrammed.

I don’t really think about this in the context of racial differences, but more on a personal level; since I’ve been a parent. I’ve got two kids and although I parent them the same, they are significantly different.

I know that nature and nurture both have influence in outcomes. As time goes on, the more I think nature is determinant.

  240. JuanValdezz says:

What about Steve Nash, Spud Webb, John Stockton, etc. Athletics is not all physical, bottom line. The fact that there are more blacks in the NBA is more sultural than racial or physical. You can’t tell me that whites have some advantage genetically that makes them better snowboarders but yet how many professional boarders are back. This league is just a publicity stunt or a way for whities to play ball with less competition.

Sports Moose Productions Announces Shooting for Erotic Horror Flick!

(Atlanta, Georgia) (May 21, 2003)- Don “Moose” Lewis, Managing Member of Sports Moose Productions, LLC, in Atlanta, Georgia, announces shooting will begin on October 18, 2003 for the original motion picture, “Down For the Count!” , an erotic horror flick with live professional wrestling scenes included in the picture from professional wrestling organization, Xtreme Wrestling Union, a partner in the project. The majority of the film will be shot in Atlanta, Georgia with some scenes shot on location at beach locales.

“We are casting for a leading actress along with supporting actresses immediately!” stated “Moose” Lewis. “This is not your ordinary “FFF”- femme fatale film-female actresses receive great parts and action in this movie. While this is targeted for a mature audience, this is much more than your ordinary “flesh mongrel” film. You do not want to miss a single second of this once you sit down to watch it!”

Sports Moose Productions, LLC recently completed a year of producing a weekly television wrestling show for USA Networks Broadcast stations, named “IWU Wrestling – The Max!” which produced weekly ratings higher than major sports events in the same time period. Production of the series was not renewed due to the stations being sold to the Spanish network, Univision. “Moose” Lewis is also the President of International Boxing Union , Inc. -a world wide boxing sanctioning body in which professional boxers fight for World Championship Titles. Additional members of the Limited Liability Company include C.C. McCubbins of Image Ten Productions and the son of golden era Hollywood legend Rod Cameron, Tony Cameron of Mammoth Pictures.

  247. pete says:

    ElBruce,

I think that Shaq gave up on free-throws but, earlier in his career, he and his coaches devoted lots of effort. I even seem to recall that he tried hypnosis. Either way, in Shaq’s case, it’s as much mental as physical.

On the other hand, if one looks at the statistics (I have much more passion for statistics than any particular sport), one will see an obvious relation between height and free-throws. Once a player is over 6′8″, or so, the free-throw percentage drops dramatically. By the time they hit 7 feet, there are very few who can push their percentage much above 60%.

One exception is Randy Breuer. Since he came from the small town I lived in at the time, I followed his career fairly closely. Even at 7′3″, he was a pretty good free-throw shooter but, he utilized a bizarre stance to get a better look at the basket.

There are some pretty good white players in the NBA and the world now. In fact, if you had a white vs. black all-star game, it would be VERY competitive. In fact, the 2005-2007 NBA MVPs were white — Larry Bird was also the best player in the league for a few years.

It is certainly racist to say that blacks in general are better athletes than whites — Anyone who claims this should be just as comfortable saying that whites are generally more intelligent than blacks.

Regarding the all-white league, its fine with me. So is BET. Groups get together to celebrate their distinctive heritage and culture all the time. There is certainly a very real double standard when whites create groups for whites only, as if having such a group automatically implies they feel they are superior to other races.

  259. PaulMorphy says:

If they do not allow men to play in the WNBA — how would an all-white league be any different?

You’re kind of young, aren’t you, Johnny? You ought to visit a library and read in on the wonderful “speacial”* treatments that have been visited on minorities in this country. We, that is, us “white” folk are NOT a minority, and we’ve done most of the inflicting, and given the fact that a lot of us still, privately, play by rules that put people of color in second or third place, behind any “white” person, we don’t need any special treatment, or deserve it. And I don’t want to hear your sorry-ass whining, either.

Marilyn says: Back in the 70’s in the south we did have all white teams. What is wrong with that again. It will definately not take anything away from the blacks. They own basketball.Growing up my son always played with blacks during park ball and at the YMCA. He played at a private school in the 80’s with no blacks enrolled. This gave him an extra opportunity to play. He could jump, shoot 3 pointers all day, was all state and played in the final 4. During those tournaments they did play other teams with blacks and did quiet well.He played football, baseball, and golf as well and was able to obtain a schlorship that he otherwise would not have gotten at a racially mixed school. He played college baseball and all the teams had blacks and whites and they played well together. His highschool team he coaches now is mostly black and everything is just fine. MY daughter competes in the Alabama USA and has finished 3rd alt last year.Maybe now they can have an all white Miss America because they have a Miss Black America. What is the difference? There is not discrimination hardly anywhere, but reverse discrimination is everywhere. My husband played pro-baseball in the 70’s and many latinos played for less money and some just to get to live here. He may have been an equal playerand mostly better, but he was not as cheap for the team as the latinos were. During the 70’s he was passed over for many jobs such as firefighter and even had the highest score on the test. Many blacks and other races have perks, but the whites are being looked over everywhere. We are all the same and all deserve the same rights. Can we please get past this?

Do the warm up suits that players in this league will be wearing consist of white robes and hoods???

  267. PaulMorphy says:

Not sure why anyone would make a big deal about this. It is certainly indicitave of the double standard most Americans hold regarding racism.

It doesn’t seem to me that this white group is professing their league is superior to a integrated basketball league, or that whites are somehow superior to other races — any more than WNBA participants claim women are superior to men or men’s basketball. To me it serves the same purpose as the WNBA — whites would like a place where they can go and enjoy basketball played by whites.

It is a testament to the deeply seeded anti-white indoctrination within the American education system, laws, and the popular culture — to see the predominant reaction by most people is to automatically assume that those who participate in this league have some personal hatred for other races, or consider themselves superior — Indeed, this is a better definition of racism: The automatic and unfounded belief in a stereotype about persons of a certain racial group. IE: Any all-white group automatically considers themselves superior to non-whites, or favors racial segregation in society.

The position of the liberal is consistenly different when such groups are formed by blacks, hispanics, women, etc.

Gee, hay ray 86, you got some sort of keyboard dyslexia problem? Don’t worry, it’s not uncommon among us white folk who are trying to live up to the trailer trash standard. Uneducated and ignorant, that’s the way to go, by gollies.

If, however, the number of years you mention is what you really meant, that is, you meant 1000 – one thousand, then you need a remedial history lesson.

One thousand years ago, the only folks on the continents of the Americas were the Native Americans. Some Norse may have stopped by, very briefly, camped out, in what is now called Maritime Canada (Newfoundland and Labrador), somewhere between 1000 years ago and about 700 years ago.

The Spanish and Portugese arrived about 500 years ago. The Portugese had fishing camps, commercial fishing camps, on the Canadian coast and they colonized South America, along the Brazilian coast. The Spanish colonized the Caribbean, then Mexico, then Florida and Louisiana. And the French, Dutch and English arrived shortly thereafter. All the Europeans started bringing African slaves to the Americas when they found that Native Americans they enslaved died too quickly. Most of the other countries of the Americas outlawed slavery before the US did; it never really got going in a couple of places.

Almost 150 years ago, not 1000 years ago, we, the US of A, finally outlawed slavery, thus “freeing” our black brethern, who we proceeded to crap on for another 150 years. Well, sure, we crapped on some other folks too. Crapped on red folks, brown folks, yellow folks. And, the white folks at the top of the heap crapped on all those, plus the white folks at the lower end of the heap.

Perhaps you don’t owe black Americans anything; they certainly don’t owe you shit. However, as Americans, of whatever color, we at least owe each other some respect. I would find it easier to show some respect for you if you had the chops to show that you’re capable of discussing this issue in something other than a whine and with a little more attention to spelling and grammar.

    Your remarks are stereotyping BS.

  273. Virtual Pebble says:

Gee, Pauly, I’m as Anglo as the next Anglo-Saxon mother’s son, but I’ve never noticed anything wonderful and special about a bunch of white guys playing basketball. You guys stand around and talk about how wonderful it is to be playing white basketball? I assume you stand, because we all know we can’t jump.

I won’t get any further into that because of my own dippy white guy secret, Pauly. I always got called for traveling when we did basketball in PE. It’s shameful, I know, but I’m just a lousy basketball player; I don’t play and outside of checking on how my alma mater’s team is doing, I don’t pay any attention to the sport.

So, basically, on this mighty whitey basketball league, I’m kind of torn between three POVs; firstly, who fracking gives a shit about what those idiots do. Secondly, how fracking stupid can they get; why not just stand out on the corner and announce that they can’t hack it (they can’t handle playground ball – Holy Mother of Hamburger)? And thirdly, why do the rest of us have to listen to these idiots whining?

Sheeyit, dude, I come from a small town on the backside of the boondocks and you’re telling me some bunch of city boys are so wimped out they can’t handle a little in-yo-face trash talk on the court? They don’t got game? WTF? What a pack of whining slackers.

  275. El Motero says:

There is BET (BLACK Entertainment Television), There is Black Bike Week and it appears that THIS is OK and it NOT labelled as “racist”. However, if there was WET (White Entertainment Television) or White Bike Week, there would certainly calls for “racism” and bla bla bla. All of which is grossly pathetic to say the least.

Furthermore, the ignorance is appalling as well. Racist is historically a term when a race believes their race is superior. In fact, the leader of the Nationalist Social German Worker Party clearly made the point of a “master race” and so did the Japanese (both interestingly enough, allies). Such notions are indeed Racist and unacceptable regardless of who practices it.

However, discrimination is not racism -even though the term is used to discredit any opposition or achieve an illegitimate gain. The fact that I wont date/kiss FAT girls does not make me a racist; Nor it would if i were to reject fat women as friends. I am in my right to do so – it is my gain or loss.

If we were to be consequent with what many have written here, then BET and Black Bike Week would be banned, and labelled as racist. Furthermore so would be sex-segregated sports for the same reason – after all, we are all equal are we not?

Fact is critical thinking and reasoning has not been seen since the illustration – otherwise, who in the right mind would follow in droves people like Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin or subhuman morons like Chavez. In conclusion, the vast majority of people on this planet no smarter than their dog. After all only 2% of the world population are scientists and chances are, you are not one of them.

    seriously, this is ridiculous.

What would people say if someone started United White College Fund I’ll tell you “racists”! How about a all White TV channel “Racists” but BET is doing just fine.

There is a double slandered in America where if your White, just for thinking O.J. was guilty makes you “racist”. Believe me there is “racism” on both sides white or black.

It’s time to start shedding the labels; if some blacks can play better baseball so be it…if some whites are better working on computers so be it and vice versa if your good at doing something do it.

I know just for pointing out the obvious even what I wrote is going to labeled as racist by a few because it’s just that easy to do.
