On Thursday, Virginia State Delegate Bob Marshall (R) spoke at a press conference against state funding for Planned Parenthood. He blasted the organization for supporting a women’s right to choose, saying that God punishes women who have had abortions by giving them disabled children:
“The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children,” said Marshall, a Republican.
“In the Old Testament, the first born of every being, animal and man, was dedicated to the Lord. There’s a special punishment Christians would suggest.”
Marshall is also fighting against health care reform, saying that “Obamacare” is trying to take “your soul.” Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has been pushing back against high-profile figures and entities who have been attacking people with disabilities. Will she speak out against someone in her own party? (HT: Right Wing Watch)
Let me guess, yes, he has a (R) beside his name.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:47 pmSo Sarah Palin had an abortion after all, the proof being she has a disabled child?
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:48 pmMore christofascist idiocy. I move to burn all these god-squadding pricks at the stake.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:48 pmMore proof that Republicanism is a mental illness.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:48 pmSarah will say he was just using sarcasm.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:49 pmBut, on the other hand, for one of his first times ever, Marshall isn’t blaming gays for whatever it is he’s against at the moment.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:50 pmGovernor Kaine and the rest of the DNC…ARE YOU LISTENING?
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:50 pmCaption:
Take a look at the color of Marshall’s face and tell me that he’s not drinking at least a half gallon of alcohol a day.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:50 pmJust when I think these republiscum can’t get any more disgusting, they come up with something else.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:51 pmOh my GOD. That is just sick. The depravity and vileness of some people passes human understanding
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:51 pmSo Palin had an abortion?
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:51 pmReal definite proof that the division of church and state was a great idea.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:51 pmThe Old Testament also tells us we should be willing to sacrifice that first born at a moments notice, unless an angel intervenes…
Right, Isaac? That was a good time, huh?
Jeebuz, these guys got nothing but ignorance and idiocy, huh?
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:51 pmHe’s the state delegate in the district neighboring mine. His nickname is “Sideshow Bob” because of his antics. Yet he pulls 55-60% of the vote every 2 years. Truly baffling. His opponent last year was a truly level-headed and sane man with prudent ideas, yet he got trounced.
I guess our only hope is to let nature take it’s course, which, hopefully, will be soon. That’s a horrible thing to say, but in Marshall’s case, not so much. He’s borderline certifiable.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:51 pmBob Marshall (Retard)
God punishes stupid people……………..He makes them Republicans
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:52 pmI’m patiently awaiting Sarah Palin’s response to this egregious slander.
*crickets*
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:53 pmBob, when you die you will burn in the hell you so richly deserve. Not only do you not know the will of God, you don’t know Him at all. You are in fact probably one of the minions of Satan, and have caused me to sin by wishing most sincerely that you would just disappear from creation.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:53 pmJust makes you want to go out and hug God for being soooo considerate and caring. Why do these people like to follow monsters?
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:54 pmHow would you like to be stuck sitting next to this moron on a long flight????aaarrrr
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:54 pmpuffkitty says:
So Sarah Palin had an abortion after all, the proof being she has a disabled child?
I think that the dirty little secret is that Sarah really did consider an abortion of Trigg. (assuming Trigg is hers)
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:55 pmThe fact that this Jackass represents the same state (Commonwealth) that I live in is just disgraceful. I can’t even come up with a sarcastic response to this D-BAG. I am just disgusted beyond belief.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:55 pmWow! This is really spectacularly odious.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:56 pmOnce again, another Repub making up the facts. He needs to present the statistics to back up his statement. Otherwise, it’s just more propaganda from the American Taliban.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:56 pmSounds like Bob Marshall’s mother had an abortion.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:56 pmshoe
If she did she obviously needed to have one more
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:56 pm“Hypocrites and liars adopt a moral tone…” – Carbon/Silicon
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:58 pmThese people really are as stupid as I thought they were, maybe even more so. What the hell!!!!
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:58 pm“The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children,” said Marshall, a Republican.
Burn in the hell of your own making, you sick fcuk. How dare you say such a thing?
I hope you have a massive stroke and end your days completely helpless and disabled — with no one in the world who cares about you.
F UCK YOU. You are filth.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:59 pmInteresting question. Which came first – the stupid or the republicans?
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:59 pmEvery time I think I’ve heard some god forsaken idiot make some vaguely coherent, but nonsensical statement that could only come from a Rushpublican, they go and set the bar even lower. Unbelievable.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:59 pmWhy do people keep electing these f***ing idiots?
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:59 pmNo Bristol had an abortion.
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:59 pmshoe (formerly shoeless, sponsored by Nike) says:
No Bristol had an abortion.
So that would have been her third kid, then?
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:59 pmThat might be the worst thing I think I’ve ever heard. Wow. Just wow.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:01 pmI am afraid it would get ugly.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:01 pmWhat’s Bob’s explanation for spontaneous abortions? Does his god cause the woman’s next child to be disabled, just for shits and giggles?
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:02 pmTodd started her out young.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:02 pmMarshall (R) has just branded every mother with a child with disabilities as having had an abortion. His statement also says that any parents who have a child with a disabilityare being punished by God. Marshall’s God must truly be a vengeful, mean-spirited hateful God, then. Repubs have no ethics, no knowledge, no intelligence, no caring, judging by Marshall (R).
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:03 pmA.S.S.B.A.G.
Another Stupid Statement By A Gop.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:04 pmI’d like to hear Bob’s explanation as to why my FIRST pregnancy resulted in a disabled child.
Bob? Hello?
Oh yeah, F UCK YOU, BOB.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:04 pmIs there a secret contest going on inside the garbage GOP to see who can utter the most nauseatingly outrageous and most galactically stupid comment ever made ?
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:05 pmZooey – tell ‘em like it is… you must feel passionate about this issue.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:05 pmDisgusting, ignorant hypocrites . .
But then who’s worse?? The disgusting savages or their uninformed sheep who keep them in the God-business with their money – ‘ All ’cause they think they’re going to heaven!
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:05 pmO.M.G. It’s true. Republicanism IS a disease….an extreme mental one………..Not only are they hypocrites, they are absolutely looney! Time for Virginia to elect someone sane. At least he didn’t say it happens because there are gay people in the world!
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:05 pmLike I pointed out earlier, Marshall is scum. He doesn’t merely want to “protect traditional values”, he wants to control women. It points to some serious issues with women in his life. Or maybe it was something his mommy did to him.
Past gems from Marshall include wanting to ban women from getting an abortion under all circumstances, including rape (because the woman has committed a sin) and incest (’cause sometimes, incest is consentual). Basically, he’s pushing for a Christian version of Sharia law…only without the stoning.
Zealots of any religion seek control. And, throughout history, they’ve attempted to exert their control over women through adultery laws, “traditional values”, and abortion controls. Marshall is a disgrace to Virginia. To Catholics. To the Country.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:06 pm“The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically.”
_______________________________________________________________
I assume you have some hard data to support this, Bob? And do you have any peer-reviewed studies indicating that the number of children with disabilities born to women who have had abortions in the past has “increased dramatically” compared to women who haven’t had abortions?
Or is this just made-up drivel you’ve pulled out of your *ss to support your agenda?
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:06 pmZooey,
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:07 pmAs a future father I second the “F**k you Bob” motion. What a terrible excuse for a man…I dare him to look into the eyes of a mother who has a disabled child and spew his shit. I bet he wouldn’t.
The Republican god is one nasty motherfu(ker. What kind of a sick f uck would take out his revenge on an innocent baby?
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:07 pm“In the Old Testament, the first born of every being, animal and man, was dedicated to the Lord. There’s a special punishment Christians would suggest.”
– – Yes Mr. Marshall, this is commonly know as the Rumplestiltskin Protocol.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:08 pmOnly an assholierthanthou dooshbag like Bob would expect his god to PUNISH a woman with a child, or punish a child by making it disabled.
Shit happens, Bob. Go look in the mirror if you want proof!
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:08 pmAnd, no offense, but the whole “mother of Trig” thing is pretty dumb. Unless you’re doing it ironically as a stab at the Birthers.
Then it’s alright.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:08 pmJust wait…
And we’re trying to get him out of there, but the lunatic fringe of Price William County keeps voting for him (I live in Loudoun County, which is only about 25% of his district).
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:09 pmMy guess is that it is made up drivel that oozed from his dupa hole.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:10 pmAnother example of common sense conservatism.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:10 pmAs my sister has Down’s syndrome and was looked upon as a gift from God, I can’t tell you how repugnant this guy’s statement is.
Not to mention, the disabled have enough problems dealing with the thoughtless words and actions heaped upon them. They certainly don’t need to deal with the @#$% of being perceived as a curse to society.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:10 pmI hope Bob enjoys his time on earth because if he is right about his religion, he is not going to be happy with his room in the next life. I would think even his version of god would take a very dim view of people taking his name in vain.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:11 pmFrom the linked article:
They called on Virginia officials to eliminate state funding for Planned Parenthood because the organization provides abortions.
“We are gathered this afternoon to draw attention to the unethical, immoral and racist practices of the largest abortion provider in America,” said Dean Nelson, executive director of the Network of Politically Active Christians.
_______________________________________________________________
Planned Parenthood is mostly likely the “largest abortion provider in America” because the are the largest organization devoted to family planning and unwanted pregnancies in the country.
What the wingnuts usually forget is that PP is also one of the largest (if not THE largest) preventer of unwanted pregnancies in the first place. If not for PP, unwanted pregnancies would soar, and so would abortions.
I won’t even get into the baseless accusation that PP is racist.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:12 pmDave N. (love your law firm): Prince William County must be full of rich pricks like the district that Michelle Bachmann of Minnesota represents……no county with intellegent, self-respecting people in it would elect someone like her–or Marshall!
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:12 pmActually Luke says the firstborn MALE child, by the laws of MOSES [not christ] that opens the womb shall be called holy to the lord and two turtle doves or two pigeons or a lamb would be sacrificed. Bob doesnt know, as many, his religion.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:12 pmDaveN – Sorry to hear that you live in a county next to dumbf u c kistan, filled with the jesustanis.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:12 pmDing! Ding! Ding!
We have the winner for the stupidest nutball of the decade.
Number one idiot, if a fetus is aborted then it’s not FIRST BORN.
Number two, ahole, what facts do you have about children being born mentally or physically challenged is god way of punishing women.
Number three imbecile, how is healthcare reform taking ones soul? It’s the other way around, the healthcare industry takes people’s lives. Give up your taxpayer cadillac healthcare and redeem your useless soul, nutbag.
Number four prick, you better watch out for mooseyak. You speaking about your god punishing mothers after an abortion, is ripe for mooseyak’s hypocritical tweets.
Also mooseyak and her dysfunctional family is playing native Indian and receiving free of charge SOCIALIZED HEALTHCARE.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:13 pmDamn, as those who have disabled children don’t have enough challenges as it is!
Now they’ll have to face the social stigma of having to tell people that, “And NO, I had NOT had any previous abortions!”.
Those conservatives are SO compassionate.

Congratulations, bizarro. You and your wife will be wonderful parents.
Regarding our Bob — I bet he would say such a thing to the mother of a disabled child. But he wouldn’t say it twice.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:14 pmHmmm…I wonder what Sarah Palin, who no doubt regards her son Trig as a gift from God, thinks about the idea that a disabled child is “punishment”?
Oh, that’s right. She doesn’t think. She only spouts what she’s told.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:14 pmThe rampant ignorance at work here is a wonder to behold. This comes from the mouth of someone that dismisses all science in disgust – yet he claims there is a real medical interaction at work here and it is god’s punishment?
Where’s his back-up for his claim? I’ll bet he pulled that right out of his non-scientific ass.
He should rightly be blasted by both sides for this outrageous and irresponsible comment.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:15 pm*
Why does the Republican god put up with people like this putting words in his mouth? If Marshall said something this awful about Zeus, he’d probably get a lightning bolt up his ass.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:15 pmMapleStreet,
I actually know what that feels like…I was told as a teen by a baptist preacher that I was possessed and that’s what was causing my epilepsy. The way he preached at me was so wrong and it’s scary even to a 14 year old. I left the church that day.
What a bunch of soul-less a**holes the religious right are. Demonizing people with medical disabilities or illnesses. Maybe we should heap scorn upon them for I guess you could say being mentally ill or at least completely heartless.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:15 pmTo the voters in Virginia—Have you no shame?
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:15 pmAre Bob Marshall and the troll jwest the same person?
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:16 pmBTW, what about the fathers, Bob? Or does your god only punish women with children?
Is it okay for a man to knock up every woman in his general vicinity — whether those children are born or not? Is HE punished with a disabled child in that instance?
How does it work, Bob? Help us, we’re struggling out here…
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:16 pmDoesn’t this doofus even realize that when the Bible refers to “dedicating” the first-born that that is a euphemism for “sacrifice”? That’s why some scholars believe there may actually have been sanctioned human sacrifices in early Judaism, since a number of verses talk about dedicating the first born of both one’s sons and livestock.
Don’t Christians ever even study the Bible?

I hope any mother that he talks to…knocks him down a few pegs. What a horrible thing to say about…it’s both misogynistic and cruel to children at the same time.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:17 pmglogrrl in 58 – Prince William County is the worst of both worlds – Rethuglican yuppies and “god, guns, & gays” rednecks. I live in a neighborhood of “rich pricks” (looks around), but we are, at the worst, a swing district.

Wake up America…it’s an all out attack!
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:18 pm” . . . God punishes women who have had abortions by giving them disabled children”
Well, then, Babsy “The Battle-Ax” Bu$h must have done something really, really bad. When it comes to sons, she scored a three-bagger.
And, from the look of the picture accompanying this post, it would seem that Little Bobby Marshall’s mother was no saint, either.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:19 pmI think someone should come up with an award show like the Grammys or the Academy Award. Schedule it mid to late summer, a couple months before elections and have it showcase these azzclowns trying to outstupid each other.
They could call it the Whackys or something.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:19 pm73. Shoe,

Leave the poor child alone. Sarah Palin has given us more than enough ammo against her that we don’t need to drag him into it.

February 22nd, 2010 at 2:24 pmAbortion rights have been under attack without any letup since the initial SCOTUS ruling. There have been a multitude of laws and challenges by the states, most of which have failed. These frivolous laws and challenges should be punished with court sanctions. Until then, the federal courts will devote a lot of time that is wasted to these lawsuits. When the states have to pay all court costs and attorneys fees for these lawsuits, they will be more careful about the laws and challenges.

He is absolutely, certifiably, 100%, bat shit, mega-christian Nazi, insane. The problem is, his district is Gerrymandered and includes a heavily evangelical, rich area. also, those that run against him are utter lightweights.
I know I state the obvious, but he 100% believes what he says. he is a VERY dangerous man.

February 22nd, 2010 at 2:27 pmDamn! You mean to tell me that all of the parents of Jerry’s kids all had abortions!
I wonder how God punishes those who are against providing food or shelter for the poor or health care for the children, for your fellow man, for the sick and for the elderly?
I wonder how God punishes those who put money over the needs of those less fortunate?
I wonder how God punishes those who blatantly lie?
I wonder how God punishes those who twist verses in the Bible to deceive Gods children and to further their own evil agenda?

Maybe not acid but maybe shrooms. Is there any peyote in the middle east? Though it could be possible that John channeled Albert Hofmann…hell Moses wrote about his death after his death. If the writers of the bible weren’t tripping on something then they were probably mentally disturbed in one way or another.
We need a stimulus bill that will fund research to find the gene that turns a normally developing baby into a goddamn fundamentalist prick like Marshall and his ilk. And then make it a mandatory abortion for he sake of society.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:28 pmHere’s a sample of the letter I just sent this jerk-off:
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:29 pmtruly hope there is some reason other than appealing to a mind-numbingly uninformed voting base for you to be making such obscene comments. I very much doubt this is what Christ had in mind as far as his teachings go. If you actually believe this venom tripe you’re spouting, then as a good christian I hope you rot in the seventh sphere of hell you judgmental bastard.
Palin was prayed over by a mysterious Kenyan. She then ascended to heights of power despite being devoid of qualifications.
I think it’s just common sense that she has sold her soul to the Father of Lies. No one can lie as much as she does without supernatural aide. It’s just common sense I tell you.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:29 pm77. Soapbox,
You mean that WASN’T satire? Holy hell. Utah is worse off than I thought. I’m surprised they aren’t pushing Chris Buttars for the governor’s mansion.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:29 pmHey dipshit Bob, let God do what he has to do. Your job is with the US Government. You remember the US Government right Bob? The one that enjoys a clear separation between church and state. The same US Government that catagorizes abortion as completely LEGAL. Last time I checked our laws are not dictated by the bible. Maybe you should move to one of those countries that governs through strict interpretation of the Bible like your zealot brethren in al queda.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:29 pmI guess they have at least one thing right. The Devil can quote Scripture.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:30 pmThis is all coordinated by the Republican party. This clown is merely a sacrificial lamb. So Palin can look tough by ripping into a fellow Republican.
They’re hoping we’ll forget about her being a total hypocrite when it came to Limbo’s comments.

That and most likely our religious leaders are all apart of the counterfeit Christianity. Like Hagee, Robertson, Falwell, Haggard, Osteen, Graham, Van Impe, Murdoch, Swaggart…

I’m beginning to think that “Christians” is a special punishment in and of itself that has been inflicted on all of us. Why? You might as well ask why there’s air or something. The answer is so complex as to be almost inexplicable.
Oh, well, in that regard, given the simple-mindedness of certain Christians, such as Mr. Marshall, maybe it isn’t terribly complex. It’s just more ignorant blathermouth from a dingbat. Unfortunately, since idiot politicians of Marshall’s sort are out there trying to develop a following, they can’t be ignored.
I wonder whether he thought that trash up on his own or if he’s quoting or paraphrasing some other nitwit?
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:33 pmWell, he doesn’t have to worry about “Obamacare” taking his soul, because he doesn’t have one.

Marshall’s another bootblack boy in Jesus’s Army of God,that doesn’t have the sense enough to pour “piss out of a boot” even with the directions written on the bottom of the boot!

Maybe Bob Marshall is a parody Republican. If so, not funny either.
February 22nd, 2010 at 2:59 pmKind of on topic. But a State or Federally funded company in my County provides jobs for the mentally or physically handicap.
This all sounds like an admirable, Christian thing to do until you realize that the owner probably only pays the disabled workers $2.00 an hour and than charges which ever company the workers are making the parts or packaging for, $8.00 per piece, making a $6.00 profit for every part or piece packaged or assembled.
So this company is paying slave wages, making a nice little profit, while getting State or Federal funds and the righties will probably say what a wonderful thing this man is doing for the physically or mentally handicapped people.
Than if the State were to tell this business owner that he must pay at least minimum wage the guy can retaliate by threatening to close down his business and forcing these people into State welfare programs, so the State just allows the slave wages to continue to be paid. I believe this is called exploitation of the handicapped.

February 22nd, 2010 at 3:08 pmTom Harkin (a democrat from Iowa) brought a similar issue in front of the senate back in 2009. Link.
There’’s a tremendous amount of evidence to support the argument that children are simply tools to be manipulated and used by religious zealots in the pursuit of their own sick political agendas.
Every child is an empty vessel, ‘given by God’, to be molded into the zealots own image—home schooled, taught to hate the ‘other’. Because all children are ‘gifts from God’ according to zealots screed, all children are the zealots rightful property because they are God’’s property for God’s zealots to use as they see fit.
They have large families if they can, to maintain and expand their ranks.
Their missionary work always focuses on children, so that they can be indoctrinated and their adoption enterprises concentrate on the most vulnerable and impoverished children—the Haitian adventure being the latest example—whereby with minimal material improvements to their sorry lives the children can be inculcated in the zealots worldview and recruited.
The schools they set up in poor foreign countries aren’t designed to provide practical rational education, but to proselytize and propagandize. The object is not for the children to become self-sufficient, but to be reliant on the ultimate ‘authority’ and sanction of ‘God’, in lieu of which they are obliged to submit to these self-appointed representatives of ‘God’.
They don’t give a shit about childrens’ individual and unique potential. Because they don’t subscribe to logic, inquiry, empirical evidence to describe and function in the real world, they lack the ability to persuade others by reason to accept their world-view, so they have to resort to emotional blackmail, fear and mystery to validate themselves and to maintain and justify themselves they therefore need to manipulate children to create future generations of their deluded kind.

I agree but, sadly, it seems like most decent American Christians refuse to own their monsters. What one will see is a bunch of people claiming “he’s not a real Christian” or “As a Christian I don’t share his viewpoint”. What one will not see is decent Christians saying, “we are to blame for the monsters in our ranks and we have to work within our churches to counter the vileness that keeps oozing out from the dark side of Christianity”.

Dog, I always get sooo pissed off when I hear “Christians” on tv who twist the Bible to fit their own agenda. Oh, don’t be so squeamish, they were sacrificed, on an altar. Does saying that make you a nut? Obviously.
Like Isaac, who was almost sacrificed by his dad Abraham, so ‘ol Abe could prove to the Big Guy Upstairs how “strong” his faith was. I’m so glad the Big Man Upstairs accepted the ram instead, though; it makes for a better story.

Kind of on topic.
Even though this is barely on-topic, I had to reply. There are lots of these types of places, referred to as “sheltered workshops,” that employ people with disabilities.
Odds are, those who are employed at such places very likely are recipients of SSI/SSD or SSI + SSD benefits. Any money they make past a certain amount per month (I don’t remember how much it is nowadays), and their benefits get cut $1 for every $1 they make. That is the reason sheltered workshops pay the rates they do: so those folks can work, be productive, and earn a little bit of money on top of their (let’s face it, not luxurious) benefits.
February 22nd, 2010 at 5:57 pmi have a good question.
“where is the time machine he got outa, and since when did the neolithic cave men learn time travel?”
the funny part, he is part of government, law maker, US of A, shakes head. Guess if Jesus came down they would imprision him for being crazy and talking to god. Will go kinda like the jon of arc story, thank you for saving us, now burn at the stake for your sins.

Yes! Let’s legislate biology! Do these idiots even know that 25-33% of all pregnancies end in a miscarriage? Genetic defects, malformation, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia.
This is a medieval mindset. Anything bad that ever happens is because somebody sinned. A thousand years ago, when a two-headed calf was born, these were the guys who went looking for a couple of Jews to hang or a few witches to burn.

What in the hell does Martin Luther King have to do with anything , especially this thread ?
BTW
He’s also deceased in case you hadn’t noticed (and judging by your colossal stupidity , you probably haven’t) …..
I don’t give a damn who believes that the Bible , an amusing book of fairy tale stories and anectdotes , is “true” ; there is absolutely ZERO scientific fact to support that .
So , go push your rube-like religious beliefs onto others , dipwad ; I’m simply not interested………

February 22nd, 2010 at 6:24 pmmy two children both have disabilities and I have never had an abortion to suggest that my children are marred in some way by the creator for something I may have done is pure evil, and to suggest even for a second that the creator may be so spiteful and vengeful as to harm an innocent life as a punishment is completely Ludicrous.
I would absolutely love this man to come to Britain and try spouting his sheer drivel because nobody here would wipe the verbal diarrhoea from his fat chin…but rather punch him square in it!

At least I think that’s how it goes….

February 22nd, 2010 at 6:29 pmLol! Trust me, you’re definately not the only person who thinks this way!!
So this bozo hasn’t sinned in God’s eyes…ever? Before he starts throwing around the disability card, he might want to get himself checked both in the brain and genital region.
I don’t want this guy making more of himself. That’s unwanted punishment to women and kid(s)-to-be.

Hey, kiddies! This is my first time commenting but I just have to do so. First: Does he have any statistics to back up his claim? Of course not. Like so many other right wingers, he’s just making it up. He is nothing more than another gigantic male chauvinist pig using scare tactics in his desperate attempt to exercise control over women. No thinking person should pay any attention to this crap.
February 22nd, 2010 at 7:05 pmSo God would punish the KIDS of women who have had an abortion? Does that sound like a caring, compassionate, loving God to you? Im glad that I am a Christian and I don’t worship the same God as this sad, sad loser.
February 22nd, 2010 at 7:32 pmI often heard southern conservatives say AIDS was God’s punishment for breaking his laws.

Oh that is definitely what they meant when they said it!
February 22nd, 2010 at 7:51 pmSo God would punish the KIDS of women who have had an abortion?
You’re goddamn right He would. Since when has Our Father That Art in Heaven given half a sh*t about the kids? Read your bible!
One of my favorite bedtime stories is the tale of Jephte from Judges 11. Jephte makes a vow before God:
Well, of course the first person to come out of the house when Jephte comes home is his innocent little girl. Because Jephte is a Godly man of his word, he follows through with the “holocaust” and roasts the child over an open grill after sending her away for two months to think about what she’d done. God must have immensely enjoyed the crying, the tears, and ultimately the aroma of rendered human fat and smoking bone clinkers because He didn’t smite Jephte on the spot.
Read your bible and Get On Your Knees for JEEEAAAAZUS, uhm hum!

February 22nd, 2010 at 8:41 pmThanks, Zooey! I felt compelled to comment because I have a problem with holier-than-thou men who think they know all about God. Who is Trigg’s real daddie?
February 22nd, 2010 at 8:53 pmAh, gee! On “Countdown”, Bob lost WPITW to Glen Beck! What a shame!
February 22nd, 2010 at 8:54 pmNormal human beings would be choking on the filth these LIARS are required to spew every moment of their tiresome days. Do they not get tired of the endless fabrications and brain rewiring required to be a member of the GOP cult? Do they ever stop in the middle of something and wonder if they are lying or telling the truth. Or wonder if the spinning will ever end before their brains, or US are just a steaming pool of what my dad used to tell us to not step in–calf sh*t.
February 22nd, 2010 at 9:27 pmI look at that smug face and wonder how he ended up on this end of the food chain, when he so obviously, considering his blatherings, should be swarming with the rest of his “school” into the mouth of the nearest open mouthed hungry link on the chain.
February 22nd, 2010 at 9:35 pmI checked in with God and he told me Marshall’s definitely going to Hell. He also implied that if Marshall’s mom had aborted him and saved us the trouble of having to share the Earth with that moron (God’s term for him, not mine), He would have been just fine with that.

February 22nd, 2010 at 10:51 pmThis dim wit truly belongs on permanent loon-watch. It’s frightening enough to acknowledge that there are folks that actually believe this and try teaching it at every turn but this is over the line of rational behavior even in a badly damaged mind. But a public servant?? Time for a serious reset in this state.
Couple this with the new executive order done today by the recently (VERY recently) elected brain-dead new governor of Virginny that makes it legal in that state for EVERY state employee to be completely discriminated against based on sexual preference… So if you’re gay (or someone even THINKS you may be, in another lifetime or on another time plane) in Virginny – YOU’RE SCREWED… You can be fired on the spot..no questions asked…
You guys have fun out there……

In short you are an ignorant turd now go pick up a frightening thing called a book and read about people that did something positive with their lives unlike you.
February 23rd, 2010 at 12:48 am@ 126. Insidious Prophet says: The current religion of Christianity has been bastardized. … The day of the Sabbath was changed, even the name Christ was taken from Chrisna (Krishna) of the Hindu faith. February 22nd, 2010 at 2:41 pm
True, that Christianity is “bastardized”; the term of art is syncretic, that is, it has accreted, accumulated bits and pieces of other religions as it has spread through different cultures and around the world; it’s also changed as its practioners have introduced new, and not necessarily improved, ideas.
Christ, however, is neither synonymous nor a cognate of Krishna. Christ is the English rendering (bastardization) of the Greek Khristos, which means the same thing as the Hebrew Messiah, i.e., “the annointed” or “the annointed one”. The jury is out, so to speak, on the similarity of Krishna to Khristos; it may be coincidence, or they may share a root in the Indo-European that gave rise to Greek and Sanskrit.

There is a special place in Hell for this disgusting piece of $hit!
How can anybody in their right mind make such a remark?!
Unbelievable!
February 23rd, 2010 at 9:55 amYou guys have got to be kidding me! Just because he is a Republican doesn’t mean that all Republicans think like this retarded neanderthal. God isn’t punishing you for anything, EVER. If he had read the Bible a little farther than just to find what he wanted to use to further his political career, he may have noticed the NEW testament. You know, that book that says blessed are the children, and preaches about how unconditional love is given to us from God through Jesus. I missed the section of the Bible where he said, “You shall not abort any children ever no matter what the circumstances are behind the child being conceived. Even if you are raped by some psychotic crackhead killer scum of the earth. And I shall rain my vengeance down upon thee by giving thee children who are handicapped. MWUHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, and love thy neighbor.”

I don’t know the God this guy slings around to justify his offensive and evil rantings. I think this guy should be institutionalized.

I have read the other posts here and I can say I am no Palin fan. I do however think that we should not drag her children or grandchild(ren) into this. They have nothing to do with this ignorant biggoted statement. To drag her children into this forum reduces us to the level of those we are here to rail against. I hope no one takes offense by my opinion, it is exactly that…”my opinion”. I just think that it’s heinous to attack anyones child or make unkind remarks. I believe Evil Bob has spouted enough of that in his disturbing and disgusting and offensive remarks.
