It’s bad enough Wal-Mart approved and funded this hysterical ad featuring a Holocaust Museum photo of a Nazi book-burning to fight an “anti-big box” measure in Flagstaff, Arizona.
But here’s one additional irony: these book-burnings were one way the Nazis used censorship to supposedly cleanse the country of “un-German” thoughts.
And, well, who doesn’t remember this delightful memory:
If you’re looking to buy a copy of Robert Greenwald’s superb documentary, “Uncovered: The Whole Truth About the Iraq War,” don’t go to your local Wal-Mart. Anderson Merchandising, the company that picks the movies that are sold in the retail chain, has told the distributor of the movie that the film is inappropriate for Wal-Mart.
Or this one…
Retail giant Wal-Mart has banned America (The Book), a fake textbook written by Jon Stewart, the host of The Daily Show, from its stores.
