Tuesday drum blogging! I’ve never been a percussionist — that odd species of rock drummer that decides to ignorantly thwack on a bongo so he can change his album credit to “drums/percussion.” But this guy Moshe Yankovsky is making me reconsider. Here’s a clip of him on a djembe drum. Note his finger work. With drumsticks, you want to get your attack primarily from your wrists, with your finger muscles as a supplemental. I guess with a djembe it’s different. Live and learn. Anyway, this guy’s good.
