Dick Durbin (D-IL): “I beg my colleagues … let’s work together.”

This bill is about reducing carbon pollution that causes global warming.

It makes use of market mechanisms that we have used successfully before

Delay will require future greater sacrifices or possibly make it impossible to solve the problem on all.

This bill will take us to a new attitude and a new approach — in a positive way — to keep the cost of energy within the grasp of consumers and farmers.


When we start thinking in terms of fuel efficiency and harness the entrepreneurial spirit that made America great, we can lead again.

Global warming is going to create an environment where many people will suffer.

“I beg my colleagues … let’s work together.”

We need to say future generations we can come together, both parties.

Says nice things about Warner’s bipartisanship, which a great many people (on the majority side) have spoken to.

WARNER — Defends the minority against claims they are “slow walking this bill,” saying that 18+ senators want to speak, that we are having good debates (which Boxer agreed with).

    Dick has got to stop begging.
    Luckily Obama hasn’t inherited this emasculating habit from his Senior Senator.
