McCain double-talk express: Reid chose “to put politics above policy”

doubletalk.jpgMcCain’s statement on Lieberman-Warner said:

… it appears that for now, the Senate, at the direction of the Majority Leader, will choose to put politics above policy, and Congress will fail to act yet again on this critical issue.

You cannot be serious! The people who put politics above policy were McCain’s fellow conservatives, who

  • Forced 30 hours of pointless debate
  • Forced a 9-hour reading of the bill
  • Demagogued the gasoline and energy price issue over and over again
  • Denied the reality of climate science
  • Voted to block the bill from moving forward

That’s why Congress failed to act. And, of course, Bush said he would veto the bill any way. Where or where did the straight talk express derail?

Call it the straight double-talk express!

They might as well just go home and stay home until next year. Nothing gets done, Democrat or Republican, including your precious judges.

How much was spent on this? What happened to the $100 million ad buy on the environment?

Saw an intereting comment on the need to link “climate security” and “energy security” but I’m not sure Americans are really ready for “energy security” yet. After all, $4 gas is going to do more for climate change than politics.

  4. WeatherDem says:

If McCain cared so much about the policy and if he was the leader he’s trying to convince America he is, wouldn’t this bill have made it? Isn’t he the Republican nominee for President? No leadership, no solutions. Just negative talking points.
