We were changing the header, as you can see, and something went awry.
Please let me know if the new header works on your browser. It works for me on Internet Explorer but not Firefox.
I will make this up by posting a few more times today.

In google chrome the Tom Friedman quote box extends beyond the boundary of the main page box
Fixes will probably not come until Friday afternoon when traffic is low.
Friedman quote steps on first post title in AOL9.0 (same as in Firefox).
Firefox 3.07 works fine.
My older Firefox doesn’t work fine.
With FF 3.0.7 I get an overlapping tagline and header. ‘“the indispensable blog” — Tom Friedman, New York Times’ overlaps ‘Apologies for site going down’. Also, the font size of the tagline is smaller than usual.
With IE6 it displays correctly.
Looks fine in google chrome now.
