And a shout out to Toles for his shout out to Dust-Bowlification (see “NOAA stunner: SW faces permanent Dust Bowls” and “Climate change drives SW Dust Bowl sooner than expected“).

Yesterday’s LA Times had a nice long article on the current dust-driven melt in the U.S. Southwest.
Dust melt. On our ranches, blowing sun gathers up dust and when it melts, the dust makes the ice look dirty. It is not a dust driven melt. It can be a correlatioon but not a causal relationship. LATimes is not a snow region.
This article is a stretch. They didn’t for some reaon report temperatures. We often see snow melting when the thermometer reaches 25 degrees. These city slickers need to get some fresh air and get out in the country.
Thanks for the LA Times article.
But really, that reporter, or whomever the source was, blaming mountain bikers?!
WTF?
