This is a prime example of the short comings of the media folks at the WH. I have not seen a single reference of this talk anywhere else. This is the first reference that I have seen. Thank you yet again for all you do Joe but also a thank you for all the commentators out there that do such a fine job of feed back, information sources, and general thought provoking comments. Best wishes all.

[JR: In fairness, the speech hasn't happened yet. The media doesn't do big stories on mere announced speeches.]

  2. Hi Joe,

have you seen this 4°C map of climate impact by Met Ofice (published by guardian):

    best,

Anyone got a link to the recording of this?

I picked up the live stream from MIT, then checked my cable to see who carried the speech live: MSNBC and CNN. When it ended, CNN gave a few seconds of recap and then cut away to other news; MSNBC actually talked about the speech for maybe a minute or so.

My favorite part was when Pres. Obama came to the question of people who still say there’s no problem, particularly regarding climate change. He said they are now “being marginalized.” He hesistated a bit as he started this section – it was almost as if he was looking for a diplomatic way to refer to the deniers and delayers (though I’m sure the wording of the speech had been hammered out carefully in advance…)

Thanks, Gail, but it looks like that feed has been shut down. Can’t find it anywhere else. :/

Strike that. The video works now. Thanks, Gail!
