Toles on fossil-fuel abstinence programs

One way or another, fossil fuel abstinence is coming — see “Is the global economy a Ponzi scheme?” — and that is no joke.

Powerful metaphoric post: “Is the global economy a Ponzi scheme?”, and agree with everygthing except: “We created a way of raising standards of living that we can’t possibly pass on to our children,”

Never considered SUVs, McMansions, 50-inch flat screens, endless global travel to the same hotel room, etc., as a high standard of living or one to emulate and pass on; just profligate and aimless; where ongoing and emerging difficult situations will foster a much higher quality of life-style reality-based-by-necessity, with focus, human and nature-centric, being reasonable, even romantic.

Toles is a genius — equating fossil fuel consumption with promiscuous sex.

Joe, how about using the term “promiscuous consumption of fossil fuels” ?

I see no problem in not using fossil resources. instead of using plants which died some million years ago, we have plenty of similar resources like the garbidge of our food production.
