Climate Progress

Must-see ‘Lost Generation’ video

It might be better titled, “A tale of two generations.”  It is palindromic — so be sure to watch it until the end:

Yes, it’s not new — it has nearly 15 million views.  But it’s still poignant.

It’d be very interesting to do something like this just for climate and clean energy. If someone put such a video together, I’d be delighted to run it.

Plastic Spoons Make Christmas Tree, Environmental Statement
Students in Taiwan have made a Christmas tree constructed entirely from thousands of plastic spoons. 80,000 utensils went into the the crafting faux-fir, as part of an artistic commentary on consumption. http://www.newslook.com/videos/276199-plastic-spoons-make-christmas-tree-environmental-statement?autoplay=true

I like that a lot. Combined with this video of Chris Hedges before he got arrested in front of the White House last Thursday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KP8YcfdHIN4

Season’s Greetings to all here. Thanks, Joe, for doing such a first rate job. You give me hope!

What a useless video since it isn’t captioned. So I have no idea what is being said at the end when the words are scrolling backwards.

For our website about climate knowledge (Changemagazine.nl, dutch site), I created an English video like this, with a message about climate change:

Entitled: “We cannot fight climate change…?” – I hope you like it!

I believe that engaging in the transition that is upon us can bring about a second Renaissance. (The first brought the western culture out of the Dark Ages). Look how far we have come fighting nature, allowing it to be destroyed. Truly learning to work within the natural systems will unleash a future that is unimaginable, positive and full of wonder.

As humans, we fear the unknown. We fear change.

Renaissance or destruction, the choice is ours.

    Ok, thanks matt!
