Monday deadline to apply for course run by Media Matters

Media Matters will host its next media training event for environmental experts May 4-7th in Washington, DC. The deadline for applications is Monday March 21st. You can get more details and the apply online here.

Here’s the short version:

The highly successful Progressive Talent Initiative [PTI] program is aimed at sharpening the media skills of experts in a variety of environmental issues from climate change and environmental policy to alternative energy and green business. Experts from a broad array of environmental subject areas are strongly encouraged to apply. PTI takes a hands-on approach as participants will spend time on camera practicing the skills they are taught including messaging, technique, tactics, style, and handling hot button environmental issues.

Previous TV appearances are not a requirement but participants should be able to speak intelligently on current issues and have a strong on-camera presence.

All costs for the training including materials and meals during the training plus all travel and hotel costs for participants coming from outside of the DC area will be paid for by Media Matters.
