I especially liked the second to last one. I’d like to know, what avenues do CP readers use to make a real difference? Primarily donations, time devoted for volunteering, or is it your job? (any Greenpeace, RAN?) It seems to me that only drastic action can have any real benefit and I always have trouble getting involved outside my personal consumption habits.
That “four seasons in one day” card is upsettingly accurate. This year I’ve noticed that more than ever before, as has everybody else I know, whether or not they’re also climate science hooligans. It’s 50 degrees one day and 85 degrees the next and then it’s 50 again. Everybody thinks it’s “so weird” and “freaky” and I couldn’t agree more.
Have there been any studies on that specific effect? How warmer average temperatures can lead to such unstable everyday temperatures? Perhaps some future posts on the subject?
Edited by Joe Romm, we cover climate science, solutions and politics. Columnist Tom Friedman calls us "the indispensable blog" and Time magazine named us one of the 25 "Best Blogs of 2010." Newcomers, start here.
Joe Romm has pulled together the secrets of the greatest communicators in history to show how you can apply these tools to your writing, speaking, blogging — even your Tweeting.

Regarding the last card. Wish all we like. When that polar bear looks at us all he sees is lunch.
