An investigation by the Kansas City Star’s Karen Dillon reveals that the Kansas Department of Health and Environment allowed Sunflower Electric Power Corp. officials “to respond to questions from the public and then passed some of the answers off as their own” with respect to the permitting process for the Sunflower coal-fired power plant, in a “horrific transgression in terms of public trust.”
