Good that you’re getting the exposure. Maybe you should try to slip in a word on the pending step-up in tar sands production. At least the most safely developed natural gas deposits could be a more acceptable supplement to our transit fuel demand. That is, assuming there’d be enough excess production capacity.

  2. Andy Hultgren says:

Great news! Yes, please do try to put in a good word for the tar sands protests going on at the White House. I believe they use fracked natural gas to produce the tar sands.

I’m a big fan of the Diane Rehm Show – have fun on there Joe!!

Go get em, Joe, you have a really important message here.

Revkin was again touting the gas “bridge fuel” line on his blog last week- he and I got into a little tussle. Andy has destroyed his remaining credibility based on this issue alone. The facts are obvious, as you pointed out in your June CP post.

Joe, thanks for taking the effort to sit on the DR Show panel. RE: the plaintive cry “You gotta balance jobs against [everything else],” what happens to jobs in the area where the local groundwater supplies are contaminated? Flash-in-the-pan jobs for drilling vs. the real threat of local economy destruction from water contamination–that doesn’t sound like a good argument against regulation to me. ‘Ground regulation on sound science’–sound science is impossible without knowing what compounds/chemicals are involved. Finally, it appears that everyone who discusses this sort of topic in public must have at hand a cogent response to the red herring “looky what happened with the hubbub over the vaccine-autism link” statements. That BS seems to trip up the industry-leaning layman often, and it’s…garbage.

Skytruth has embarked on an interesting Fracking Project in the Marcellus.
