ABC’s Bill Blakemore has a 5-part interview of the most vindicated climate scientist in America, Michael Mann. All 5 videos are posted below with links to their transcripts.

Mann discusses climate science and the ongoing “efforts to intimidate climate scientists and create confusion about their findings.” Mann is author of a terrific new book, The Hockey Stick and the Climate Wars: Dispatches From the Front Lines.

Science writer Chris Mooney put it well in his review of the book, “A Decade Ago, Conservatives Attacked a Scientist—And Created a Leader.”

Here are the videos:

Ironic that the adds ABC chose to sponsor these interviews are for BP. I also note that in these ads BP taking credit for the generosity of all those who visited the Gulf in an effort to support the region after the calamitous BP spill…

In the bp ad, they claim that they set all kinds of records along the gulf coast last summer. This is true, and BP deserves much credit. Last summer several gulf coast states had their hottest and driest summer ever, and i believe it was the most expensive drought texas ever had (btw, there is now flooding in east texas). Let’s thank BP for making hell even hotter!

Excellent reporting and terrific work by Dr. Mann. (I agree it is a little shocking that we no longer get any news without misleading advertisements from our top climate criminals.)

  3. Susan Anderson says:

What a wonderful tenacious reporter Bill Blakemore is. We need more like him.

  4. So when will the FBI/Justice department shutting down WUWT (for organizing the witch hunt, conspiring against government workers and on top threaten national security). Followed by an investigation into the organization, where the money comes from etc etc

    • Lauren Unruh says:

Yeah, that is what I was wondering. I have damages. I don’t think that kind of intimidation is legal. I think it is a conspiracy to commit torture. I think it needs to be seriously investigated as a criminal conspiracy and for treason.

I’d also like to know what branches of the government knew about it and covered it up. What did they know and when did they know it? It looks to me like there is an overly cosy group in charge and they are doing a really bad job of it. They need to be fired and replaced.

I make sure to click on the bp adds, let them pay a fee to this website, although the ads are in insult to the viewer’s intellegence and annoying.

The persecution of scientists in today’s capitalist america seems very similar to the persecution of religious and political dissidents in the former communist russia. In the end, the truth wins out, the soviet union collapsed, and we are now seeing capitalism collapse in america. Fortunately, we still have greater freedoms in america than they had in the former soviet union, hopefully we will use these freedoms effectively and support our scientific dissidents, and save our country and planet.
