While the increase extreme weather has boosted Americans’ attention to climate issues, it still hasn’t spurred much alarm or concrete political action. Last week, after the underwhelming reaction to record melting of Arctic sea ice, George Monbiot of the Guardian labeled it as “the day the world went mad.”
Well, what if your local weatherwoman went mad sane and told it like it is? The mock video below shows how that might play out:

We await Joe Bastardi’s riposte with interest.
That was great, Stephen, thanks. Any chance it will get on Comedy Central? Maybe Stewart will run it.
We’ll have to tweet it at them!
Pass the Youtube link along to your friends with little attention span for this sort of thing. While a bit over the top, it’s a good way to give people a quick update of what’s going on.
Sounds a bit optimistic to me; didn’t even mention “tipping point.”
That was great. Hope a bit of humor tagged to a very serious subject will work on the bubble of denial. Definitely shared.
Beautiful sketch. She’s mad as hell and she’s not going to take it any more. (Or should I say “mad AT hell — and high water.)
Definitely a weatherwoman, not a weathergirl.
Hit me like a ton of bricks. I’ll spread.
More like this!
That is brilliant – it’s going on my blog.
WOW! This is great! ‘will share on my FB…
Yeh – she’s nuts. Not a grain of truth in any of that forecast considering the empirical data (NOT the parroted alarmist type).
We know that other planets’ climates are driven by Solar insolation, but somehow we’ve been told that Earth’s, not so much. Crikey!
I wish the Arctic was ice free, it would lead to greater international trade. Albedo? Not necessary. You can freeze to death in a desert on a clear night. CO2′s not keeping anything warm, except the politically driven “scientific” community’s climate slush funding.
Right now there are 2 Manhattan’s worth of ice per polar bear in the Arctic. More than enough, considering the forecaster’s Arctic map doesn’t show up smaller ice floes covering what appears to be empty ocean.
Ice doesn’t melt at -30C, no matter what the Goreacle espouses.
