It was always my understanding Republicans stood for a strict constructionist view of the Constitution. With continuing revelation after stunning revelation involving this administration's trampling of our Constitution, you have to wonder how it isn't the Republicans who would would spearhead a removal of this entire cabal from top to bottom, even if it meant their arch enemy the Speaker would assume office. Heheheh ... I'm not that foolish to know they'd go that far. But you get the point. There ARE good Republicans, evidence Mr. Comey's testimony. But why oh why can't they take the lead on this to complete this to a natural and just conclusion; the impeachment and removal from office of the president, vice president, and without any question - Bertito-Gonzo Gonzales. There is a time when politics must be laid aside to protect and defend our nation. The Republicans MUST take the lead on this or see their party doomed. Ashcroft had shown that he was not that, and so Bush wanted and got Gonzales instead, whom Bush knew would do anything at all that Bush wanted him to do. With or without the current US Attorney scandal, this story evidences a moral compass so damaged that it alone should oblige the Attorney General to resign or be fired.
