Barney Frank: Lack Of Funding Is Hurting Financial Regulators ‘Enormously’ | As part of their campaign to undermine the Dodd-Frank financial reform law, House Republicans have refused to give the federal financial regulators — particularly the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission — the funding necessary to implement it. In an interview with ThinkProgress, Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) said this lack of funds is hurting the regulators “enormously.” “They can’t do the new duties.
