Economy Added 120,000 Jobs Last Month, Unemployment Rate Falls Slightly

According to the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the economy added 120,000 jobs in March, well below expectations, while the unemployment rate fell slightly to 8.2 percent. The private sector added 121,000 jobs while the public sector saw a moderate drop. The total for January was revised downward by 9,000, while February was revised upward by 13,000. The broader U-6 measure of underemployment dropped slightly to 14.5 percent.
