Initial Jobless Claims Fall To 350,000, Lowest Level Since March 2008 | According to the Labor Department, initial jobless claims fell to 350,000 this week, well below economists’ expectations. This is the fewest claims since March 2008, Bloomberg News reported. The drop was likely caused by the fact that auto companies are keeping more factories than normal open for this time of year.
