CHART: The Great Recession Destroyed 91 Percent Of Wealth In High-Poverty Neighborhoods

In a new report, the Pew Economic Mobility Project details just how hard the Great Recession hit families living in high-poverty neighborhoods. “While families in high-poverty neighborhoods lost less wealth in absolute terms, their wealth losses reflect a 91 percent decline in their overall wealth. For families in low-poverty neighborhoods, their wealth losses reflect a 47 percent decline,” the report shows.
