Congresswoman Breaks Into Song: ‘Hit The Road Scott, And Don’t You Come Back No More!’

Rep. Gwen Moore (D-WI) broke into song this morning at a rally in Milwaukee for Democrat Tom Barrett, who is challenging Gov. Scott Walker (R) in Wisconsin’s upcoming recall election. The three-term congresswoman read a poem condemning Walker’s cuts to state health care programs and repeal of pay equity, before slightly altering the words to Ray Charles’ 1961 hit ‘Hit The Road Jack.’ “Hit the road Scott and don’t you come back no more, no more,” she called out, urging the assembled crowd to join in a sing-along. Barrett’s supporters echoed back: “Hit the road Scott, and don’t you come back no more!” Watch it:
