New Hampshire’s Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Breaks With Romney Over 47%

Ovide Lamontagne, the Republican candidate for governor in New Hampshire, broke with his party’s presidential candidate’s comments about the 47 percent of Americans who don’t pay taxes. During a forum with Democrat Maggie Hassan on Wednesday morning, Lamontagne said, “There’s no 47 percent in New Hampshire as far as I’m concerned” and added that he wants to be governor of all residents in the state. At least three other prominent Republicans have spoken out against Romney’s remarks.
