A student named Jonathan Freese called into CNN and explained that he had been in lockdown in his classroom for about a half hour. He said the incident took place earlier in the morning and that several people were hurt, although he did not witness the event. He ended the call when he was being escorted out of the classroom by police.

Some students are also tweeting out information from the school, but details are limited.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated as more information becomes available.

UPDATE: In a statement to the press, the sheriff’s office confirmed that the shooter was a male student and that he fired a handgun at a female student and male student in a school hallway. The female student is in critical condition and the male student is in stable condition. A school resource officer (SRO) fired back at the shooter, who is confirmed deceased, but it’s unconfirmed if the SRO’s shot was the cause. None of the individuals have been publicly engaged. More details will be provided at a press conference at 1 PM.
