On Friday, Gov. Peter Shumlin (D-VT) joined Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman (R) and former Vice President Al Gore in opposing the Keystone XL pipeline, which would carry tar sands oil from Canada across the U.S. to the Gulf Coast. “I oppose the proposed Keystone XL tar sands oil pipeline project,” Shumlin said in a letter to 350 Vermont. “We need to find sources that will mitigate the impacts of climate change as much as possible for Vermont and the United States.” You can read the full letter here.
