Study: High Deductible Health Care Plans Don’t Save Money | Yet another study has tested the GOP’s argument that we can reduce health care spending by giving people more “skin in the game” and giving everyone the option of a high deductible health care plan. Turns out that doesn’t actually save any money. “Overall, introduction of HDHP had no impact on health-care costs, positive impact on the number of outpatient visits and mixed impacts on the inpatient and emergency room visit counts.” [HT: Austin Frakt]
