Obama: Rich Have To Pay Higher Taxes To Help Sustain Medicare | President Obama explained how the Affordable Care Act will make health care more efficient, during a LinkedIn town hall in Mountain View, California today, but stressed that the rich have to pay more in taxes to keep the program sustainable. “If people like myself aren’t paying a little more in taxes, then the only way you balance the budget is on the backs of folks like your mom who end up paying a lot more in Medicare and they can’t afford it,” he said, referring to the GOP’s alternative plan to voucherize the program and shift more costs to beneficiaries.
