Florida Anti-Abortion Bill Faces Uncertainty In Senate After House Passage | The Florida House passed a sweeping anti-abortion bill on Thursday that, among other unnecessary provisions, would require women seeking an abortion to wait 24 hours, for new abortion clinics to be owned by physicians — targeting Planned Parenthood — and for physicians to describe the steps of an abortion that could be painful to a fetus 20 weeks. Senate President Mike Haridopolos was noncommittal about advancing the measure in the Senate. “If I believe we have the time to dedicate to that issue, I’m willing to take a look at it,” he told reporters.
