Congressional Republicans continue to fight over the best way to derail Obamacare, as Tea Party members are currently demanding to shut down the government unless the law is defunded. That effort is largely political theater, and won’t actually stop the most important parts of Obamacare from taking effect.
However, that certainly doesn’t mean that Republicans aren’t pursuing any dangerous tactics to sabotage health reform. In fact, a significant threat to health care reform is unfolding in the states, which are tasked with implementing and enforcing the major provisions of the law. A new report from the Center for American Progress Action Fund (CAPAF) points out that Republicans are working to sabotage Obamacare on the state level by undermining education campaigns, hampering enrollment efforts, and even outright blocking some of Obamacare’s provisions.
