- The Jackson, NY town board voted 4-1 to repeal an English-only law under pressure from state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who warned them that the law violates both the federal and the state constitutions.
- When a Republican is in the White House, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) thinks it’s unconstitutional to filibuster judicial nominees. When a Democrat is in the White House, Sessions says that he has a duty to filibuster judicial nominees.
- Minnesotans are evenly split on whether to write anti-gay discrimination into their state constitution. On the up side, 72 percent of the states’ residents either support full marriage equality or civil unions for gay couples.
- A coalition of legal groups published a guide to becoming a federal judge.
