Westboro Hate Church Preps For Round Two In Federal Court

Earlier this year, the Supreme Court held the First Amendment protected anti-gay protesters from Westboro Baptist Church’s right to protest a military funeral, but also left open the possibility that a “content neutral” ban on all similar protests could be upheld. Several states have since enacted funeral protest laws which they hope will keep Westboro away, and the hate church is not happy. Margie Phelps, the daughter of Westboro leader Fred Phelps who won her oral argument before the Supreme Court, is already preparing a lawsuit challenging California’s funeral protest law just one week after that law was passed.
