John Boehner’s $520 Per Hour Lawyer Caught Misrepresenting Studies To A Federal Court

Earlier this year, House Republicans signed a contract to pay former Solicitor General Paul Clement $520 per hour in taxpayer dollars to defend the unconstitutional Defense of Marriage Act. As it turns out, that money bought the American taxpayers a legal brief that misrepresented scientific research to a federal judge. Clement cites a study by University of Utah psychology professor Lisa Diamond to claim that gay people can somehow transform into straight people. Diamond responded yesterday with an affidavit explaining that Clement “completely misrepresented my research.”
