- The Supreme Court appears poised to strip Medicaid providers and patients of their ability to enforce essential parts of federal Medicaid law in court, a decision that could effectively render that law unenforceable during conservative presidencies.
- First Lady Michelle Obama warns that the future of the Supreme Court is at stake in this election.
- Both the Democratic and Republican candidate for Attorney General in Mississippi backed a so-called “personhood” amendment that could effectively ban many forms of birth control under Mississippi state law.
- The Supreme Court turned down a case that could have expanded Second Amendment rights to allow people to carry firearms in public. As always, the Court’s decision not to hear the case says nothing about how they view the case’s merits.
- Justice Scalia has now been a justice for 25 years.
