Prominent Republican lawyer and RNC committeeman Jim Bopp, Jr. endorsed Mitt Romney for president today. Bopp is best known for his role in the Citizens United Supreme Court case, which dismantled longstanding campaign finance laws restricting corporate influence in our elections. Bopp, who opposes limits on how much money individuals can give to political campaigns, was undoubtedly heartened when Romney took a similar position in December. “We’d be a lot wiser to say you can give what you’d like to a campaign. They must report it immediately,” Romney told NBC.
