Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch (R) denounced comments by Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) last week that “legitimate rape” rarely leads to pregnancy, calling his remarks “disgusting.” “Rape is a rape,” she noted, “I don’t know how you can categorize it.” But, as Gawker notes, when told that Paul Ryan co-sponsored a bill with Akin to redefine rape, Kleefisch immediately backtracked, saying “Well, I think there is a way to have a more forcible rape, the same way there are different types of assault.”
