- Seven of the Supreme Court’s nine members grant attorneys’ requests for more time to file a brief or other document at least 75 percent of the time. Justice Scalia grants those requests 4 percent of the time.
- Bush Solicitor General turned marriage equality advocate Ted Olson explains his decision to ask the Supreme Court not to take his challenge to California’s anti-gay Prop 8.
- Former Sen. Arlen Specter has cancer again.
- Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne (R) goes to court to undermine a voter-enacted ballot initiative authorizing medical marijuana dispensaries in that state.
- And, finally, a video tracker working for the Indiana GOP followed a local judge for 16 miles, prompting the judge to seek help from the police. The tracker wrongly thought the judge was Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Rep. Joe Donnelly.
