- The Supreme Court holds that US residents may resell copyrighted works purchased overseas.
- The Food and Drug Administration scrapped graphic anti-smoking labels it sought to have tobacco companies print on cigarette packages, avoiding potential showdown over the labels in the Supreme Court.
- A Montana House committee considers a bill to repeal the state’s unconstitutional ban on gay sex ten years after the Supreme Court declared such laws unconstitutional, and sixteen years after the state supreme court said the same thing.
- Wyoming Attorney General Greg Phillips (D) appeared to have an uneventful hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, which was considering his nomination to be a federal appellate judge.
