VIDEO: North Carolina Legislator Goes ‘Birther’ At Town Hall Meeting

State Rep. Larry G. Pittman (R-NC)

North Carolina State Rep. Larry G. Pittman (R) told a recent town hall audience that President Barack Obama is not a traitor because his actions have not been disloyal to Kenya.

In the video, captured by American Bridge 21st Century, Pittman notes that he recently saw a picture with the word “traitor” across a picture of the president:

PITTMAN: I don’t always agree with the guy, I certainly didn’t vote for him, but I gotta defend him on this one. I just don’t think it’s right at all to call Barack Obama a traitor. You know a lot of things he’s done wrong, but he is not a traitor. At least not as far as I can tell, because I’ve not come across any evidence yet that he has done one thing to harm Kenya.

The Concord, NC attendees laughed and applauded his birther joke.

Pittman, a Presbyterian minister serving his first full term in the state legislature, has previously endorsed publicly hanging doctors who perform abortions and state nullification of federal gun restrictions. On his campaign website, he writes that “the only thing illegal aliens have the right to do in North Carolina is to leave,” and declares his support for the rights of hunters because “humans were created as the top predators on earth.”
