On Monday afternoon, multiple Moral Monday protesters, including Cornel West, Reverend Osagyefo Sekou, and activists Deray Mckesson and Johnetta Elzie, were detained outside the Eagleton Courthouse in St. Louis. A state of emergency has officially been declared.

Reverend Michael Angell told ThinkProgress that a coalition of clergy and protesters gathered at Christ Church Cathedral for a nonviolence resistance training, before walking to the Thomas F. Eagleton United States Courthouse. There, a group of demonstrators crossed a barricade that was set up by local officers. After demonstrators sat peacefully, chanting, officers began to make their arrests.
