FDA Delays Taking Action Against Menthol Cigarettes | Even though significant evidence demonstrates that the LGBT and African-American communities are disproportionately harmed by menthol cigarettes, the Food and Drug Administration announced last week that it would delay taking action against their sale in favor of additional peer review and study. The American Legacy Foundation has called out the delay as duplicative, arguing that “additional research is unnecessary” and calling on the FDA to “act now to save lives.”
