The Minnesota state government has shut down today, because instead of passing a budget, the Republican-controlled legislature:

1) Ignored Gov. Mark Dayton’s (D) deadline for a budget to spend a month in hearings and debates about a redundant constitutional ban on same-sex marriage, and then…

2) Flew around the state defending their vote against marriage equality.
