Chapel Hill YMCA Evicts Scouts For Anti-Gay Discrimination

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA has updated its non-discrimination policy to protect lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender employees and members. As a result, the Boy Scouts of America will no longer be permitted to use the YMCA’s facilities, and the YMCA will end its youth outreach partnership with the organization. The Scouts do not allow “openly or avowed homosexuals” to serve as leaders.
