Maine state Rep. Terry Morrison’s (D) anti-bullying bill (LD 1237) was on a fast-track to becoming law until the Christian Civil League of Maine sent an action alert urging legislators to oppose it. Morrison had to vote against the bill so he could bring it forward again in January, ideally with the support for passage it had before the conservative group scared lawmakers into thinking it’s a “gay bill.”
